I specifically told them, because they are always around in their kitchen and living room, I was leaving my dog in my room while I went on a hike. They said they wanted to get him out and that it was OK for him to run around. Well, he is a small, delicate and rambunctious chihuahua that can easily, accidentally get hurt and I told them I wanted him left in my room. When I came back from my hike I discovered the owners had gone into my room as the door between the bathroom and room was left open (I had left with it closed) and the rugs were shifted. And my dog was not in the quarantined space I had created for him to be in while I was out of the room. How do I know what happened to him? The owners treat this inn as their home because that's what it is and apparently they will do whatever they want. At real hotels you can hang a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and not worry. If this place had signs to hang they would say We Will Enter Your Room Without Permission Even When You Ask Us Not To Because This Is Our Personal Home. According to New Hampshire law they should be making it clear that they live there prior to making a reservation so this needs to be reported. In response to Sheila- your comments to your negative reviews give insight into your character. If you truly do care about customer satisfaction you would make it clear on your website that you are renting out rooms in a home. That would ensure the comfort of all of your guests.

Had I been a younger lass, not as sick, or feeling up for a mostly likely haunted adventure, I would have stayed at the other "hotel." Instead, I high tailed it to this wonderful Residence Inn. I was greeted by friendly staff and made to feel so welcomed and comfortable here. If I come back to this area, the Residence Inn will be the only place I stay. In fact, I may try to change the other hotel I booked for tomorrow night!

Kind of exciting driving up and seeing a couple old campers set up like it was part of a theme park. Getting toward the office the road splits into a nice paved 3 lane rd. Excellent if there a few people checking in. The office is well presented, and an arcade next to it is a pristine 200 yr old barn. The roads were well maintained as it turned to dirt and gravel. No rain made potholes a very nice drive. The sites as we drove by were awesome. This place has great large deep private sites, angled very well for easy docking. The site we had 210 was a damn good site. Not far walking distance from office pool and other amenities. Trees were nice and solid and it was large enough for us to do extra. The fire pits were awesome, all large stones with others built up.. excellent on that one moosehillock. Everyone walking by had great attitudes, excellent vibes. Well except that one dude looked at me walking by jealous of my blackstone. Cons to get through quick cause we didn't have much. At $12 a bundle for wood, little steep usually paying $4-6 at other campgrounds. BUT!!!!! you can bring your NH born wood from wherever so that's a plus. No cell service but wifi if you are down around the office. By the way I met a camp worker David who was very professional and helped with every question and matter we had. 100 acres, over 500 sites to stay at rv cabins tents. This is a great place. We plan to go back next summer in season to check out the pool and other accommodations. Recommended for now. Update next season.

The staff, particularly the Reservations department, were consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of being helpful, they treated us with a lack of respect whenever we had questions or concerns. The campground is also significantly overpriced for what you receive. On top of the high nightly rates, there are hidden fees that are not clearly explained during the booking process. Transparency is seriously lacking. Another major disappointment was the Wi-Fi. We were led to believe there was Wi-Fi available, but there is no Wi-Fi service at the campsites. The only reliable connection is near the main office, where there aren't even power outlets to charge a laptop or phone while using it. If internet access is important to you, this is something you should know before booking. The biggest issue, however, was their handling of cancellations. Despite canceling our reservation more than 14 days in advance, they refused to honor what we understood to be their refund policy. The lack of flexibility and unwillingness to stand behind their stated policy left us feeling frustrated and misled. Overall, this was the worst camping experience I've ever had. Between the poor customer service, excessive costs, hidden fees, lack of transparency, and disappointing cancellation process, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this campground to others.

We both had work early in the morning and had a good night sleep. Neither of us had breakfast here throughout the week based on busy work schedules, the breakfast was an extra fee, and all the reviews were bad. In regard to the negative aspects, was primarily due to bar and front desk staff. Our second night, hubs joined his coworkers at the hotel bar upon their return from their work dinner. I met them shortly after. They close the bar really early and it took forever to be acknowledged to order my first drink. The bartender kept walking away from the bar. By the time I finally was able to order my drink, the rest of our crew was ready for their second round. It was close to closing and we all just wanted another drink but it was impossible to grab his attention and we found out it was due to the system going down. This was going on for an hour. We had a different bartender our 3rd night and he was fabulous. He exactly like Keegan-Michael Key but we only saw him one night. I think it was our last night that we decided to eat dinner at the bar. I guess there are a lot of regulars there because many of the patrons were familiar with the staff. While we were sitting at the bar, the young front desk girl disappeared for a good hour. Guests were trying to check in and our bartender left several times trying to look for her. It was a mess. Now mind you, there is nothing within walking distance of this hotel where you can get food or alcoholic beverages. I think the market in the lobby had like 4 beers stocked that night and once those were sold, they never restocked it-for the remainder of our stay. One of my favorite factors were the free water for Hilton Honors members was Poland Spring! It's my favorite and they stocked that daily in the market! We requested a late check out so we could pack after a week's stay and not feel rushed for a 5 hour drive. It was a miracle for once and housekeeping did not knock before our late checkout time! I was so appreciative of that!

It has a full kitchen which is always appreciated for family with children. Our room has a clear view of the Acutney Ski area, which is only operational on weekends (run by volunteers and the resort do not sell discount tickets but does post their hours). Each building has locker rooms for your skis, but be sure to pack a lock so you can keep your equipment safe. They also have complementary laundry for guests with 3 detergent pack in your room. The main building (Windham Building) has most of the amenities such as the restaurant, gym, activity room, theater (showings at 10:30 am and 7 pm with complementary warm popcorn) and the arcade. They also have a billard room with ping pong tables and fooz ball table. Our kids definitely enjoyed these onsite activities. The indoor pool is in a separate building in itself. HUGE pool but no sauna or hot tubes. Why?? Such a shame as it would be so much more enjoyable with these adds. When we were there, there were barely anyone at the pool because of lack of activity. If they were to add these, I'm sure it would get utilized a lot more by guests. Do try the onsite restaurant, Maple Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. It closes on Tuesday and Wednesday. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.

Floors creaking, beds squeaking, music, conversations, etc. I would recommend bringing headphones and not coming here with children unless you can rent all the rooms for your group or you might have some explaining to do in regards to the sounds coming from other rooms... This is my first BnB experience so maybe this is the norm but I was not prepared for it. As far as I can tell there aren't any enforced quiet hours here. Shampoo/conditioner provided - no body soap. Hairdryer, iron, and hangers available in room. Extra blankets in room. Fridge available for guest storage. Ability to use microwave in kitchen. Parking lot in the back, parking included in stay. We ended up reserving the only room which does not have an en suite bathroom for $100/night, which includes a very tasty continental breakfast. (The bathroom for the Monk room where we stayed is just across the hallway.) The breakfast included delicious spiced oatmeal with a variety of add-ons (walnuts, chopped apples, honey, real maple syrup). Also available were hard boiled eggs, great coffee, a variety of teas, excellent bread and jams, bananas, apples, oranges, homemade pumpkin bread, Greek yogurt, granola. I peeked into a couple of the other rooms which were not currently rented and they all seem to be spacious and nicely decorated. Right now I am hanging out in the comfy shared living room space after wearing myself out XC skiing at the Woodstock Nordic Center this morning - only about a mile away.
