Stained sheets- not even sure they were washed as they had what seemed like crusted on boogers stuck to them. Stained towels, brown washcloths. Bleach is definitely needed when doing laundry here. A big sign about how bugs are just "part of Mother Nature" in the lobby should have had me driving the next 3 hours home, but decided to risk it. A baby spider or flea, not sure what, landed on my phone while I was sitting on the bed. Praying we don't come home with bed bugs. Woke up to a giant cricket in the bathroom. Bathroom floor had definitely not been cleaned as I could see debris on it and stains. Dog urine stains in the corner of the main room and broken blinds. Kids were saying it smelled like wet dog. Breakfast is very basic- lower quality than other hotels I've stayed at. But they had waffles, fake eggs, sausage, white bread, mini muffins, yogurt, juice, coffee. It is what it is--good and affordable place to stay if you're on your way to or from NorCal. It was clean, had everything we needed and we were all pretty tired so we fell asleep quickly. We slept in the next day so we weren't able to get breakfast there, but my husband did manage to get some hot water for himself and coffee for me, so yay! One note--the bathroom could use a bit more cleaning. When my kiddos were bathing, the bathroom got steamy and I found brown liquid on the toilet seat. Thankfully, it wasn't what we thought, but it turned out the bathroom vent was pretty gross and the steam caused gunk from the vent to drip down. read more

Spotless room Had absolutely everything we needed from a refrigerator, microwave,coffee, toiletries, large television, comfortable chair, and best of all a wonderful bed. Had the best night sleep. We stayed just one night at the Quality Inn. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. Not sure why others left anything below a 4 star! Mine is a 5+ We checked in early and comfortably watched FIFA while relaxing after our long drive. The tv was large and easy to navigate. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The room really clean. We travel with food and the room had a little fridge and freezer so I could reuse my ice packs. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Lots of good choices for breakfast too. We were on a pretty long drive and needed a break, The front desk wasn't very welcoming. After we checked into our room the door lock was practically hanging off the hinges and there was trash and miscellaneous items under the bed, stains and dirty spots on the sheets. when we asked about different blankets They didn't want to give us any and they brought us one blanket and when we asked for more said they already gave us one and it was enough. Then after we told them about the lock,( which is a safety issue) they just pretty much told us to leave at 1am with our small children until finally changing our room, which also wasn't very clean. read more

Left a tip for the cleaning lady and upon leaving I seen the female manager run to the room and grab it before the cleaning lady entered. I asked one of the staff members if that was common and they let me know that they never receive tips and that the manager always "checks" the rooms before cleaning staff enters. We came, we saw, and were conquered by two crickets at least 1" long. One was in the shower when we woke up and the second obey the front door hopping around. I almost thought they would keep us from leaving! We didn't have a reservation but they still had options. We got a two queen bedroom and it came with a full bath, mini fridge with no freezer, a big TV, and limited wifi. Our parking spot was right outside our door and their morning breakfast has eggs, sausage, danishes, and waffles. There's coffees and other bevys. It's definitely great in the common areas but the bugs creeped me out too much. But a good price for this stay! read more

Secure location right off I-5. The Indian couple who checked me in had mediocre English skills. Below average communication skills as well. Disturbing inability to answer direct questions. Night clerk was again very pleasant and young. Native English speaker who couldn't answer the simplest questions. Example: "Where is the ice machine?" Easy direct answer should have been" Out your door, turn right, go 75-100'". That was too tough for him. I found it shocking that such poorly educated unintelligent people could run an excellent place like this. Then again, you have to appreciate their pleasant personalities. We are becoming a nation of ignorant mumblers! Please, young men and women. Speak loudly enough to penetrate the covid screens, make eye contact, and enunciate. For any trip, take some bug poison or traps with you. It was late when we arrived without prior booking. We got a room at standard price and went to it. The bathroom was clean, sink area had coffee options or water that tasted like coffee, and the beds were made. One bed is really close to the AC machine and the other blocks a small closet. There's a TV, medium-sized mini fridge, and drawers. It was comfortable for what it was. Breakfast options are simple but plenty. And it's close to gas stations with food marts. This hotel was great! Rooms were very clean, comfy and very nicely updated. The staff for this hotel were all very friendly and helpful. The prices were all reasonable. We paid $115 but $20 added for a pet fee and $25 added for the deposit. I would defiantly stay at this hotel again. Also the location being in the middle of no where there was plenty of food/shops to choose from. Very cute old western themed area across the street. We had BBQ and tried the ice cream place! We made a reservation here for a late Friday night since we knew we weren't going to be making it all the way to Oakland that night. I'll be honest in all the years we've traveled up North this is probably our second stop in Kettleman City and we still managed to get just a little lost, we were tired ok couldn't find the hotel. Checking in was a breeze, ladies in the front were very friendly and helpful. Once we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised how clean it was, update beds, mini fridge & microwave everything was very nice indeed! Beds were very comfortable and we passed out once we got here. They do have continental breakfast which wasn't bad. We would definitely stay here again for another unexpected trip. We stayed here twice on our SoCal trip. Once on the way south. Again headed back up north to the Bay Area. The rooms are very clean and updated. USB ports in the wall outlets. Large refrigerators, big beautiful Samsung TVs with satellite connectivity. Good COVID protocols. Very pleasant staff. I have a 5 month old and I'm FURIOS that the rooms here are so hot. I didn't pay $170 a night to stay in a room where the AC SUCKS!!!!! So upset and so mad that this is the outcome. Had the maintenance guy come check it out. He came in saw it was working but it continued to blow hot air. Barley spoke any English. AND came in his pajamas. Such bullshit. We happy with our stay. Room was quiet. Ac/heater unit worked well. We sleep best in cold room. The room was very clean! The headboards had a unique built in light feature that offered three settings of gentle ambient light + off. The bed had the more modern linens that were a duvet and thin coverlet for hygiene. Not the heavy bedspread that you find in most hotels that make you want to get out your black light, lol. The room refrigerator was larger than a dorm unit, which is nice for storing something like a left over pizza etc. Plantation blinds in windows keep down dust. The staff all were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was the typically Choice Property fare. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage. No butter, only a whipped oil spread. Ample truck and rv parking. Very happy with stay. I would stay again. Be a considerate guest and leave housekeeping a couple bucks. They work hard. read more

WOW. WHAT A RENOVATION! Let me first say, i hate doing this. So I ONLY do this if someone REALLY REALLY ticks me off! I stay at hiltons, basically thats all i am a diamond vip. Embassy, double tree, sometimes a hampton inn. I just needed to stop for the night on the road. I could not believe it. The new owners have redone the rooms and the rooms are REALLY nice. The bed was very comfortable i had a very good sleep, the room CLEAN, really classy and even the bed headboard was really cool. New tv. New everything. It was nicer than the Double Tree i just stayed at last week and paid $170, and less than half the price. Seriously, i will not hesitate to make this my stop on hwy 5. Its just a great stay and the new owners deserve a great review. They did really good!!! Merry Christmas! read more

Great place to stay with a lot of restaurants nearby. First, I feel like the outside can be a little bit more modernize. It could attract/bring more people in. Safe area with bright lights with a lot of security cameras helps ensure your vehicle is safe. But, wow, as soon as you open the doors, wow, it feels like a holiday inn. Very well modernize... and super clean... kudos to the staff that is running this place... you have out done yourself! The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the shower.... it was really weak with all the different settings. You w I understand think because the sink faucet was strong, the shower would be too. Other than that no complaints. Lastly, awesome staff in the front. She was really helpful. As soon as I came in to extend another night, she though I had an issue with the room, but was surprised I was complementing how nice it was. Give her a raise, cool and nice person. This is a great stop off Highway 5 in Kettleman City (hwy 5 at hwy 41 exit) . completely renovated and redecorated ... quite a surprise from date older dated places along 5 ... many restaurants/fast food place as well as a 50 station Tesla supercharging station across the street, and various has stations . Super front desk staff and great price for the room and amenities ( basic coffee rolls fruit for breakfast included in room (limited due to COVID restrictions) but we loved this place and it's new fresh feel king was $89/nite with shutters on windows opened easily... If you want fresh air but keep your food and snacks in large room refrigerator to prevent. Bugs from coming thru the slats ... we had no issues whatsoever but probably hotel should put on screen on right side of window fot instinct deterrent and securityt . I found this hotel very comfortable and clean. Upon our arrival there was ample parking. It was all well lit. I was worried that it would be noisy due to the highway being right next to the hotel. It turned out to be very quiet. The front desk was quick with check in and friendly. We did have to change our room ( 108 ) because it was in front of a noisy ice machine, which they did with no problem. The room was large and clean. The bed was soft but not too soft. The pillows are fluffy but soft. The heater worked fine. The headboard had a light behind it with 3 settings that was a nice touch. My partner felt the pillows where comfortable. I always bring my own pillow. The towels are rough and thin but they did serve there purpose. The shower was fine. Aside from the thin towels it was a good stay. I would stay here again. Easy to get to off the 5 freeway in Kettleman City and a half way point to San Francisco, San Jose Or Monterey. Rooms were clean and new looking and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Area feels safe with a Denny's and In N Out nearby. Also, across the way is Bravo Farms. Clara checked me in and quickly got me a room that met our needs. Great staff like Clara is what makes for a pleasant stay. Fantastic beds with excellent bedding and pillows, really 3-4 star hotel Quality. Spotless rooms and sparkling clean bath rooms. Half size fridge and microwave, big LED TV and simple coffee machine. Nice grounds with lots of greener, but the pool is filled with sand, making it a large potty for the Kettleman kitty party happening, watch out if you have dogs, they are going to love the cats.
