This may seem lengthy... But its also exactly what all the negative reviewers have been saying, but I bet they didn't have their loved ones there for 5 days for them to be sent back to the hospital dude to lack of care to then Pass away days later! Be afraid of this place. Seriously that seem nice and like they care. But as soon as you're in their care. Nah, then you're a paycheck. Literally look into ANY other options even if they cost more... This place.... is a sad EXCUSE for a Healthcare home! If I could, Id have this place CLOSED! I say this out of anger but also discussed. My father (61) came to this facility to gain strength in his legs and core after a month long stay at Virginia Mason Hospital. Had trouble standing and walking. He was at this garbage shoot of a place for FIVE DAYS! During that time he contracted Many bed sores (as it'll literally takes an hour for a nurse to respond, in which she may or not speak English, or might not be the right one to help, so they'll leave for another 20 to get help.) Also from inactivity his legs had swollen immensely, to the point of cutting into his circulation, not an exaggeration but a direct quote from the hospital he was readmitted to! He was REFUSED COUGH SYRUP even though the hospital had given him some the day he was transferred and had no effect on why he was there. Now, they do offer 1hr a day physical therapy... Maybe, some days he was told a time and PT would never show and nurses never cared. They'd tell him 1:15, then 3:30, then tomorrow, and repeat... Anyway due to the lack of their follow up with patients and lack of care my father was returned to Virginia Mason. In which on return nurses told me "bandages around his legs were cutting into him, they had hand written 'DO NOT REMOVE-PT' on the bandages! Why?! He shouldn't have been sent there, they should be closed for this" - verbatim quote from the Virginia Mason Admissions Nurse, while literally doctors were taking many notes of everything wrong on him. I'm fulling convinced the lack of care at this place Killed my father. Thats a harsh accusation! You're right, but so am I. As why would someone from one of the best hospitals in the area, be released to these THIEVES and then need to be returned to the Hospital couple days later to then pass, specifically from lack of care. read more

Well I had a pleasant stay at Queen Anne Healthcare and nurses they were a like daytime nurses were very extremely helpful and friendly like page and sage and a few other nurses and staff members like Joy cam they were very very good Alex and they were just very helpful to head nurses so yeah if you want your loved one to get better that's the place to go. you get the right roommate you can really enjoy getting better there and it makes you feel better so I really recommend Queen Anne Healthcare to anybody who wants to get Rehabilitation it that's the place to go space thank you Queen Anne Healthcare from Tony Bennett read more

My Father has been a resident going on 10 years now. I was really afraid that moving him into a care facility would be one of the worst thing that I could ever do to him. It was the best thing; He has, and does enjoy lining at Queen Anne; He loves the Staff, his personal care that they give him, and for him the place is perfect for what he wants to do every day. From the day I start the process of moving him in, I was totally impressed with the Office, Floor, and Medical Staff. They have always kept me in the loop about what is going on with my Dad, they go beyond what I expected them to do, and he is made to feel like he is part of a family. Great Place. If I could give a negative rating I would, my brother that's 23 was admitted to this facility after being in a coma from a car accident in October. He got transferred to this facility around January and had the worst experience ever. He is always positioned incorrectly in his wheelchair. When I press the call light, no one responses for 30 mins to an hour, which is a problem because he is a fall risk. I went to visit him recently and he was in his chair leaking on the ground and the manager in charge said they haven't checked on him in over 2 hours. When I asked why hasn't anyone checked on him. I was told they were short staffed and he was fine considering he's a fall risk. I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME TO THIS FACILITY BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS IN THIS FACILITY. There's a reason why we are transferring him to our house where someone can care for him instead of this horrible, shitty, don't care facility!!!! My mom was here for two weeks and the neglect was astounding. On three separate occasions (one witnessed) nurses bumped my mom's ankle where she had an open wound. Nurses also failed to properly dress my mom's wound. She ended up getting pneumonia and no nurses or doctors took the step of testing her without my urging. I also repeatedly asked nurses not to wake my mom up at 8am as she wasn't getting any sleep; they ignored my wishes on two occasions. The place is dingy, dirty and dilapidated with residents screaming and moaning at all hours. Nurses do not actively look for health issues that may be developing, they simply do the bare minimum and move on. When confronted, they are defensive and resentful. My mom nearly died here. There are much better options in the Seattle area -- stay far away from this one. read more

This nurising home is the worst one I knew. My dad was transfered to their facility after a stroke. This was totally a disaster. No body response his call, they ignor his requests even when their employee is in the room. My dad can't move by himself because of the stroke. The second day after moving in, he fell on the ground when he tried to get some water because he was very thirsty and no one response his call for very long time. He broke his nose, bleeded and laid on the ground for over 2 hours. Note: it is WINTER!!! More: they let him stay with the shit after defecation for one night, they let him stay on chair with a very thin cloth, almost naked. They ignor his request of cloth, when they were chating with his roomate. The saddest thing is these things offen happen when my dad was having video chat with my mum. They can't speek English, they are so helpless with this facility. read more

My stepfather had come here for rehabilitation after illness that impacted his mobility. Overall the staff were friendly and respectful. There were occasional staff who were gruff or didn't pay attention, but most were responsive. The goal of the rehabilitation floor was to help people gain strength to return home again. PT and OT are a daily occurence (even on weekends) and other needed therapies happen as well. Now, just as with hospitalizations, all family members need to be VOCAL and involved. Don't expect things to just happen. Be sure to communicate with the staff frequently about needs and wishes and then follow up. This place is horrible. I was put in there against my will when I was in a coma. I did not belong there, because it's mainly older people who have other concerns. They do not rehabilitate and the lady in charge is very uncaring about people who have hallucinations and confusion after a coma. They seemed more interested in being deprecating towards me and telling my loved one that I had anger issues. You would have anger issues too if the put alarm bracelet on your wrist and make you feel like only a handful of people that might escape. Not only was that the worst, but the doctor at Harborview had recommended I go there, the same doctor that did a phony UA on me for two weeks in a row while I was comatose and gave me the same results when it wasn't possible. The the primary care provider took his word and yanked my pain agreement. This place is so bad that I saw three people get admitted and taken in for stroke surgery with two of them worsening. read more

The staff are excellent. It is an older building, They keep the facility very clean. Nursing staff very kind and took excellent care of my mother. The staff were calm, competent and assisted us through our entire rehab stay. I certainly would recommend them to anyone needing care after hospitalization and before returning home. read more

Lost medication, running out of medication, running out of incontinence underwear, losing laundry, no set schedule for physical therapy, some staff snotty, over an hour to answer a patient's light, stolen property. That's just some of it. If more happens, I will post. read more

I have never been so shocked and disappointed at the outcome of my mother's stay at this facility. She was fooled into signing power of attorney for them to control her finances promising to pay her rent at her residence while she rehabbed...then when I encouraged her to go home to check her place they petitioned and got a no contact order against me. When she arrived at her home there was an eviction notice on the door and since she had never seen such a document with her name on it, she returned to the facility in fear of homeless. By some sick twisted coincidences she died during the night shift on the same day her finds had been totally depleted. Prior to the no contact order being served I would call to check on her and was ALWAYS told that she was at bingo. It was not until 7 days of her passing that I discovered her death. Enough time for the staff to claim all of our lifetime possessions in her residence and storage facility while I was in San Diego getting her an apartment. Do not trust a word these people say and if they are there now I advise you to get them out asap or they will be trapped and euthanized eventually. read more

My grandma was placed here after she had fallen out of her bed. During her stay, I discovered that the only nurse who really seemed intuitive and gave the reassuring feeling that she cared about all of the patients was the Korean night nurse. She was the only one to figure out that my grandma didn't want to eat in bulk so she would make her rounds and come back every now and then and give her more sips of ensure. The other nurses would force her to drink it (she spits food out if she doesn't want it and it seems stressful for her to be forced to drink or eat if she really doesn't want to). The orderly during the day, a tall fellow, he was very helpful too. Him and the night nurse deserve recognition and I hope Kindred realizes how lucky they are to have these two individuals. I went daily so I could see that he interacted really well with patients. Once of the night orderlies kept removing my grandma's gloves and hat even though I left a note saying that she gets cold and needs her gloves and hat. It really bothered me that since they're doing laundry daily, the didn't notice that she would wipe her mouth with her hands/gloves and it would get crusty and dirty and no one would clean it. I added in the note that if they didn't want to/didn't have time to clean it, then please let my dad or me know so that we could clean it. It just seemed like a health/cleanliness issue--but it didn't seem to bother anyone at the hospital. The other thing was when I first visited her, I was told that they would clip her nails. This was before I brought gloves for her, and i noticed that her nails were long and dirty. Two days later, I brought a nail clipper and in the process of clipping them, a day nurse said that they could do it. I mentioned that they said that already but never did so I did it myself. There was a lot of gunk under them and she would kind of gnaw on them occasionally. It makes me sad that the day nurses didn't notice this and think anything of it. Does that mean that they are understaffed for the patients that they have? My dad and I also asked if we could bring in a microwave to reheat drinks for my grandma because she doesn't like cold drinks (most elderly Chinese folks don't like cold things) and they told us no. Then, for some reason, his brother asked and they said ok. How come when my dad asks, it's a safety hazard, but when someone else asks, it's ok? How are these decisions made? The worst thing though, was when my grandma died. On her death certificate the doctors wrote down that she had dementia and Alzheimers. She was cognizant and recognized us. She knew that she wasn't home and just wanted to go home. In California it's regulation that there is always someone on site who can translate for patients who don't speak English but that wasn't the case with Kindred. Is this a Washington State thing? When I told my nurse friends in California they were all horrified. Even more so when I told them that Kindred won a lot of awards. I hope that I never have to set foot back in that place. read more

I am currently staying here for the foreseeable future. While i absolutely enjoy the staff. the buildings infrastructure make it difficult to enjoy time here. The Internet is the worst, all devices that i tried keep getting kicked off line, i was told by a staff member that it happens a lot. There is a severe lack of electrical outlets. there is no two way response to a call to the nurses desk, you press a button and hope somebody responds. the other day i pressed my button cause i needed a bedpan, 15 minutes later a staff member came in i told him what i needed and he left the room to go find somebody else too do it. after a few more minutes i threw a plastic dish cover at the door to try to get somebody's attention and nobody heard, a few minutes later i threw a plastic coffee cup at the door. Nothing. after around 30 min. of no further response I decided to hell with it, I got up into my electric wheelchair while voiding my bowels at the same time. I rolled out to the nurses station and blew a gasket. I unloaded my anger at them and everybody else in earshot. the people themselves are great on an individual level, as a group it is ALMOST everyone for themselves. Ann the Physical Therapist as well as the other therapists are all beyond incredible (Also Alex). they are down to earth and talk to you on a real level. The steps to make this place great are relatively simple, and could be easily done. but more effort needs to be exerted. read more

We worked as best we could with the situation. We knew of no better, and we were assigned here for recovery from a fall. Because of this assignment, this review may have no impact on the business model. That said, let it be a warning. The staff can be compassionate, and they are very knowledgeable. However, the place smells like urine. People sit in wheelchairs at the elevators all day. Designer handbags and shoes were stolen (~$3000.), other things pilfered. The billing department struggled with collecting from the government. Because they were frustrated, they reported the financial POA to the Washington State Bar and Elder Abuse, though this was not appropriate. Overall, it is a C+. I am truly sorry to have to write this, because many of the individuals working there are lovely. But it was not a secure place, and we are grateful to have a remove from this place. read more

If you are considering placing a family member, significant other or even someone you loathe, please please reconsider. While this facility may have been award worthy in 2013 (proudly displayed on a rather weather weary banner at the entrance) it would be hard pressed to even be consider today, let alone receiving any accolades. The staff is constantly changing, poorly trained and, in many cases, unable to understand basic English. The ratio of patient to patient aide runs between 8-11 to which, taking into account breaks and shift change downtime, allows approximately 4 minutes per hour of patient care. Their self proclaimed PT and OT staff and facilities, which on the surface are indeed impressive on first sight, is merely an in-house scam to maximize billing to insurance and/or Medicare/Medicaid. Patients are routinely left unattended and disrespected, particularly those who are cognitively challenged and unaware of the situation. I could continue ad naseaum with quality of diet and food service, attention to patient's personal hygiene, etc, etc...but the bottom line is...IMHO avoid this facility at all cost read more
