They have good current books, not so great selection of novels and such. Their magazines are random and popular. They have internet stuff, and Wifi, so people seem to do homework and such here. They even have a manga section and some DVDs. And, thank you automated world, you can check out your own books now! But alas, I like to read about 10 books at a time, and time limits cramp my style. I go here to try and defray book costs and just to pick out a book that isn't something I would normally read. I tried to book one of their rooms to teach meditation and they said they wouldn't let me because it's a religious thing. I guess that's true because I'm a Buddhist, and I did want to talk about the Dharma in the second half. So I guess that's fair. I remember when I first got a library card there, I thought they were kind of reactionary to insist on me proving my address. All these crazy out of borough people who get cards and then don't really live there. I tried to get a library card in nowhere New Jersey once, and they wanted proof of address. Public libraries aren't what they used to be. Still, I think Queens has a lovely library system, and this branch isn't half bad.

A decent library in Forest Hills. Clean, organized and staff are efficient. Tranquility exists here. A small library but gets the job done.

Poor selection of books and rude employees who are more concerned with enforcing mask policies than they are actually helping you

The fiction stacks read the same in terms of bookcase size and location as they were since inception, there are obviously new books and older books with new editions. I remember the day this library opened its doors. Prior to the construction it was an empty dirt lot where kids used to ride their BMX dirt bikes. People brought cakes and pies to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony, geekish memory but I love books. The Images of America-Forest Hills book is copyrighted in 2013, that's a current book by my standards. Many other popular titles hold the center of the floor, highlighting the top authors books. The PC area continues to be the busiest area outside the childrens section after 3:00pm, so if you need to jump on a machine quickly, head over to FedEx or Staples. Copies and newspapers remain at the front by the windows, my preferred area to narrow down my choices to two books, not seven. Great service at the counter provides minimal line hold ups. The wacky hours are a byproduct of citywide cuts, not the libraries decision. I scored Ann Rands FOUNTAINHEAD today which was held together by lots of thick tape which is fine. I just hope all the pages are where they are supposed to be.

On this special visit, I want to highlight the exceptional service I received from one of the librarians. He took his time to help me search for the book I was interested in, and he also escorted me to the bookshelves to find it. He answered all my inquiries and explained that a fashion show was about to start. I would have been in a rush to leave during this visit, but because the librarian was so helpful, I decided to stay for the evening event. I was able to use the self-checkout kiosk, and it was very easy to follow the instructions on the touchscreen. I observed a spectacular fashion show and had the opportunity to meet some amazing people. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in great activities, lessons, programs and events check out the Queens Central Library calendar.

I needed to take a city exam and found the help I needed with that. Which was golden but. But get this- getting lost in the fiction section I found that they offer some literature as e books like what. I LOVE that. Like I said the people and the resources are great. I got a new library card when I went on this day bc mine was expired. 5/5 I highly recommend this cool warm and clean information source. I feel at home when I go here.

First they started telling me to remove my window tints because the security guards have issue seeing my plate because they refuse to walk 10 feet to look at it. I purchased a decal today to start my final semester of college and I was told to park off campus grounds to which I came back to 2 tickets. After putting the decal on, I'm now told I'm unable to park inside the campus ground before 2pm. My entire experience with Queens College could have been much better, but they are a business and nothing more. If you want to park on campus, you should be prepared to spend some extra money because they'll somehow find a reason to write you up a ticket. Also, this campus has buildings so old and out dated, it really makes you wish you chose another school. I've taken 5 summer classes and have seen nothing but roaches everywhere. Nothing but a sub par college experience overall.
