I had an opportunity to cruise on Queens Landing with some friends who celebrated a 10 year wedding anniversary. Our party of 6 was escorted to the upper level to be seated for dinner. Onboard there was a musician who sang a number of classics during the journey, he happened to be setup near our table so we had an upfront view. The food was good overall. When we were seated, we found salads on the table for each seat. It was comprised of iceberg lettuce that was slightly brown and topped with dressing - Italian I think. The salad was unappealing but the rest of the meal was slightly better. I had chicken with mashed potatoes, broccoli and a roll as an entree. Some in our party ordered the salmon, which they raved about. We skipped dessert since our group brought a cake to celebrate the anniversary. The staff was nice enough to cut it for us and serve it also with a glass of champagne. Although a dinner cruise is a great experience, the boat itself is very old and in need of major updates. This was pretty disappointing as I expected a modern experience. I think it needs a major overhaul, which of course would likely result in a price increase. It would be worth it. C read more

This was a fun 2 hour cruise. It was a last minute decision to go and I was able to get 2 tickets. The weather was perfect and the captain was great at providing details and the stories behind some of the most beautiful homes along the lake. I wish the tour was longer. It was very relaxing and the staff was attentive and courteous. The captain even let me take a quick photo behind the wheel before we docked. I'll definitely go out again. The ship could use a little attention (TLC) but we made it out there and back. read more

Let me start by saying, we enjoyed our ride on the Lady of Lake and Captain Ron Gority is just a pleasure to have as Captain and from true sailor to another, he was appreciated. Okay now with that being said the place is just so badly run down, It needs a make over, they have cut cost on furniture, it appears when you walk in, in my opinion like it is a fly by night organization that just moved in yesterday said lets get some cheap furniture from goodwill and get this business going. The same feel translates to the boat itself, box lunches, cheap tables and chairs, there is nothing premier about this place, but for a nice tour of the lake, it was perfect. So keep your expectations to a very low mark come out here with some kids or like we did a work group just to get a relaxing cruise and enjoy the view. One thing they do need to prioritize in my opinion is setting aside 1 day a week and pay the staff to come out and clean the boats from top to bottom, it will cut down on lengthy maintenance in the long run and make a party of it, buy pizza and let them take ownership in the main reason for this place even existing. I spent 8 years in the Navy and know how important on small boats PM (Preventive Maintenance). Strive to be a just a little better, I want to give you 5 stars but myself and anyone else that comes out , you need to help us. read more

This was my first time at Queen's Landing and it won't be my last. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. When my wife and I arrived, we were immediately shown our seats. I was very happy that it was a small table for two by the window. Our waitress Allison came and took our drink orders and explained their pricing protocol. After we received our drinks and set sail, Allison checked on us periodically prior to dinner being served. My wife had the Porterhouse steak, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables, while I had the chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese. Although my meal wasn't as "robust" as my wife's, i enjoyed it especially the macaroni. Throughout the entire trip our waitress Allison as well as the other staff made sure that it needs were taken care of. This trip was money well spent and a night to remember. I wanted so to like this one place and the large number of cars made this seem promising. The concept seemed good. A boat featuring dinner cruises and tours. Ice cream shoppe and barbecue. Float and kayak rentals. Fireworks on the Fourth of July. What goes wrong? The boat tour was boring and the dinner was mediocre. Drinks were pricey and not very good. Service was spotty. The rest of the Landing was dirty and debris wasn't picked up. The facility was kind of smelly. I hope management addresses the deficiencies as it would be a great opportunity for residents to bring their guests. read more

I have heard about the dinner cruise on lady of the lake but I didn't know they offered sightseeing cruises as well and we always look for these things when we go out of town but we have a gem right here at home. The boat was older you can tell but the staff was amazing Kassie our bartender was so wonderful and she made our son feel so special for his birthday. The Captain Lou Johnson let our son drive the boat. Our son said it was the most amazing trip he had. The views are out of this world looking at all the beautiful houses, the lake, everyone using jet skis and other water vehicles. I would definitely do this again. Great deal for the price! Seems like they may have overbooked since there were not many open seats and everyone is required to be seated when disembarking. The captain was very knowledgeable of the lake and very entertaining! The crew was very polite. We stopped by the grille on the inside and picked up ice cream to enjoy during our cruise which made nice for the kids! There is a bar onboard which I will be sure to try next go round! read more

This dinner cruise was for our wedding anniversary. The quality of the cruise has changed. The wait staff we had were terrible and seem to spend times interacting with each other more than guests. Our cocktail glasses were empty and we wanted more drinks but they failed to come to our table for a while. My husband refused to get up and go to the bar. The same drinks arrived differently-one garnished and the other not. The garnish existed because other guests had their drinks garnished. The meal was average. The meal service was discombobulated and slow. Our table was towards the front but they seem to have forgotten the front tables for most things. There was no order to how the tables were approached. Having gone on this trip before-the apparent decline in service is quite apparent. Think I'll read Yelper reviews to see if things improve rather than drive so far for this type of experience. There was a singer who claim he sang for a celebrity's wedding but gotta question that story. He was a bit loud. I'm sure it will be a while before trying this again. read more

We were expecting a lot more for what we paid for a dinner cruise! Not to mention I was greeted with "oh my gosh your screen! You know they have places that fix that!" (regarding my cracked phone screen when I showed my tickets) instead of a "hello!" or "welcome!" The waiting area was disheveled, dated and in disrepair. We ordered a bottle of wine while we waited and were given plastic cups because they were out of clean glasses, even though they were not very busy. The boats interior and decorations also seem dated, but it wasn't too bad. What WAS bad was that we had to pay for sweet tea and a coke - apparently a $2 drink is not included in your $80 ticket. The worst part was probably when we ordered a double shot of Maker's and there was a bug it in. Took it back, they apologized and brought us a new one. This one ALSO had a bug in it - so either they gave us the same drink again or your boat has dirty liquor - either one is unacceptable. They finally poured a third drink out of a new bottle while I stood there and watched. No offer of a free drink, discount, etc. The food was barely warm and seemed microwaved. The salad seemed wilted and most of my Prime Rib was fat. Again, not what I was expecting for the ticket price that we paid. The staff was good, and I'm sure the size of our party (11) was more difficult to manage than a normal table, but they did well and we appreciated their service. read more

The main draw of Queens Landing for me, aside from Joker's Dueling Piano Bar and it being a good place to launch a boat from, is the putt-putt course. There just aren't many places to play putt-putt around here! Queen's Landing offers not only putt-putt, but also bumper boats, a tennis court that is rarely used, indoor bathrooms, and a stage area for outdoor concerts. It is also the dock area for the Catawba Queen, a riverboat yacht that is available for chartering. Overall, Queen's Landing positions itself as a resort, but in actuality it has devolved somewhat to a glorified amusement park that is in slight need of some TLC. It remains a great place to take the kids though, and Joker's is a fun place to go and remains a big draw as well. Oh, and don't forget the floating bar at the dock. It's a unique place to have a drink and look out over the water. read more

We purchased tickets in October 2020 but family wasn't able to make it due to COVID. They were nice to let us reschedule for today 6/25. We did the sightseeing cruise. I was disappointed to bring out of town family here. The business is very run down. Mini golf course outgrown and not open. Restaurant closed. Inside of the place very old and outdated. Was excited to get onto the boat, but once we got on, the tables were chopped and old. The chairs very old and tattered. The windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned so bird poop all over them and it was harder to see out of. Hard to take photos and see sights. Staff was very nice and helpful. They had drinks and snacks for sale. The speaker system was the worst of all. We were on bottom of boat and you heard nothing. It sounded like the teacher on Charlie Brown. Disappointed as we wanted to hear about places the captain pointed out. I would love yo give them a good review as I hate to say bad things, but it was just disappointing with guests visiting. read more

This is a good, centrally located point to start from to explore Lake Norman. The bathrooms inside are clean and well-kept, and staff has always been friendly and helpful. At one time there was a mini golf course here, but I don't think it is currently kept up. You can also ride a sightseeing cruise from here around the lake. My family has been a customer of Queens Landing for at least 8 to 10 years. We have taken daytime cruises, dinner cruises, gone sightseeing, and I have celebrated many family events there on the lake. I was looking forward to celebrating another Fourth of July at Queens Landing because they've always had family fun activities. I arrived at the property this afternoon only to be greeted with Trump banners, Trump flags, a register to vote table for Trump, and Trump/MAGA hats. I immediately turned around and had to find other activities for my four children and spouse. I even had my 75 year old mother with me who was visibly shaken by what she beheld. Everyone is entitled to their political opinion, however it was blatantly obvious that this Independence Day event was used as a pop- up Trump rally. It was not advertised as a Trump supporters sponsored event and I would have not chosen to attend this event had I known prior. I also noticed how very visibly uncomfortable the people of color looked who were there. Not to mention social distancing practices were not observed and the overwhelming majority of people were not wearing masks. Walking into this event where the business blatantly aligns themselves with Trump means that I will no longer patronize Queens Landing or any activity that they offer. I will also alert all of my family and friends in Charlotte, Concord, Kannapolis, and other surrounding areas of my experience. Previously, upon my suggestion, my brother and his wife booked a dinner cruise for later this month. I have already called them to advise them to cancel. In the meantime, I called Queens Landing and discovered that Debbie Harwell is the owner. I hope that she will realize the implication of her actions and how many customers this will cost her. I am boycotting Queens Landing and I am calling all of you to do the same. read more

With the in-laws in town, we decided to give them a grand tour of Lake Norman. It was a first for us as well, since we haven't yet explored the lake since moving to the area last year. There are several options when taking the lake tour, be it a pure tour of the lake or a lunch/dinner ride. We opted for the non-meal cruise. The boat is a decent size, two-story boat with seating both indoors on the bottom and the covered roof. The miss' has gotten "seasick" in the past when on boats either on salt or fresh water, but she was fine with this trip. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and traveled around the lake. "Captain Boots" made sure to point out all the snazzy lake-side digs and who lived there. It sure made me pretty dang jealous! The captains allow kids to come inside and man the boat for awhile, so I took my nephew over to the front of the boat so he could get a chance. Captain Boots was very friendly towards us, and I was extremely shocked (and grateful) that he confirmed the story of "Normie" that I have been filling my nephew's head with. Captain Boots gave us both a cool hat to wear while we were in the there with him, and my nephew also got a "license" confirming that he got to pilot the boat. If you happen to get hungry or thirsty during the trip there is a snack bar with chips, candy bars and sodas. I would have preferred some slightly better snacks available...at least some soft pretzels or something! Overall it's a great way to check out the lake if you're not familiar with the area and don't feel like shelling out the cash to rent a boat for yourself. We'll definitely be taking the tour again when my parents get around to coming to visit. If you do take the tour, keep an eye out for ol' Normie! read more

I want to start by saying that my sweet husband surprised me with a trip on the Catawba Queen for a dinner cruise. He was so excited.... until we saw the boat in person. First off the staff are not the friendliest. The boat looks like it hasn't been cleaned or updated since 1970. The floors and railings were rusted and the wood looked rotted. There were spiders EVERYWHERE and huge too. When another guest complained about the spiders a crew member said "those are our pets." EW. Our food was mediocre, definitely not worth the hefty price tag. We were served drinks once and then never checked on again during the two hour cruise. Also, several lights were out on the boat and by dessert we could not see anything due to being on the back of the boat. Would I do it again? Nope. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

This place has a ton of wonderful potential. However it is obvious that regular disregard for any sort of maintenance or investment has left the entire dockside facility and ship (we were only on the Lady of the Lake) in disheveled disrepair and filthy decay. Landscaping is in bad need of maintenance. Patio and waiting areas look more like the DMV than a luxury experience. Waitstaff/crew look are clearly overworked, underpaid, insufficiently trained, do not take pride in their hospitality, and in short, just hate their jobs. The air conditioning on the ship barely worked, or at least the thermostat was set way too high for a hot summer day. The music selection needs to be curated with a more modern taste in mind. It was all the 70's hits, all evening long. No thank you. Think Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr, Buble, Diana Krall, etc. ...anything that is more upscale and fitting for a dinner party. Basic principles of food service and hospitality must be revisited and enforced. Open trash cans should NEVER sit out in the open right next to my dining table. Tables should be cleared to the galley, out of sight, not stacked on the bar and loudly scraped into said trash can. Drink orders should be taken upon seating, or at least drink menus distributed. The bar upstairs was never manned, and our water glasses frequently were empty. I will admit at that the meal itself was served at a very appropriate pace for the 2.5 hr cruise. We were able to relax with our food and wine and enjoy the view. The food itself was not anything spectacular. Pretty basic fare. My 'medium' steak was very well done. The salmon was just so so. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were cold and reheated. Overall, we did enjoy ourselves on the dinner cruise. But the entire facility needs lots of love to truly uphold the standard of a luxurious destination experience that they advertise. And quite honestly, it could easily be an exquisite lakeside resort-style escape, but the appropriate care, maintenance, and pride need to be invested to get it there. We booked for the Fourth of July and was going to do the Riverboat dinner. We ended up being upgraded to the Yacht. We loved where we sat. They spaced out the tables perfectly and great timing as to when we received each course. With how hot it was the upgrade was a blessing. Queens landing isn't just for romantic dinner cruises! I took the scenic boat ride today and it was so relaxing! The day was picturesque (uncontrolled), the staff were extremely hospitable, the outdoor area right outside of the will call area was very relaxing. Ample seating, what looked like fire pit tabletops for cool nights, a doc area, and clean. On the scenic tour they offer cold and hot beverages. I am currently enjoying my specialty drink which is delicious. I heard rave reviews from a couple of other guests about their dirty martini and other cocktail. The only thing that I regret is that the boat is enclosed in either class or plastic, neither of which give you the incredible view that the cruise offers. I wish they could draw back the enclosure for perfect days no matter the season! Overall I totally enjoyed. read more

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Brian and his team! We hosted our company Christmas party here last night and it was truly wonderful. The meal (the Chicken Cordon Bleu was DELICIOUS and don't even get me started on the cheesecake!), the decorations, the attentiveness of the staff - all of these ensured an absolutely perfect evening. I threw a lot of last minute changes at Brian on top of the many requests for the party itself and he was not only accommodating but just so easy and fun to work with. The night went off without a hitch and everyone is still talking about it today. We were on the Lady of the Lake and while some people have mentioned it being a bit older, personally I believe that added to the charm. The bar was beautiful and the interior is tastefully done. If you're thinking about this as an event location or for a date night out, I highly recommend! read more

I took an evening cruise on the Catawba aboard the Lady of the Lake. I must say, the hors d'oeuvres were pretty good and the one-hour open bar didn't hurt either! I don't know where the food was prepared but it was hot and very tasty. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service provided on the boat. They really know how to help you have a great time and the staff join in to help you. The DJ on hand that night kept things moving on the dance floor (except when there were too many special requests) and a great time was had by all. read more

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time last night on the two and a half hour dinner cruise on Queen's Landing's Lady of the Lake boat. I had no idea what it would be like and I was very happy with everything except for a couple small things. First, the servers did not seem like they were prepared to serve a packed house. They were very slow if they came at all and one in particular was extremely sweaty and felt the need to touch our straws as he poured our drinks (yes, we asked for new ones), the second and last thing I can critique is the fact that the food was not hot. However, at the end of a great night both of these things were forgotten. Though still a bit small, the boat was bigger than I expected and had two decent sized levels. The bathrooms were clean, and they had a nice outdoor area to sit and enjoy the water while watching the sunset and later on in the evening the beautiful moonlit sky. They had a full bar which was very decent priced and majority of the tables were next to the window so you can enjoy the sights. The food, though close to room temperature, was very tasty and better than I expected. I had the salmon and it melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had the steak and it was also delicious. I bought a deal from google offers for this cruise and it was an awesome night for a great price. The regular price they charge.....eh, don't know if it's exactly worth it, however I find it hard to believe that you won't have a wonderful night, especially if you are with a special person! read more

Catawba Queen first of all this is a buffet. For $65 pp they should at least bring you a salad while you wait for your turn to eat. The food tasted fine but it wasn't hot at all. None of it. So I found this place through my GF friends. A recent weekend night found me here taking in all the Landing has to offer. Live music, food, entertainment and access to the lake all make it a pretty incredible destination considering how it is located pretty much not near anything town/city wise. Staff are what I call country friendly.......I should know, I was raised in the country. If you are a high maintenance person, this isn't the place for you. But if you like a place that provides a little of something for everyone and is family friendly, then Queen's Landing is the place for you to check out. read more

Went on 4th of July cruise. Had a really good time seeing all the houses along the lake and some beautiful fireworks. Captain said it was the most he had seen in his 15 years doing this cruise. Food was good, snack kind of food with meatballs, wings and such. Ship was sold out so a little crowded but frankly what you would expect for a holiday weekend. At my company we do quarterly team off sites and I am in charge of planning them. I wanted to do something different so I thought a boat cruise would be nice. We decided to do a private charter on the Catawba Queen as the price was a little cheaper for the 2 hours than on the Lady of the Lake. But to be honest I am so much happier with the CQ! There was so much outdoor space and we had a beautiful day so it was just perfect for everyone. I think the only time people were inside was to get drinks, food and to use the bathroom. The crew was great, Captain Allen let multiple people don a cap and steer the boat, and the rest of the staff made sure everyone was having a great time. We did a heavy hors d'oeuvres package and 2 hours of open bar with beer and wine. Everyone loved the food, I was skeptical but it was actually really good. They had wings, meatballs, shrimp, veggie, cheese and fruit trays, sandwich items and potato salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was more than enough food and people definitely had 2nds and 3rds. But the best bargain is the open bar, I mean the majority of us like to drink and our bar bill would have been sky high had it not been for the amazing open bar deal. I really just can't say enough about how great this boat cruise was. We all wished we had another hour on the lake because we were having so much fun! I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone and I would definitely do it again. read more

Our office visited Queens Landing today for our biyearly Fun Day adventure. I'm so happy to say we had a really great time! The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to take over a section of the restaurant for our pre-lunch team builder games; great views of Lake Norman made the ice breakers even more fun. Lunch was good (chicken salad croissant with fries). There were a few errors with other people's orders, but I suppose that's to be expected with a larger group (20+ people), and the staff was friendly and quick to make amends. After lunch, Fun Day continued with a 1.5 hour tour of Lake Norman on the "Catawba Queen." I don't recommend taking this tour in December. Our team sat in the upper deck, which was enclosed with removable plastic partitions so the space was heated, but our view of the Lake Norman mansions (i.e. the whole point of the tour) was obscured. The radio system is also in dire need of an update; the tour itself was, for the most part, indistinguishable. Some even compared it to Charlie Brown's teacher, if that helps paint the picture. Despite the slightly disappointing tour, I still enjoyed our overall experience and recommend for an office outing or just a trip on the weekend. I'm pumped to come back this summer and check out the putt-putt golf course, too. read more

This is my second time on Queen Landing. I love this dj for the 4 th of 2018. He played vary of music that was awesome. There was 2 young women that lite the party.. They was dancing machines that had so much energy and life.. At one point the dance floor was packed and we had a ball. A 60 yr old lady dance the entire time and she had a blast. The staff was awesome and the food was good too. We danced, smile and laugh and that's exactly what the soul needs read more
