Alternator went out on the way to New Mexico.. dispatcher answered after 9:00 pm. The dispatcher stated that they had thier own tow truck and could arrive at the location in an hour. Byron did arrive around 10:15. He towed my car to the shop and offered to call the parts person at home in order to fix it that night. I decided to wait until morning for repairs; Byron even transported my friend and I to lodging and then to the shop when my car was done at 10:00 the next morning! This company is the predatory animals that feed on out of town folk who break down. It took 4 1/2 hours to get to me, and when they finally did, it was clear that the "mechanic" had no idea of how to work on Diesel engines . He was there for no more than an hour, didn't fix my truck, or even know what was wrong with it, then had the odsity to hand me a bill for 820.00!!!!! Do not call these people!!! SUPERB & QUALITY SERVICE! On Sunday, October 3, 2021, the Serpentine Belt on our truck broke between Childress and Quanah Texas on Hwy 287. We were pulling a travel trailer at the time. Called our insurance company for a tow. The towing company called for our location and informed us that they were 1-1/2 hrs. away and that they were only able to tow our truck, not the trailer, and they were not able to carry any passengers either. That meant we were going to have to leave our trailer on the side of the road, find a ride to the nearest town and get a hotel. What a NIGHTMARE! Since we were only approximately 4 miles west of Quanah, Tx, we decided to Google "towing near us" and Quanah Service Center came up. So we called them and explained our situation and location. Trey and Jeff were there in less than 30 minutes. They towed both Truck & Trailer and pulled us up to their store parking lot. They plugged our travel trailer up to their shop so that we could use it to sleep in and be comfortable. They made it a point to make us feel comfortable and safe. They told us they would order the part needed to repair the truck first thing in the morning and would have us back on the road by noon. They came by later that night to check on us and to see if we needed anything. The next day the part arrived, they repaired our truck, inspected it, and the trailer, checked and filled our tires and had us back on the road before noon as promised. Not only did we receive the BEST SERVICE ever, the cost of that entire ordeal was unbelievably lower than we had expected. The entire staff at Quanah Service Center are the Best in Texas! All were super friendly and accommodating and we just can't say enough good things about them. We will forever be grateful and thankful to all those nice folks who made what could have been a NIGHTMARE a comfortable experience. Thank you again and my God Bless you ALL! My mother and I were on our way to Colorado when we had a tire blow out. We called a few nearby businesses and left voicemails, and Quanah Service Center responded within five minutes. They drove out to us, replaced our tire, and got us back on the road in about an hour. I would highly recommend them! read more

RIP OFF !! We called this service company out to adjust the brakes on one of our trailers. Their service truck got stuck on the way to us. When they finally did arrive it took them 30 minutes to fix our trailer. They charged us for 3 hours labor at $144.00/hour plus a $100.00 service call !!!!! On Sun/Sep 10th I was on my way home from Colorado towing my 32' travel trailer. I stopped in Childers at Pilot to fill up with premium fuel. I drove to Quanah TX. I slowed down for town speed limits. Heading out of town I tried to accelerate. My truck bogged down. I couldn't get it going. Coasting at the end of town I quickly turned into a lot to get off the road. I called GoodSam. A tow service showed up shortly after. My truck would start but would run then die. I assumed the electric fuel pump died. The tow service took me to Quanah Service Center. GoodSam picks the closest auto service possible. The tow truck driver told me the reputation there was pretty bad. He warned me to watch for over pricing and poor work. He also referred me to another shop just up the road. This was about 7am. Being Sunday I got into my travel trailer to get some sleep. Most businesses in small towns are not open on Sunday. Later I called the owners to let them know I was there. The lady I spoke to was very nice, said no problem at all, and offered to come into town to take me to the store if needed. I had pretty much everything I needed so I settled in for the night. Monday morning the service center opened on time and they were ready to take a look at my truck. Within 30 minutes the gas tank had been removed. This all was going on as they were servicing several semi-tractor rigs that had pulled in. They were also locating a replacement fuel pump. They found one out of Wichita Falls, TX and it would be 1pm before they would have it. The mechanic removed the pump and immediately asked where I had fueled up? He said, that's not gasoline in your tank, that's diesel! I know I grabbed the black handled nozzle at Pilot and pressed the premium button. I smelled the fuel, it wasn't gasoline. We did a burn and evaporation test, the fuel from Pilot was diesel. The mechanic said some of the smaller independent gas stations sometimes use the same filler nozzle that fits unleaded vehicles for diesel fuel. He doubted that was the case with the large Pilot gas station. The conclusion is that when the under-ground tanks at Pilot were being refilled, the tanker truck dumped the wrong fuel into the premium holding tank. Diesel and gasoline do not mix unless agitated, such as after filling the tank and also most likely why I made it the 30 miles from Childers to Quanah. The slow down driving through Quanah allowed the separation to take place and push the diesel into the throttle body, so the truck would not accelerate. We dumped the fuel. Waiting for the pump, the ladies in the office offered me some slices of Pizza, which was really kind. I have food in my trailer, but nothing comforts like pizza! Installed the new pump, put the tank back into the truck, dumped 5 gallons of gas in and the truck started right up. The mechanic told me to drive the truck across the street and fill with gas. After filling, I started the truck up and was pulling out of the station. The truck bogged down! I pulled the shift lever into 1st gear to get the engine revving and the bog cleared. This occurred a couple more times but finally stopped and continued to run normally. I figured there must be some diesel still in the fuel tank. I returned to the service center ready to pay for the work, hoping that I wasn't going to be presented with some $1,500.00 bill. I had looked online and most Chevrolet dealerships charge $850.00+ for install of a new pump in an Avalanche. I was handed the bill, and it was a whopping $667.89! Wait, that's cheaper than Chevrolet by almost $200.00! What a surprise after what I had been told and read online! As I was looking at the bill I was telling the ladies about the hesitation and bogging at the gas station across the street. I was promptly handed my credit card back and told "please go drive the truck down the road and make sure it's ok". Not only did she have me do that but she told the mechanic "go with him; make sure that his truck is ok so he can get home." Wow! We drove down the highway, had absolutely no problem at all. The mechanic and I chatted a bit about the reputation of the service center. He told me that over six months ago and prior, there were problems. The former management had some questionable business practices. The mechanic came on board to help his sister who took over management. The prior fella was made a tenant of the state. We didn't go into details about that other than to say that they were trying very hard to rebuild the reputation of the service center. I promised that I would post my experience with the Quanah Service Center. The mechanics were great (down to earth, but that's country folk and my kind of people), the office ladies were great, the work was done quickly, and at a very fair price. I can only give praise and a very big THANK YOU to all at the Quanah Service Center for their kindness and work to get me home. read more
