The room was standard size. It was clean enough. The bed was not really comfortable. We stayed here because there was a Wedding nearby in Del Rey. The hotel is right up against the freeway and you can hear the cars at night. The breakfast in the morning wasn't too bad and the coffee was good. Can't give this place a zero star. My friends and I booked a night here. When we got to our room, the stench of mold, humid stench was super strong. We told reception and we were told, there's nothing they can do, since all rooms were booked. No Management to contact according to the receptionist and that's fine, what's not ok, giving us a room to stay the night, smelling mold all night. read more

For business travelers, I've found most register for points with either Hilton or Marriott. The more you stay, the more you get back in free family travel. Whichever group you choose, you do anything and everything to stay at one of their properties. I needed to be in Kingsburg for a meeting and this was the only Marriott property close by. The reviews were not great but I chose the place to help build my points. Everything was decent enough as far as a simple room goes but, when I turned on the show the next morning, the valve just spun in circles...... no water.... at all. When I called the front desk, she said they would come up with a key to a nearby room so I can use their shower. The worst part was her telling me that they have had issues with this happening before in this room. What? The hotel was less than 1/2 full. Why put me in a room known to have plumbing issues? Inexcusable. I won't be going back to a place with such poor management. read more

Well done, Kingsburg! If you have to visit this small Swedish themed town, this is the place to stay. New modern decor and furnishings. Spotlessly clean. Polite and helpful front desk. Hot breakfast which varies daily (today I had quiche and my husband had a croissant ham and cheese sandwich). All varies of dairy and alternate daily for cereal and coffee. Fresh fruit. Quiet rooms. Only complaint in room 301, the bed on the right when you're facing the TV is too soft and bowed in the center. read more

I've stayed at a number of different Fairfield's and they seem to almost always be reliably well taken care of and very clean. This place was no exception. I found the staff here to also be very courteous and helpful. The hotel faces the 99 Freeway and is clearly visible from it, and so I would recommend requesting a room facing the other way. There isn't a clear path to the hotel from the offramp, so you'll have to make a wide loop through some surface streets to actually get to the hotel. Having a navigation map will help a lot. read more

Booked this place for a work trip and its location. I travel for a living and have been to many Marriott's but this place doesn't live up to its name! Customer service was great, but the property is like a super 8 at best! This place fell extremely short of my expectations for being a Fairfield inn and suites! Rooms are old MUSTY and dingy. Furniture is dated, mattress SUCKS! Bathroom is odd shaped and super old. Tile / counters haven't been updated in years nor had the grout ever been cleaned. The hallway had a ghetto fan blowing in it the entire stay. For the price you pay do yourself a favor book somewhere else. Not a happy bonvoy member at all. read more

I drive back and forth to So. Cal often. Depending on the time of day when I leave, I need to stop and spend the night along the 5 or in this case the 99. While I don't think Kingsburg is a destination city, this hotel was a nice respite from the long drive. The room is clean and came with a variety of little gifts. As a Bonvoy member, I got a small gift bag of bottled waters, oreos and chex mix. My son loved that. Got the cutest little package of sanitizing wipes and earplugs (but certainly didn't need). I was so pleased to see a variety of staff (not just housekeeping) sanitizing all around. And the elevators mention not having more than the people in your pod/family in the elevator at one time. COVID is serious and they took it seriously (unlike the same brand hotel in Bakersfield). The breakfast was soooo great and the staff was so friendly. I indulged in kid cereals for my son, banana, sliced apples. There was a hot breakfast item of cheese omelet and biscuits and gravy but I was being good. So I had a banana and apple slices too and two hard boiled. Service was sooooo nice. I'll definitely use it again on my drives back and forth from SoCal/NorCal. read more

Called prior to my arrival to confirm there were level two electric vehicle chargers, specifically for Tesla! - props considering this location is remote. The price was very affordable. The property could use a remodel, felt like I was in a horror movie with the outdated furniture (kidding!) The wifi was intermittent, but here's the best part...there's a railroad track next to the hotel. Prior to booking the woman at the front desk informed me via phone she would reserve me a room away from the tracks as it was recommended, upon arrival I was placed next to the tracks and the side of the hotel away from the tracks were occupied. I woke up several times that evening to a cargo train or Amtrak, pretty sure the conductor didn't like his job or enjoyed blowing the train horn at 3 in the morning specifically in front of the hotel lol. read more

Every year the World of agriculture descends on the Tulare California for the World Ag Expo. All of the hotels from Bakersfield to Fresno are completely booked. Even months before the handful of remaining rooms available prices have been inflated. I went on the Marriott web site to find another room and found a room at the Fairfield Inn in Kingsburg, it was going for $309 per night. Let me preface this review of this hotel chain at $119 per night it is 4 stars at $159 it is 3 stars at $309 it is 1 star. I was able to use my Marriott points to book and made my stay good. All of the hotels in the area have super inflated prices during this period. Heck my colleagues booked the Red Roof Inn no frills motel for $270 per night. Located right next to the 99 freeway, it is easy to find. The staff is very nice and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is basic but very adequate. My only gripe that the hotel is only 100 feet away from the freeway and you can hear the cars flying up and down the route 99. read more

When in the Fresno area, I will never stay anywhere else. I am disabled & in a wheelchair. I was unable to get a handicapped room the first night. A few adjustments were made & we made it work. The next morning, we had to leave early so left my things at the front desk. When I returned that afternoon, everything had been set up in the handicapped room for me. Every person on the staff was extremely kind & accommodating. These are the kind of people I would want to work with. They went out of their way to assist me whenever they could. While this is not a four star hotel, it works for our baseball treks. But I want to make note to those reading that we are "Gold" with Marriott and SPG (Westin, Sheraton, etc) and are use to some very nice accommodations. We have stayed at three Fairfields along the 99 highway and this is newer with a larger pool area. Their free breakfasts are nothing exciting, but it works. We stay one or two nights to watch our son's baseball games. Hotel is fairly new, thus clean and fresh. Convenient to stores and fast food. Right off the freeway, but our room was facing away, so I didn't hear any noise. We often stay at four star hotels, so as a three star hotel, this works well, and we'll rebook for the upcoming games. read more

I brought my family for a memorial service in the immediate area. I grew up in the area so I am pretty familiar with The Valley. I was pleasantly surprised to find a new hotel in the area. All staff were extremely polite and courteous. One of the services I look for is complimentary breakfast. Fairfield offers an extensive one. Features do it your-self waffles, scrambled eggs,bacon and sausage patties that resemble small hamburger patties. My son and I loved this. For my wife and daughter who are vegetarian. They had waffles, bagels,fruit and muffins. Coffee, fruit juices and hot chocolate were also offered. We booked last minute so had rooms facing the 99 highway. There is also a train that blew its whistle at 6:00 am. We had a good night sleep anyway. The double pained windows muffled a lot of the sound. I had booked a two queen suite with a couch bed several weeks ago. I am a Marriott rewards member- and received a confirmation this morning for my room- and the type that I had requested. When we arrived at the front desk- we were advised that the hotel overbooked and our room was not available. We were offered two separate rooms- we are a party of four with two teenagers- and I'm not putting them in their own room- nor should my husband and I have to divide and have one adult and one child in each room. There were no adjoining rooms available. Or the other option was a king room with a Pull out couch and a roll way bed. I complained and voiced that I had reserved well ahead, rewards member, traveling with a party of 4. There were no other options. So - we are cramped with couch bed and roll out in one room - hope we don't trip and fell on the way to the bathroom in the night! And the roll away bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. We had to rearrange the room moving the desk, couch, and seat around to accommodate the rollaway bed. Also- the room is a handicap room and smells of dog! When I complained on the Marriott chat site- I was advised that a guest stayed over, and that there was "nothing" they could do. I suggested that the other guest, who did not have a reservation, have been offered another room and told that the two queen suite was not available- as it was already reserved (by me). No comment back from the Fairfield inn. I won't be returning here... read more

It's a mediocre hotel for (Marriott) category 1, not great but not bad either. It's intimately next to CA-99 and the freeway is right by a train track. Pick the sunset side for a less noisy room. Hotel is only 2 years old but our room has several scuff marks and chips. Bathroom is clean and the bed comfy. Breakfast looks just like the photo on the hotel website, with standard continental items. It is a good base for touring the Blossom Trail or Fruit Trail, especially if you enjoy seeing the rural routes (in Reedley, Kingsburg, and Sanger) more than the city sights of Fresno. In terms of fast food, there is no shortage of burgers next to the hotel, freeway exit 112, but more diverse choices are a few miles north in Selma, exit 118. I found it remarkable that the roads to the hotel are inside a business park that was planned but never built, reminding you of impacts from the economic downturn. So you drive through this vast unfinished lot with many vacant cul-de-sacs. Take Sierra St. to Morgan Dr., turn right on Ventura Ct. and, poof, there's this Fairfield Inn. (There's one other entry through a gate behind Kmart's loading dock, but... going through the business park is more interesting.) This Fairfield Inn won't wow you but it's just fine for one night. read more

We were there for a baseball tournament, and in the middle of our trip, we had a tragic accident with our family. The next day, the hotel found out & they were just amazing with their support. Ricardo, the manager, was very very accommodating. He offered us more rooms at a discount, better driving directions, assistance with laundry for the kids uniforms, and by far, the most accommodating for our needs. From the front desk to the housekeeping and kitchen staff, we are so grateful & appreciative of what you all have done for us. This Kingsburg, California, Fairfield Inn location is a poor choice. We have spent almost 3000 nights in hotels as a corporate traveler. For a Marriott property this one sucks. We reserved a king room, ground floor, 6 weeks before the arrival date. We called them and reminded them two days prior to our arrival. Guess what? No availability at 3 PM on day of arrival. They assigned us a crappy, noisy, very small room near the stairway and would not offer even a partial refund since our reservation was "third party" through Hotels.com This room is really a double size bed room with a king mattress stuffed into it. You can't walk in the room without banging into furniture. If you are an inexperienced traveler with one of those yappy little lap dogs you will like this place. We will stay next door at the Motel Six for 1/2 the price when next in this area, and get far better value. We contacted the hotel directly about all this. Andrea, supposedly, the G.M, was cordial and business like. She offered her apologies but no resolution to any of the issues. So. her staff will continue to blunder along oblivious to customer awareness. read more

I stayed here for Thanksgiving break to go to Kings Canyon and Sequoia Park on Marriott points (which are an excellent deal). Location is kind of interesting next to the freeway, but without obvious access, but I learned after arriving there that the gate from the KMart is open, so you could go there. If the gate to the K Mart is closed, you have to go through an empty business park which can be kind of confusing in the dark. The hotel seems to be used as a sleeping area for various Asian tour groups, as I noticed some senior citizens getting off a bus and going to their rooms. No bed bugs and the room was normal sized for this kind of outfit. With three people it was a bit cramped but OK. I picked a room facing away from the freeway and did not hear any noise. Breakfast was decent with two meats and the usual Fairfield Inn items. Fresh fruit, hot coffee, and tea are available all day. The front desk person was sometimes distracted in the back and did not recognize that someone was at the counter waiting for something unless you call loudly to them, but that is pretty minor. read more

Stayed here Friday night and it lived up to the Fairfield name!! First, the lady at the front was incredibly nice and helpful upon checkin. She asked if we needed a fridge which was nice because we were traveling with our 1 and 1/2 year old so we could get milk and not worry about how to store it. I also went back later to ask her about local restaurants and she was very helpful about that too. The room was very nice and clean. The beds were wonderful! The only complaint I have about the room is that it smelt like stinky feet when I first walked in but I'm pregnant and my nose is extra sensitive so it wasn't a big deal. Haha. While the freeway noise you should be aware of, the place is clean and the staff are great. First time we have stayed here and we will stay again. They have a nice little breakfast, nothing fancy but works for a quick breakfast bite. The night staff person did check back with us to make sure the freeway noise didn't bother us. As we were on the first floor it wasn't too bad, howerver, next time we will make sure to ask for a room opposite the freeway when we make our reservations. read more

I, my sister, mother and her dog would stay anytime!!!! Melissa, you are doing a great job as manager. This Fairfield rivals any of the major Marriott's I have stayed in over this past year. The exterior and interior common areas are as clean, neat and fresh as the best of the best Marriotts in California. Made reservation last minute yesterday and for the same price was upgraded to a suite. Masive amount of room in even the regular rooms, let alone a suite. Everyone from the day manager to the houskeeping staff have been great. Whatever you need, call and they come running with it! Ever used the Concierge lounge lately at the big Marriotts? Crap is what you get! They say... budget cuts are to blame. So why can a smaller lower on the chain Marriott do so well in their kitchen for breakfast... makes no sense. The food was beyond fresh, the choices were out of this world and the service cannot be beat. Server could show a thing or two to the Concierge servers! (think I will suggest this to Marriott headquarters!) Ok, so why remove a 1/2 star; sorry to say two issue: 1. the room was not as clean as it should have been. Had to move a chair and it looked as if it had not been cleaned under the chair... ever! But that said, the rest of the room was excellent in cleanliness. So was the bathroom... large, very warm and inviting. 2. Could not for the life of us (all three) figure out how to change the shower to the handheld unit. Love this hotel! Highly recommend staying here if you need to stay in the Kingsburg, Reedly, Selma area. The hotel is still very new and all of the rooms are immaculate and lovely. I recommend spending the extra $10-20 or so per night and getting the studio (King w/ Sofa Bed). This room layout offers a lot more personal space than their normal rooms. I stayed at this hotel over 30 nights last year (for work) and the staff are wonderful. If you have the option, ask for a room with a "Sunset View" (i.e. - on the west side of the building) because the freeway noise can be a bit much sometimes. read more

This hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in (and I've traveled all over the world). The front desk staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Melissa was exceptionally amazing and had me smiling throughout my stay. They allowed me to check-in early and also allowed a late check-out. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Pool was the perfect temperature as well as the spa. Some renovations were going on but earplugs were left on the nightstand table to drown out the noise. Absolutely fantastic stay! DO NOT Stay at this hotel! The Manager Ricardo takes his Manager way too serious. Not only does he not follow Corp Policy on the amount of rooms you can reserve on any discount. He questions is the stay business or pleasure. Which is none of his business. When asked to provide the Corp Policy that States I have to provide him with this information. His attitude is smug, unprofessional and is need of Customer Service training. If I could give negative stars. They would get -100! Sad part I have been with Marriott for years! If you do not mind highway noise all night, this place is ok. Small rooms but very friendly service. Two of us checked in around 5:30PM and though the parking lot was not 1/2 full, they told us they had 1. No rooms facing west, away from the highway 99 which runs very near the hotel, and 2. No ground floor rooms. I wonder if they had ALL Platinum guests arriving later, and all had been guaranteed rooms on the ground floor or facing away from the highway? Doubtful. Regardless, us two Platinum Marriott guests were unable to get such rooms. A night's sleep is worth way more to me than this hotel manager realizes. He offered ear plugs to us at check-in. Matt and Rey are hands down the best front desk agents I have ever dealt with. They are fast, diligent, courteous and work hard. We were greeted with smiles, and welcomed less than 5 seconds after we Walked in the door. Check in was handled with no hassles. The experience my girlfriend and I had was so good that we ended up extending our stay for two more nights. We had another room booked about 30 mins closer to our destination planned for after our check out from here (at the same price rate too), but decided to continue doing business here. You cannot ask for better customer service. Customer service is key in today's society and they nailed it. 5 stars isn't enough for these two gentlemen. I highly recommend this location. read more

If you're driving North or South of the Central Valley of California, this is a good option to stay at if you think you needed a place to spend the night at instead of driving all the way. There are more hotels to the North (Fresno) or to the South (Visalia) so take note of that. Now back to this hotel, here are some Pros and Cons of staying here: PROS: (1) The staff are super friendly and professional. That already makes up for whatever shortcomings there are with regards to the hotel itself. (2) The hotel is clean, I'd say very clean specially the lobby, hallways and the breakfast area. (3) They have a small grocery shop in case you arrive too late and needed something to eat and drink. Note, it is a small grocery. (4) The hotel is in a generally safe place with adequate lighting and parking. (5) They have charging stations/parking spots for electric vehicles. (6) Adequate parking spots within short walking distance (7) The bathrooms are newly-renovated and clean (8) Carpets are clean in the room and there is adequate lighting. (9) Large windows that allow lots of daylight during the day (10) The room has a coffee maker and a microwave (11) Upgraded airconditioning that is controlled by a digital display on the wall CONS: (1) The room is a bit small. There's not even a couch but there is a study desk with a chair. (2) Not enough decoration on the walls, the room can look a bit boring (3) Not enough power outlets so can be an issue if you have lots of electronic devices. (4) If you end up getting a room facing the highway (US-99), getting a good sleep will be an issue. The windows seem to be single-pane that you can actually hear the cars and trucks passing by the busy highway. In the middle of the night, I even heard the train pass by it reminded me of Joe Pesci in the movie "My Cousin Vinny" Turned out it was the reason they had free disposable ear plugs by the side table. Will I stay here again? Maybe if I am really tired and could not drive any further else I'll plan ahead and look for other options. If there is one suggestion I can make to Fairfield, it is to upgrade their windows to double pane to reduce noise. read more
