She never made me feel rushed, never made me feel like I had a dumb question and answered any questions I could have possibly had at every appointment. This was so assuring as a first time mom. I would recommend her to anyone and will absolutely go back and see her for my next pregnancy and also GYN needs. The nurses and ultra sound techs were also super nice!!! They have a large waiting room and only once during my pregnancy did I have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes to be called back. They do have a strict late policy and the one time I was late, the receptionist was a bit sassy, so make sure you are on time! A couple times she wasn't in the office so I had to see other providers. The mid wives I saw were all fabulous! I also saw Dr. Dehoff who I did not care for. It seemed like he was 'mansplaining' and I felt extremely rushed and like my questions weren't welcome. He said "do you have any questions as he opened the door to leave". I would not see him again but everyone else was amazing and I received the best care!!! When in the hospital delivering my daughter, the Dr's and mid wives from this practice were all really nice and listened to me/my concerns. Dr. Hyatt (only delivers babies, doesn't see office patients) was also very kind and great at his job. We love Dr. Wilson and Providence OBGYN!

I have debated posting this because I fear harassment from the general public and retaliation from…read moreNovant, Providence OBGYN and Phillip DeHoff, who have already hurt me and my family so much. However, because medical board complaints are not public, and because it is rare for doctors to face tangible consequences from such complaints, I view it as my duty to share this and inform Charlotte area women. My silence may protect me from harassment and retaliation, but it also protects doctors who are already protected by the institutions they work for. This only results in more women being hurt. So I am sharing this despite very being so frightened of what may come of it. On November 29, 2023, while sitting on my couch at home I started hemorrhaging bleeding through my pants on to my couch, scaring myself, my husband, and my boys. I was bleeding so much, I wouldn't have been allowed on a plane. I went to the Novant ER thinking I'd be treated promptly. I had an IUD and learned that I was pregnant with a blighted ovum (no fetal heartbeat, no baby, just an empty gestational sac). The on-call OBGYN was DeHoff. The next 15 hours were the worst of my life. It's hard for me to recount the events because one of the symptoms of the PTSD caused by those events is to feel like you're reliving them, so I am enclosing pictures of the complaint I filed against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board. You can see them in the practice pictures. Since I've started sharing this story, I've learned that a woman who I know from my sons' former preschool also filed a complaint against DeHoff with Novant and Providence OBGYN in September 2023, two months before I encountered him. This woman also informed her OBGYN Dr. Nora Arronte of her concerns regarding DeHoff and subsequently filed a complaint against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board, which is currently pending (like my complaint). Thus, Novant and Providence OBGYN (and at least one of Providence OBGYN's other physicians, Dr. Arronte) appear to have prior knowledge of this doctor's track record of harming women. My understanding is that since I submitted my complaint, De Hoff is no longer doing OB work, and is only doing GYN work. I do not know if this is as a result of the complaint, whether De Hoff has lost his hospital admission privileges or if this is the natural career progression of an aging doctor with multiple malpractice complaints pending before his licensing board. I am frightened to share this but view it as my civic duty to inform this community of someone I consider a public danger to women who remains employed by a "reputable" practice despite their apparent knowledge of his actions.

The childbirth education course gave me a really clear picture of what to expect from my hospital birth and what some of the choices I might have to make would entail. The knowledge I gained from the class allowed me to advocate for myself effectively during labor and ask clear questions of my medical team when they made a suggestion. This allowed me to have a really positive birth experience as a first time mom! The breathing techniques covered in both the childbirth and yoga classes and the mindset work we did were also immensely helpful in managing my pain.

I got connected later in my pregnancy due to me moving. However, with all of my personal situational events, Tashona didn't hesitate to go above and beyond in accommodating my family and I every step of the way. Tashona is a passionate humanitarian and that made my experience with her so much greater. She introduced me to another mother, Janelica, during my journey that was on her educational journey to becoming a doula and the match in energy couldn't have been more perfect! With me recently moving to the area amidst my pregnancy, connecting with like minds and supportive mothers was a goal of mine. Tashona didn't fail by any means at making this dream come true for me. We hired Home Instead to care for my mom while we were on vacation. My mom had recently moved in…read morewith us after she was no longer able to live by herself due to frequent falls, vision and hearing impairment, frequent MD appts....etc. My experience with HI was pleasant and professional from the beginning on. I first requested info on line and I was contacted by phone within 24 hours. I then spoke with Tabitha at their office and explained what I was looking for. We needed someone to supervise mom, transport her to her dialysis appointments, fix meals and just provide companionship while we went out of town on vacation for 5 days. We met with Connie who came to my home and listened to my needs, met my mom and thoroughly explained their services and fees. I was happy with the prices because I thought that they were reasonable given that I needed to have peace of mind and know that my mom was going to be safe. I actually appreciated the fact that she didn't try to upsell me. Their rates are based upon the specific needs that the person has - the more needs or more hands on attention - the higher in hourly rate. My mom qualified for the lowest rate as she didn't need assistance with bathing, dressing...etc. Then, about 2 weeks later, we were introduced to my mom's caregiver, Julie. Of course, I was anxious and tried to get a good vibe from Julie since I would be allowing this person access to my mom and my home. I sensed that she was going to be fine. She clicked with my mom, hugged her and just seemed to be a good person. We went on our trip and I checked in with mom daily. After day 1, mom said "I love her (Julie)!" She said that Julie was very attentive and patient with her. Each day (we were gone for 5 days) mom reported that everything was going really well and that Julie was taking great care of her. Julie texted me daily to let me know that all was well. She drove my mom to dialysis and made her a meal upon returning home. Just knowing that someone was taking good care of my mom allowed me to truly enjoy my vacation and to relax. She even took my mom out for a walk inside the local mall for exercise, took her to lunch, took her a hair and nail salon appointment. On the last day, mom said, "Julie is good for me. Can I please have her every week?" I am going to do my best to fit this into my budget because it is truly a great help to me and good for my mom. This company is very professional, consistent and responsive in communicating with me (extremely important to me) and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.
