I did not expect the owners to treat me and my wife like honored guests in their own home, but that's how it is. Very interesting husband and wife team who are very skilled at making a rich experience and tailoring the visit to your interests. The coolest part of the stay for me were the happy hours that Dave hosted. We had a lot of fun swapping stories with Dave and other guests who were also up for some good drinks. Breakfast was also pretty awesome. The manor is a beautiful campus that exceeds the verbal description and pictures. Lots of richness in the back story can be gleaned from conversation with Dave. To be honest, we werent looking for a bed and breakfast or a resort like retreat since we came to do some hiking, do some leaf peeping, and do some tourist stuff with a friend. By the time check out came around, we wished we budgeted more time relaxing at the manor. Definitely plan to book here again next time we do a Wisconsin vacation.

The owner's Dave and Trudy were so much fun! They helped us pick and make reservations at an amazing supper club and local brewery. The breakfast was great too! Dave was always happy to take photos for us and fill our wine glasses too! Both Dave and Trudy kept us laughing all weekend long. I stayed in the Birds Nest room. It was very charming and well appointed. I loved the binoculars that were in all the rooms so you could watch the birds and other wild life on the grounds. There was also a hydro spa tube in the private bathroom which was so relaxing. Overall a fabulous place for a getaway! This was an amazing girls weekend! We are planning on returning next year!

They are really bright! Watch out cause when you leave they came up with excuses to charge more money to my credit card. "Cleaning Covid Clean" What there was just two of us there for a couples weekend. only used hot tub and our bed not even used shower or even cooked there! Hotels have had a guide line to stand by with dealing with theses things for cleanliness forever. it is the same for covid. IF u ran a clean place before covid. ITs the same!! PLUS I had no idea of theses fees till after I left and they had my credit card! there's nothing i can do about it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is getting ripped off. I have been to a lot of places in Wi. this one I wouldn't trust or come back to. there are better places in the area!

The owners are simply outstanding and truly care about their guests and will assist you with your request. They also rent pontoon boats. This was our third consecutive summer vacation at Burhops and they always treat us like Family. Burhops is a great place to enjoy time as a family.

Besides for rentals, there are people who own in Burhops, which gives the whole place a neighborhood feel. You can dock your boat here, or rent a boat for the day. We usually stick with the swimming area and sand-box for the kids. Plus there's a cute little park across the street and a couple of little restaurants that are walking-distance away. Keep in mind, this is not a "resort." It's a small, off-the-beaten-path, cabin rental. But if that's what you're looking for, it's the absolute cutest off-the-beaten-path, cabin rental you could ask for!

He went back and asked for a refund and left. The attendant at the desk told him to delete photos of the bed bugs in order to get a receipt. The man HAD to watch it be deleted. Thankfully my husband took 2 photos and only deleted one. Unfortunately the actual bug photo was deleted. This place smells awful, has bugs, and has shady business practices. I suggest staying away

We unfortunately booked this late at night going home or I never would have stayed there. The smell as you walk in is overwhelming of curry and doesn't get any better in the rooms. You can't open the windows for relief. I slept with a shirt tied over my face all night. It was dirty with filth around the toilet, dusty old decor and just general unkempt. The bathroom sink didn't drain. They advertised breakfast which was untrue; however, I never would have ate there had they had breakfast. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car or under a bridge rather than here. Hopefully this will help another traveler and they will see this amongst the LIES that are posted about this dump.

The AC could drive things down to the "snow" setting and the beds were comfy. Of particular note is the breakfast lady, who was chatty, interesting and as they say, "Wisconsin Friendly." Sauk City is where Culver's started, and the mothership is right across the street. The hotel apparently gets a great deal of corporate work for new trainees. It shows in the friendly staff and atmosphere.

We stayed for a long weekend, and and it was the perfect location to get away. The rooms are all themed so when you call to reserve you can pick from the rooms they have available. We stayed in Unit 2, the Devil's Lake room which had photos of Devil's lake. The room included a mini refrigerator, coffee and tea, and alarm clock if needed. Right outside your door they have chairs and tables for enjoying the beautiful weather. They also have grills and an area for bonfires. I was only able to go to the communal area/lobby for the first morning as it was soon closed as they were started to do contactless check in/out. But it seems as though in less COVID-y times they have some coffee or tea there, light breakfast items like mini muffins or breakfast bars and fruit. They also had a communal puzzle and board games. Overall the place is super cozy, perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation with a number of restaurants and small shops to visit in Baraboo.

There was also an incident the day before the wedding where they did not want to give us our wedding night suite that was included with our room blocks (the rule is 15 rooms to be booked and a free suite the night of the wedding, and we had all 15 booked). Just general miscommunication that could've easily been solved, we always ended up speaking no with the manager to have things fixed which can be annoying.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Heather who explained the property's amenities, as well as reviewing a substantial menu with food and beverage choices for the breakfast the next morning. We stayed in the spacious Heywood Hardy Suite with a comfortable king size bed, large ensuite bathroom, a separate sitting room and a deck. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. Heather and Tom serve breakfast to all of their guests at a specific time. Everything is fresh and made to order from your menu choices. Guests are seated at tables of four, and it was delightful getting to know there others staying at the inn. The property is beautiful and there is a field with a horse, sheep and other animals. Heather and Tom make you feel right at home. They're friendly, and love to talk, but they're not intrusive. We enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Red Speckled Inn. I highly recommend it.
