This library helped me not go crazy as a kid because I was the child of immigrants who struggled financially as well as not knowing navigating the USA. My 3rd grade friend informed me of free libarary because she was an avid reader. I still remember we had a book worm in class and she surpassed everyone with her love of reading. I was in second. I finally walked in today to check out since the library's renovation - haven't been back since high school when my parents moved us out of Elmhurst and it was BEAUTIFUL! I was amazed how modern, bright, airy and just so peaceful with lots of seats as well as plenty of people doing work/reading. Definitely will be back.

I was here earlier doing research on a project. Was reviewing some Children's books up on the third…read morefloor. Took the books into the Children's Meeting area where there were many empty tables and chairs, so I sat down to go through the materials. A class had just finished. Parents had started to leave with their kids. A staff member asked the librarian, who is that person in the blue shirt. She came over and asked me where my kid was. I said I do not have a child with me. She said I can not sit here. I asked her where do I go? She said you have to go to the adult section. I was going to leave the books on the table. Staff goes it's a library take the books with and after you finish leave it on the table. Went down to the second floor it said Teen section- Confused was I not suppose to be there too. Had no teenager with me. There were tables at the media area. Sat there reviewed all the materials. Took books back to third floor and placed books outside of the Children's area. Where is the adult area? First floor? I see computers and people of all ages there. I did not see a sign. This is a very small library. People sitting on benches by elevator. Only three floors on this site. Had been here one time just to get catalog of activities at this library for family member. Tried to take pictures to post with review. Staff said you are not allowed to take pictures. Some of the staff is very abrupt and not the friendliest. Will I be back? Probably not. I am use to going to the libraries in Manhattan for they are bigger and staff are much more welcoming.

I was told by an occupant whose seat I was accidentally sitting in. An employee walked by overhearing the conversation and assisted in getting me checked in! This is more of an unfortunate complaint I have with the QPL app in general, but I had to reset my pin EIGHT times and the computer STILL wouldn't log me in! I used it fine at other branches, I'm not sure why it wasn't working here. Yet again another employee set me up and manually put me in. I got what I needed to get done, the interactions from the staff and crowds were wonderful. It's just the technology that needs some work!

This is smaller than some other nearby libraries but had enough of a selection of children's books for our purpose. The now "standard" technology of NYC public libraries where checking out and returning books (five at a time) is a breeze. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Harry (I think that was his name) guided me through the process of becoming a member, getting a card, getting it on an App on my cellphone so I didn't need to carry it around, etc. Nice to see that personal attention in busy NYC, that too by city employees! Like in many NYC facilities parking is hard to find here (including metered paid) and there's no library parking.

Multi floors , plenty of books , computer area that was filled with folks with plenty of time to waste . Nice upgrade compared to the old interior which was old and full and the many shelves are filled with books with categories labeled clearly . My god daughter has fun doing her research and I took my cat nap with one eye opened keeping guard on my cuzs kid . Nice neighborhood library in Astoria that reminds me of the one in the Bronx that was my go to place when I was young and dumb . 4.5 stars on my yelp meter and maybe next time the librarian lady will crack a smile hopefully.

Back to the regular channel...DVDs....so Rich W. showed me there are DVDs to borrow at the library. WOW. He said...see libraries are friendly places. It felt like therapy when he showed me the library! He told me the other day there are books beyond the DVD rack! I was like...really??!! I seriously just come here for the DVDs and for computer use. I am not familiar with the rest of the library. Other than the bathroom here needs serious cleaning...just sayin'.

Big place with plenty of spaced seating to read , study , sleep ,etc. Very good selection of books , magazines and other learning materials as well . While my goddaughter was able to do her research on her own , I roamed around and felt a bite nostalgia like as I looked around . Glad the public library is still around and a great resource to have regardless of ones age . The selection of books is plenty and sections are organized from topics from A to Z . Books , cds , dvds can be taken out but you got to get and have a library card which is free and easy to get in minutes.
