If you're in Leavenworth, Kansas you MUST stop in for a visit! Immediately upon entering I was greeted with a friendly hello and an offer of their current tea samples. They had two hot and one iced. Before I even entered too far into the quaint shop, Kim mentioned tea samples--not just to drink but a small bag of loose leaf. She was the sweetest--in my conversation with her while I entered the store, I said I had just checked in on Yelp. Yelp said something about an ounce (seems like too much to just give away...), the samples were less than that, but I didn't mind, I thought it was cool they even did that--she ended up letting me choose two--so hard to decide when the two I chose sounded delicious! They have a fantastic array of teas: black, herbal, tisanes, green to name a few of their loose leaf teas. They also have an assortment of boxed/tin of teas too and from various companies. I tried the iced one they were sampling (Strawberry & Vanilla) from London Fruit & Herb Company. It was so refreshing I bought a box! I told Kim I was hosting a small afternoon tea for my Mum's birthday and she had some wonderful ideas! Not only for the teas from which to choose, but also some noshes to pair with them. While loading my arms with all the goodness, Kailee popped over and offered a basket for my finds! Thank you!! Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. Case in point, after having tried the iced tea, i asked out to make it with correct proportions of tea:water:ice, to which Kim supplied not only a verbal answer, but also gave me a card with brewing directions! Hooray! I love dropping by, at the very least to see if they have anything new, but also because they're a local company that has loose leaf teas--seems hard to procure sometimes. Queen's Pantry offers a variety of British fare and beautiful cups/mugs and accoutrements to help either a newbie to loose leaf teas or a long-time connoisseur. Queen's Pantry is a little gem in downtown Leavenworth. They offer a huge selection of tea, mugs, candy, scone mix, and other items, as well as samples of their tea of the day. I'm new to loose-leaf tea, so I chose several one-ounce packages to try, though they offer much larger packages if you know what you like. I have loved all the tea I've tried so far and am looking forward to stopping back in to try new flavors. read more

I received a beautiful mug made in England for my birthday and it got broken. I loved it so much that I wanted to replace it. I searched all over the internet and this store was the only place that had it in the color I wanted. I ordered and they shipped it the same day, I received shipping notification. It came securely and beautifully packaged with red tissue paper, handwritten warm note and some small gifts inside (a magnet and tea sample). It actually made my day. Not very often nowadays one gets such a personal touch from a seller. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. read more

One of the things that the internet and big box stores have taken away from us is the experience of shopping and the personal touch that comes with a small business. The store owners curate their own selections of products they have an attachment too, and it shows in the way they have a knowledge about everything on their shelves. I've often been disappointed by grabbing English tea from a big box store or online only to find out it wasn't quite what I wanted. At Queen's Tea, I didn't have to worry about that for a second. The smells and the ability to look over and just browse for what immediately sat with me was worth it in comparison to buying something I would later decide I didn't like. Is it better to pay a small amount more locally to get something you will use 100% of, or to save money, buy something online and then discover it isn't what you wanted and you're going to end up throwing it out? This is easy math for anyone who wants to get the most for their budget. The groceries, knick knacks and other items make the entire visit a blast. If you love tea or just want the experience, GO! This is the best place in the greater Kansas City area to buy tea and tea accessories. They offer you a sample tea when you walk in. They will give you the recipe if it is not a straight tea. They gave me a magnet that had instructions on how to brew your best cup of tea ever. If you are of English, Scottish, or Irish decent you will find fun items suitable to displaying your heritage. They sell a wide variety of loose teas. There is a small selection of UK specific groceries that you might miss while in the states. I wanted so badly to enjoy Queen's Pantry Teas because I am a huge fan of teas and supporting locally owned businesses. Sadly, I was simply not impressed by their selection of teas nor their prices. I can go to so many other tea places for a larger variety of teas to choose from at comparable or even lower prices than I was able to find at Queen's Pantry. I get that they are a small shop in a relatively small town, but come on. That being said, the shop itself is really cute and fits into the atmosphere of Downtown Leavenworth. Great broad assortment of original teas spanning from black to green. The staff was very helpful and gave great recommendations on which teas to choose. Prices are reasonable(2-3$/ounce) and the shops atmosphere really tries to play on the British tea time concept. Other items in the store are more pricey so I would stick to the loose leaf teas and some of their baking goods. read more

Small, super cute shop dedicated to tea, British tea sets, treats, and refrigerated food in downtown Leavenworth. It was a lot of fun to find so many items with the Union Jack and other British themes and to find cookies and candy that I used to snack on when I studied abroad in Durham, England. The employees are super nice, leave out lots of samples, and know a lot about British items and tea. We bought a bunch of candy, cookies, bags of tea, and clotted cream which inspired me to make scones the following morning. Can't wait to swing by again and stock up on more British goods! read more

Great tea selection! The loose and bagged teas always keep me coming back. I love that the owner's mom (an authentic Brit) is typically there and always willing to help. They have teas to sample at the back - tried the Guy Fawkes recently and it tasted just like chocolate cake, but calorie free! They have a wide range of tea pots and accessories as well as imported British food, tea towels and a bit of hodge-podge like locally made scarves and the like. This place is awesome if you like tea. They have sample packets you can purchase of basically every tea they have, it has encouraged me to try some flavors that I would normally shy away from and have now come to love. They usually do have an array of free samples for customers to try in store as well. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. I stopped in this cute store a few days after Christmas. What a lovely store with friendly staff, and a great selection of teas at wonderful prices. All of the ladies working where super friendly and accommodating. I found a fun selection of British snacks, tea pots, and a few toiletries. I only wish I had the time to eat in the cafe in the back. I fell in love with the teas I bought, and will order online from them in the future. Lived in Atchison for a brief time, and we drove to Leavenworth for this shop. A giant wall of loose teas awaits! They would also do one or two teas each day and you could go in for a cup to go. Friendly people who also had British foods on hand, and some nice Irish dish wares. I still have a lovely cat shaped teapot warmer that keeps a pot of tea hot for hours.
