My family and I were traveling from Houston to New Mexico, to visit family for the Fourth of July weekend and attend a family funeral. It was already an emotional trip, when midway through our travels, we unexpectedly heard a pop in the engine, the vehicle started running hot, and we ended up stranded on the side of the road in 103° heat with no family or friends anywhere nearby. I called the local U-Haul location while trying to figure out what to do, and they referred me to Hills Motors Towing. That is when I met Jeremy, the owner/operator. I can honestly say I have never met a more family-oriented, customer-service-focused business owner. Jeremy agreed to pick us up and tow us, and he arrived within under 30 minutes. Once he looked at the vehicle, he was able to quickly identify the likely issue. Even more impressive, he had the knowledge, experience, and parts inventory available to get us taken care of right there. Within about two hours, he had my family and me fixed up and back on the road. The pricing was more than fair, so much so that I felt compelled to leave a tip. Top notch service! I was stranded on the highway near Hedley on 11/30 around 5pm when my rental car exploded. Hertz didn't offer any help but Hill's Towing came to our rescue! The sweetest, kindest young man picked us up, provided us with water and drove us and our dog about an hour to Amarillo. He was so considerate and helpful and wouldn't even accept a tip! My father and I broke down about 40 miles north of Childress on a major holiday. We knew towing options would be limited and getting work done near impossible. We waited over an hour for our insurance to send a tow, they could not find drivers and by the sounds of it weren't going to. Hills Motor was the only business answering the phones. They were quick, direct, and honest. Once requested they arrived maybe 45 minutes later prepared to tow us back to town. On the way they inquired about hotel arrangements and knew we were staying a ways away from the actual shop. Without asking our driver offered to stop at the hotel to drop us/the essentials for the night off. At the Hotel. We were told that at 8:00 AM they would be arriving for the day and ensure our vehicle was addressed and repaired as quick as possible. Repairs were complete and we left with the vehicle before 11:00AM. These gentlemen were professional at all times and wonderful to deal with. Worth and blew out her clutch about 10 mins outside of Childress. Jeremy was on the scene and ready to help before we even called him. My 18 year old daughter was alone, in the middle of nowhere and this angel saved the day. Not only did he pick here and the car up, he dropped her off at a local hotel and had the clutch redone in a little over 1 day. The price was fair and work was great. I can't say how nice and helpful Jeremy and his crew were. I had engine problems on my way from Colorado to Dallas as I was on the way to get to my father in Dallas who had just had a stroke. In the middle of the night, my car broke down. After having it towed back into town to a motel, the guys actually came out the next morning to the motel to help me get it up and running so they could get it to their shop. They dropped everything to help me in my time of need. The repairs were done quickly and at a very fair cost. Jeremy showed concern in following up a couple of days later to ask both how the car was running and, more importantly, about the health of my father. Our car broke down about 5 miles away from Childress while we were moving our car from California to Texas. We just barely managed to get the car back into town. This was the only place we could find that was open at the time. The owner knew we were desperate and took a look at our car with his Mechanic. He told us the car needed a brand new A/C compressor, condenser, belt, pulley, etc. He said that the total price would be around $2500. I asked if there was anyway to get around not replacing the A/C because we needed to be home asap for work reasons. He said there was no way and we would have to leave it with him, he would need 7 days to fix it. Long story short, we left, went to O'reillys auto parts down the street to get a quote on the A/C and other parts needed. They told us he had just called for a quote. The part was $400 from them, he wanted about $1500 for the same thing. I did some research online and found that someone with the exact same model car as mine had the same issue, i was able to order a new pulley for my car, get a shorter belt and bypass the A/C completely. We had to stay in a hotel for 2 days waiting for the part. I fixed it myself for 60 dollars. If i coåuld rate negative stars I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE - DO NOT PURCHASE OR HAVE YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED BY THIS CROOK!! read more

The alternator belt on my 1988 VW Vanagon blew out in Childress. Hill's Motors towed me in. I was worried since it's not a Vanagon-specific shop, but I didn't really have too many options. Fortunately the mechanic there was familiar with these vans. He could have just put a new belt on and sent me on my way, but instead he found the root of the problem (my alternator bearing) and we ordered a new alternator, which they hung and put on some new relays for me. He also checked for coolant leaks and took the time to explain everything he was doing to me, which I greatly appreciated. They even drove me to and from my hotel while they were working on the van. read more
