If I had to choose between sleeping in the ally ways of Chicago or sleeping atleast one night in this motel I would rather bunk with the rats in the alleyway and have a chicago style hotdog. This is the WORST place I have ever been to. I walked in the building and was greeted with a strong smell of cigarettes and a nasty carpet that probably has never been cleaned or changed since the motel was built in the who knows when. We walked into our room expecting decency because we are at "Quality Inn" not only was there huge period stains that looked like they came from an ape but dead bugs on my blanket non the less our lamp looked like snacks for the moths which were covered in holes. I also discovered a Santa in our room which was the nicest thing the room came with. Our bathroom looked like something out of horror movie. The floors were sticky along with the walls that I could probably walk up them. I'm not sure if it's wizz, jizz, or I don't even know. When I requested for new sheets because ours looked like one of those reusable period pads the man over the phone was yelling at us speaking in random tongue that nobody in the 21st century has ever learned. He hung up on us and threw the sheets at us through the door. Not only were they sheets also disgusting and had a cigarette burn mark but were thinner then a 1 ply piece of toilet paper. My friend later tried opening our door because only one of our 2 keycards worked and the manager saw us struggling for the 2 seconds we were and said he say us on the camera and that our phone had to be in a 90 mile radius from the lock. This man who works here is literally in the wall. I had really important business to attend to but I didn't know what time it was because the clock said "A:44" I have no clue what time that is even referring to. This was in one night. The morning after the horrific sleep on that godawful mattress I went downstairs to see if I could even find anything edible to eat for breakfast. Let's just say it contained of mushy mutated apples, powdery waffles, and watery snotty eggs. I still have one more dreadful night in this place and I'm counting down the seconds before I can go home. Please save your money and stay tuned for night 2 and pray we don't get broken into (the door handle fell off) read more

Really disappointing experience at this hotel. I booked this hotel specifically for my 8 year old because she had a state gymnastics competition in the area and they had rooms available with a hot tub in the room. She wanted to soak before the meet. At check in, the man working would not give us the room because we had children with us and he said only 2 people fit in the room. We explained that our daughter would only be in the room for the hours before her meet and then would be staying with teammates. He then said the kids couldn't go in the hot tub, then changed to only one kid in the hot tub but refused to let us even see the room. Our other two children are young twins that always stay in bed with us anyway. The state allows children to stay free when they sleep in existing bedding. However, he refused to budge and give us the room we booked . He offered another room that was disgusting with the tv unplugged pulled from wall and turned backwards. He offered this "at the same price " as our more expensive "king suite". When commented that his rules were no where stated on the website or anywhere else and we would let others know in any reviews, he then said he wouldn't rent anything because he was "threatened". It's the Quality In, you manage your expectations. It's a little outdated, but will get you through the night. We are city folks, so sometimes we may have higher expectations. We are in town for a wedding and the Comfort Inn Suites were sold out. The bathroom was somewhat of a weird experience. The toilet seat was broken and rusty. Above the shower is a heating lamp, I had never experienced this. The only heating lamps I'm used to are those in the New York City storefront windows of takeout restaurants in Chinatown. Was I being prepared for a window roast? -LOL. read more

The hotel and room were both very clean. We came for a graduation, so the location was perfect. Breakfast was supposed to be included. At 6:30 a.m. the hot food consisted of one egg patty, one biscuit and no gravy. We decided to wait. Then, at 8:30 a.m. there was still ONE egg patty, ONE biscuit and STILL NO GRAVY. There were two people behind the desk. One was a man, who appeared to be working, and the other was a woman who appeared to be hiding out. Neither would make eye contact with us, and there was no one in the kitchen area at all. We ended up going to McDonald's. Very disappointing and not at all what we're used to when visiting a Comfort or Quality Inn. read more

My sister and I stayed here on a Sunday night. The room was only $60, I think. Clean room. The staff is friendly and they seem like they really care about their customers. The staff let the kids play in the pool past the closing time, which I thought was nice. If I am back in Dekalb and have to spend the night, I would stay here. read more

You get what you pay for. I've been here two nights, checking out in a few hours. Overall, this was a disappointing stay for me. The first issue I ran into was my door not locking on the outside so I threw on the "do not disturb" sign and hoped nothing would happen while I went to work. But after getting the manager, it turned out the batteries needed changing. I noticed no clocks anywhere in my room. Nor is there a drinking fountain anywhere in the hotel. I walked through both floors, thirsty because I had foolishly forgotten my own refillable bottle. Then I filled up a plastic bottle with sink water, and that again was foolish because the water was opaque and slightly pink. Dumped it out right away and resolved to wait until breakfast. The part of my room that I had the most gripes about was my shower. The walls were grossly cracked and very old, but that's normal for hotels, I guess. The water took forever to get lukewarm, and it just barely got hot. Additionally, I had one of those adjoining rooms with a door in the middle, so it was annoying to hear the other room's TV being blasted through this middle door. Otherwise, I liked the vanity area, the armoire, and bed. Always pristinely cleaned and made up by staff and they made sure I was restocked on everything. I'm not much of a breakfast person so I can't really comment on what was offered but it looked like they had the standard hotel fare. This hotel also has a small pool and even smaller exercise room -- good options if you really want them. Cost about $150 for 2 nights. read more

We got in late around 10 and we were the 3rd guests to check in. Very quiet hotel kinda away from the city & the owner takes good care of his property. This motel was beyond gross. The first floor reeked of smoke; not just a little, but to the point where it was giving me a headache. The room was filthy, gross splatters on the walls, the carpet was obviously not vacuumed, towels tossed haphazardly, a huge splooge of something on the alarm clock, several stains on both comforters, the drapes were about to fall of the wall, mold all over the bathroom and the door chain was half busted out of the wall. It advertised that this place had a gym. Which I asked about upon check-in, the lady responded that it was on the second floor. I found the gym but it was closed and locked (as in with a dead bolt so you couldn't open it with your room key). I then went to find the front desk lady. She was GONE. Totally gone. At 4:30 pm. I hung around the desk for a while, she did not reappear. I wasn't about to even touch the nasty phone to try to call, until I sanitized it. So I went out to dinner and got some Clorox wipes. Upon my return there was still no one at the desk. Disgusting. I hated this place. If I could give it negative stars I would. read more

Very pleasant and accommodating. Larry was very nice! Our baseball team was in the area for a tournament and we had an early game. Larry arranged for breakfast to start early so that the boys could get something to eat before the game! One of the better places to stay in this area. Rooms were clean and updated. read more

This place is just poorly taken care of. The halls reek of old staleness. The rooms are clean almost to the point where you think you might not wear sandles to walk around in. The hospitality needs something to be desired, just don't ask the owner for more towels or you will get the third degree as to why. read more

We had NO hot water for two DAYS. Tub had over three inches of (cold ) water, drain plugged. ANTS on the floor. Locks on doors wore out, got locked out of our room while the owner tried to remove the window screen and window to let us back in. Toilet paper holder fell off of wall. Towel rack loose and held with one screw. Two other guest complained of NO HOT WATER, the OWNER of the hotel was told of the situation several times. Blue tarps and patches on the roof, water stains and plaster missing on the ceiling on second floor, old a/c units, refrig. and debre stacked in corner by the stairs and I could go on. Will never stay at a Quality Inn again. read more

Been here one night and everything has been on point so far! The value and quality are more than I expected. The continental breakfast was great this morning! We got the 2 double bed room and everything is very clean and neat which I love. Awesome comfortable beds with a lot of pillows, like almost too many pillows lol. Spoke with the owner this morning and he was kind and generous. Were here thru Friday visiting from Georgia and look forward to the rest of our stay. Thanks Quality :) read more

Great Price. WiFi is ok.... It cuts out a lot, but its workable. But most importantly, the beds here are perfect to jump on with your shoes. Height of the ceiling is a little close for i am 5'9 but kids and anyone 5'0 and under could possibly get more distance. read more

All of the hotels in the area were completely booked for an event we're attending and I was at my wits end! Our team had reservations at this hotel until a certain date but even this hotel was booked. We have a long way to drive for the weekend event and absolutely need a hotel. Larry was patient and continued searching and moving things around until he was able to free up a Friday and Saturday room for us! He wasn't irritated by my pressing --just pure kindness the whole way through. As a business owner this is truly the kind of customer service I would hope that my employees give to our clients. Stayed there with a large group and they were exceptionally accomadating. Gave us an extra room for free when we had an small issue with the bathroom door not closing all the way. They also moved our rooms for us so we could check in early. They even came in and turned up the hot tub for us. Super great service all around! read more
