I am a photographer and this was my second time coming here to take photos. Attached below are the photos I took. This place has such kind and nice staff. I met the owner too and they were very very nice. I have photographed at a lot of locations before but it is here where I have found the most caring staff! It's a beautiful building, and I hope if you are considering coming here, you do!

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars because of how exceptional Jennifer and Jim and their staff were.

Spiders on the ceiling, ants in the room, lots of squashed bugs on the wall Couldn't sleep the first two nights had adults and kids screaming and crying for two hours before I called the desk Interesting how as soon as the desk knocked on their door it completely stopped and then they bailed into a huge suv, like a Yukon Denali, and left. Kids don't stop crying like that unless someone is hurting them. Morning desk did confirm they were housing homeless but homeless do not drive Yukons so my thoughts is child trafficking

Front desk staff was like uhh. Im like really? My name. Check in ? He was like ohhh... found my name & gave me hotel cardkey. Finally, about time. 2nd floor is somewhat weird because I went up stairs then downstairs (3 steps down) to get on 2nd floor. *beep* got in the room. Huh? Its not really bright inside. Lights is like dim. So, I pulled the curtains so I can let lights get in. Its not enough because bunch of trees blocked the lights. Bed... is eh. Its ok but comfortable level is ok. Its not 5 stars. TV ? DISAPPOINTED!! I cant get captions on TV. C'MONNN!!! I tried figuring how to set the captions but its dont really let the setting show up on tv. Frustrating so I gave up. Shower... nice!!! No tub but hey, its nice!! Bathroom looks really nice and better than the looks of room! 4 stars for bathroom, 2 stars for room, 2 stars for bed & 1 star for curtains (its not close enough to make it dark). To be honest, I think its better for just a night to book or two nights. Its aint fit for a week of vacation. More likely "pit stop" for 1-2 nights then bounce out to the road trip.

"Jenny, Jenny, Jenny Won't you come along with me…read moreYou know that I love you We could live so happily" (Little Richard) Great location just minutes from Geneseo's Main Street restaurants and the State University campus. Our room had a nice TV and workstation, the bed was comfy, the HVAC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bath and shower were fine. Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

I thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I packed and ran into the night manager on the way out. I told him his ac was broken. He said " It'll freeze up if you crank it all the way down!" I replied "Is 69 degrees cranking it all the way down?!" He told me I could change rooms. I told him thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I'm leaving. He told me he could refund $50. I started laughing and said "that's ridiculous, it's not even 1 am. You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I said" That is not cussing at you, I'm talking about packing my shit up!" She hung up on me. I'm done with Hampton Inn completely. They clearly can't make a repeat guest comfortable and I drive for a living. I'll be staying elsewhere.

They even took the time to learn my name which made my stay more personal. Deborah was extremely nice and understanding when I called her to let her know I will be checking in late due to a bachelorette party. On top of that, she's an excellent cook! I looked forward to breakfast each morning and I was never disappointed! She was even thoughtful enough to make Mickey Mouse pancakes for my friend's 3 year old daughter which made her smile in the morning. Her husband Richard was joy to converse with and has an extensive knowledge about the property and history. My room (Skivington) had a rustic charm to it with big windows facing the garden. The room has fantastic views of the pond and the nature around it. There is a variety of birds on the property and Richard can probably tell you the breed. They also do a great job with cleaning the rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. It's only a mile away from the Genesee Country Village and Museum and a short ride to a bunch of wineries. Thank you Deborah and Richard for the amazing experience!

Soup AND Salad WITH Bread, in addition to your meal ... in one word, YUM!…read more Upon entry, we felt like we were stepping into a different dimension and simpler times. Candlelit tables and dim sconces on the walls provided a warm, inviting vibe. Surprisingly, the server who greeted us knew us by name and warmly welcomed us to the National Hotel. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The meal was coursed out perfectly and we enjoyed every bite. Stuffed mushrooms to start were piping hot and flavorful in a ramekin of butter. The hottest thing in Cuylerville was the freshly baked bread-in-a-bag! Perfect to get every morsel of mushroom soup out of our bowls. Usually you have to choose between soup OR salad, not here! We got a fresh greens garden salad following the soup! Our main entrées of steak were perfectly cooked to temp and tasted great with the red wine. The mashed potatoes were fluffy, flavorful and satisfying. Peanut butter and chocolate pie brought our experience to a close. To wrap up the evening, we got to thank the chef and her husband for an amazing dining experience. This is one of a kind gem and we look forward to our next visit. Bring a loved one, go for a special date night or just stop in to treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.
