This is a really cute place, with amazing ambiance, and potential. The staff are friendly. I would however, recommend a few opportunities to make it even better. I was interested in drip coffee. They had only two varietals, which are not dripped to order, but rather reside in a thermos. They were also not single origin, but a blend. I think it is harder to make an amazing blend, vs just have really good single sourced, freshly roasted, dripped to order coffee. I think this idea is worth exploring. Secondly, the price point. The price of a cup of coffee was very reasonable, at under $4 per small cup. However, if one wanted to purchase beans, it was something to the effect of $50+ something dollars per 2 lbs. La colombe by comparison is $32-37 per 2lbs. I think there is room in the market for coffee which is perhaps more expensive, but then it has to be substantially better than the competition. The blend, I tried was okay, but not something I would invest a premium into. read more

I've had this coffee shop bookmarked for awhile and decided to finally stop by. The inside is very cute! They have seating available inside and outside. The barista was very friendly. I got an iced honey oak milk latte and raspberry muffin. I really loved the latte, it was very smooth. Was not a fan of the muffin, would try another pastry next time. Queen City is a nice quiet coffee shop with a warm vibe perfect for a cortado and pastry. Prices are fair and the service is great. Spent countless days working and studying there. Parking is a bit of a mixed bag but worth it to visit these folks. Coffee quality is top notch and they are definitely knowledgeable about their process. Came here based on recommendations from a few friends. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk and really loved it. Also tried a sip of my friends lavender latte and it was super unique, don't think I've ever tried something even close to that flavor profile before. Get: Honey Oatmilk Latte I loved the interior of this cafe! Exposed Brick Walls, leather sofas, succulents and a large farm table, and lots of sunlight! The baristas were super friendly here, asking where I was from and letting me know they actually have a pop up booth at Duke Farms, near where I live. You could tell that they really enjoyed coffee and loved to talk about it. I got two drinks while I was here, a pour over coffee , the Businde Washington Station - Burundi which had flavors of milky, Sugar Cane and Citrus. Citrusy coffees are hit or miss for me. This one was a miss, it may be due to personal preference. However, I really really enjoyed the Honey Oat Latte. It was like drinking a warm blanket. I also got the oat currant scone which was good but I think because it had some oat in it, it resulted in a very crumbly scone that was a bit hard to eat. I did like that it was probably healthier than most pastries that I get. All in all, I will be back to try more of their pour overs! read more

A shop dedicated to coffee. We had the mocha latte which was strong and rich, and had pain au chocolat coming from Balthazar Bakery, a real plus! The interior is pretty, modern and minimalist. The barista and staff were very friendly and helpful. They have almond and oat milk as well, and do half decafs if requested. The vibe is laidback and chill. Maher, the owner is very friendly as well and chatted with us and played a game of Connect Four with my two little ones. Parking is a bit hard to find but not impossible. We love supporting small businesses in the area but after today's visit, we will be coming not just to support small businesses, but also because their coffee is GREAT. read more

What a sweet place! From the owners to the layout, it feels welcoming and homey. Their house coffee is all pour over and $3. They have medium, dark, and decaf - try them all! They also have almond and oat milk, specifically Oatly oat milk (the best!). They get pastries fresh from a bakery and are discussing the menu they'll use going forward. Coffee, baked goods, staff - all great! (Especially Savannah - she's the best!) My only issue has to do with the service when they open during the weekdays. On several occasions, (and it's happened to my wife as well) my coffee or coffees have stopped being made to make this one individual's coffee when she's seen pulling up or walks in the establishment. This isn't best practice or fair for that matter, as we all have to get to work. We're there at exactly 7am for a reason. If I would have left my tip cash, I would have taken it back. This is unacceptable and should be addressed. I believe the US currency has the same value for all of us. Please don't let this be the reason why I stop buying my coffee from you. I hate doing this, but what drove me to leave this negative review is that the young lady was almost done making my coffee, and then just stopped! No, this doesn't work for me. Good first experience! We saw their booth at Duke Farms farmers market a week or two ago. So we decided to stop by their actual shop today as we were in the Plainfield area for other activities. The place was clean and inviting. The woman/barista who helped me was friendly and helpful. We got the iced honey oat milk latte and the iced Spanish latte. I preferred the honey latte, while my wife preferred the Spanish latte, but we agreed that both were delicious. So I've never actually walked inside their doors, but we have ordered from them on Uber Eats. Their Spanish Latte is somehow the most delicious latte I've ever ever had in my life. I'm a little bit of a coffee nerd (bordering on snobbery), and I am in love with this latte. It tastes like fall in a cup, the espresso is smooth and inviting, the spices are perfect, and the touch of condensed milk makes it an absolute comfort drink. It's so nice to have a legitimate, unique, independent coffee house in my radius. read more

They have pastries that goes well with the beverages. The shop is nice and clean. The artwork on the wall gives you that New York coffee shop feel which I love. And it changes every month. Which is cool. The staff is amazing. Very attentive. Well spoken and are out to help you choose what to drink if you are a first time buyer. I always order a chai latte with two pumps of vanilla and oat milk. I recommend that drink. Lol. I was going to give it four stars because I really would love for them to make breakfast or lunch to go with the amazing coffee but I'm sure that will be changing so seeing that this place is always adding new things.
