No phone service in most of Letchworth, and no internet access also. If not for the free wifi at the Inn, we'd be lost in space! After a quick tour of the inn in which they also mentioned the future work to be done on another floor of the inn, we turned in hoping to take a hot shower after standing and walking all day in the hot sun. 2-3 mins no hot water in the shower. More time and still NO hot water. Opened the faucet in the sink for over 10 minutes and NO hot water. Went down to ask about it, and nobody was at the desk. No hot shower so went to sleep in a grimy skin. At least the bed was comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and this was the first ceiling fan I've ever seen outside a personal residence, and the blades were clean! But looking around, yes, the place is old and needs a lot of loving attention to detail, as there are scrapes, cracks and peeling something all over. There is dust everywhere and I am allergic to that everything. The hot water is nonexistent tho water pressure was good. Then we wondered IF the plumbing was lead! My wife went down twice for tea and after she left twice, the door popped open all by itself, apparently needing a strong pull to be sure it closes with a click. There is free wifi which helped us greatly in planning for the next day, and as we drove off, in helping us get not lost! We also thought the very light grab and go breakfast was a bit too light, and a nicer sit-down breakfast would have been appropriate, considering the cost of the room. I am sure if they give a bit more attention to the many details of the structure, a decent breakfast and overall the business itself, and the many many rooms, they just may enjoy more occupancy!!

However, us, along with many others, had issues with the key card and opening the room door. Carpet was tested and coming up in hallways and the room - should be addressed to avoid tripping hazards. Some of the towels provided were a bit dirty. Cons are tolerable for a hotel but could use improvements.

I had called into the front desk in the morning, and the woman who answered had told me that she had an emergency and had to leave. The manager whom I spoke too the previous day when I saw him outside, taking pictures doing the marketing for the hotel, had come in early to let her take care of her fiancé. Truly. Just about everything there he even cleaned up a coffee stain in my room for me.

Our room had a nice TV and workstation, the bed was comfy, the HVAC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bath and shower were fine. Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

I thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I packed and ran into the night manager on the way out. I told him his ac was broken. He said " It'll freeze up if you crank it all the way down!" I replied "Is 69 degrees cranking it all the way down?!" He told me I could change rooms. I told him thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I'm leaving. He told me he could refund $50. I started laughing and said "that's ridiculous, it's not even 1 am. You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I said" That is not cussing at you, I'm talking about packing my shit up!" She hung up on me. I'm done with Hampton Inn completely. They clearly can't make a repeat guest comfortable and I drive for a living. I'll be staying elsewhere.

The owner was very accommodating and helpful in giving advice on things to do in the area. Each morning we were served a multi -course breakfast made by the owner. The food was certainly one of the highlights of our stay here. It was some of the best breakfast food i have had. All of the guests of the bed and breakfast ate breakfast together and the owner helped create a very relaxed and enjoyable social environment. The room we stayed in (indulgence, I believe) was phenomenal. It was well decorated, clean and luxurious. The bed and breakfast is located near several wineries and the scenery is gorgeous. This place is often booked up. It is best to reserve a room well in advance.

Our room was Dark and smelled bleachy like a pool locker-room. For me, that was the worst feature. But it was spacious and the bed was fine. Bathroom layout and shower were good, but toilet kept running. Worse, the old AC unit kept cycling off and on. The room was too warm even when we lowered setpoint to 62. The breakfast area was very nice and food adequate. The courtyard was very pretty but everyone sees you when you are in it. The best thing here is the staff. They are pleasant and the place, while old, is clean. If they changed the lightbulbs and the cleaning solutions, it would go a long way, imo.

Our reservation in the Moose cabin was for the last 3 nights of their season…read more Upon arrival Denise greeted us and showed us into the cabin. It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (where it was hidden) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just plain tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in your bath water.
