We stayed here recently on a Friday night after hoping to see air balloons over Letchworth SP. The…read moreinn was easy enough to find since at least the GPS still worked to guide us to the inn. No phone service in most of Letchworth, and no internet access also. If not for the free wifi at the Inn, we'd be lost in space! After a quick tour of the inn in which they also mentioned the future work to be done on another floor of the inn, we turned in hoping to take a hot shower after standing and walking all day in the hot sun. 2-3 mins no hot water in the shower. More time and still NO hot water. Opened the faucet in the sink for over 10 minutes and NO hot water. Went down to ask about it, and nobody was at the desk. No hot shower so went to sleep in a grimy skin. At least the bed was comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and this was the first ceiling fan I've ever seen outside a personal residence, and the blades were clean! But looking around, yes, the place is old and needs a lot of loving attention to detail, as there are scrapes, cracks and peeling something all over. There is dust everywhere and I am allergic to that everything. The hot water is nonexistent tho water pressure was good. Then we wondered IF the plumbing was lead! My wife went down twice for tea and after she left twice, the door popped open all by itself, apparently needing a strong pull to be sure it closes with a click. There is free wifi which helped us greatly in planning for the next day, and as we drove off, in helping us get not lost! We also thought the very light grab and go breakfast was a bit too light, and a nicer sit-down breakfast would have been appropriate, considering the cost of the room. I am sure if they give a bit more attention to the many details of the structure, a decent breakfast and overall the business itself, and the many many rooms, they just may enjoy more occupancy!!

Our room had a nice TV and workstation, the bed was comfy, the HVAC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bath and shower were fine. Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

I thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I packed and ran into the night manager on the way out. I told him his ac was broken. He said " It'll freeze up if you crank it all the way down!" I replied "Is 69 degrees cranking it all the way down?!" He told me I could change rooms. I told him thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I'm leaving. He told me he could refund $50. I started laughing and said "that's ridiculous, it's not even 1 am. You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I said" That is not cussing at you, I'm talking about packing my shit up!" She hung up on me. I'm done with Hampton Inn completely. They clearly can't make a repeat guest comfortable and I drive for a living. I'll be staying elsewhere.

Our table of 12 was accommodated with advance notice of arrival. Most tables are 2 or 4 tops. We went for the fish fry...I had broiled with crab topping. It came with fries, potato salad, and Cole slaw. The 5 kids split a cheese pizza which was very fresh. There was live atmosphere music with an older gentleman playing a keyboard. Owner was very friendly and you can tell many of the customers are regulars. Summer time has a lot of outdoor seating.

Saying that this sandwich was tasty would be an understatement. The hand cut fries complimented the Fatboy perfectly. If you're passing through the hamlet of Varysburg you should do yourself a favor and stop by the Varysburg Hotel, not merely for a treat to your taste buds, but for the atmosphere as well. The staff at the Varysburg Hotel make you feel welcome and remain attentive. Parking is limited, you'll most likely need to park on the street. A pro-tip for all, mind your speed as you come down 20a into Varysburg, unless you like contributing to the states general fund of course.

I stayed here the night of October 21st, woke up with multiple bedbug bites on my arms and neck…read more The hotel denies a bedbug issue, states they can't verify that these are bedbug bites, that they checked and there is no evidence of bedbugs in the room I stayed in (Room 110, for future patrons) or anywhere in the hotel. The laundry and cleaning requirements upon returning home have been overwhelming. I have learned more about bedbugs in the past few days than I ever wanted to know. Bedbugs are killed by high heat or by several days of 0 degree temps. I now have purses and shoes in oversized zip loc bags in my freezer and have spent multiple hours machine drying dirty clothes on high heat, then machine washing in hot water and machine drying the same clothes on high heat again. As heat kills them, I did find dead bedbugs in my dryer lint trap. Despite all my efforts, I am living in fear of those nasty bugs still showing up in my own home. I have never written a bad review before, but hope to prevent this from happening to someone else. Baymont by Wyndham, you really messed up.

It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (where it was hidden) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just plain tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in your bath water.
