Suckling pig for lunch.
Rebecca T.

Visited Lisbon in February. Was in the Belém district for the afternoon, and decided to get a brief lunch before exploring. Popped into this small restaurant and ordered the leitao ("suckling pig"). The meat was super soft and greasy, but that's just how I liked it! Admittedly, though, it was a tad too salty, but still tasty. Fries were a nice touch, too. Overall, a tiny establishment, but otherwise a good one to drop by for a quick bite to eat in Belém.

We had wanted to eat at a restaurant nearby that had stellar Yelp reviews but this was before we knew that in Lisbon, you MUST call ahead and make a RESERVATION! So we ended up here because we were hungry. I had the octopus and it was delicious! It was cooked absolutely perfectly. That was 5 stars for sure. My husband's fish was fine, flavor was good but very bony. Also a side salad was boring although fresh so I appreciated that.

Menu looks ok but food has not the same level
Philippe M.

Very disappointed! Très déçu ! Service is bad. The Quality of food is basic and may be related to prices in the menu. The three guys for the service did not care to provide a reasonable level of service like offering a smile, bread, oil as for other tourists.... They even came with the next part even if starters were not finished and did not ask for our preferences... Anyway there is much more better somewhere else!

Amazing find in Belem. Hard to find but totally worth it. The service and food were amazing at a…read morevery reasonable price. We came for lunch on a Sunday and had an unforgettable experience with local cuisine. This restaurant is off the beaten tourist track but if you want to see how the locals eat a relaxing meal, this is a fantastic choice. Closed on Mondays per the owner.

The manager of the restaurant received me and was extra nice, he spoke to me in English and Spanish, so if you speak any of those 2 you are good. He recommended me some items on the menu here is what I chose: starter-favadas d' unha... (really big beans) one word to describe them DELICOUS... so that was a great start. For the main entree I got the Atum grelhado, which is a tuna filet (big portion) grilled and they put a home made butter on top that is out of this world.. this has been one of the best filets I have ever had. As soon as you arrive you get a platter with cheese, olives and the unbelievable home made butter, also a piece of freshly baked hot bread. He offered me some wines and ask me what region I wanted, I chose Duero.. wine was great too... The manager/server explained to me that it was a Restaurant from Açores which are a group of islands in the middle of the Atlantic that are part of Portugal, he even brought a book to show me Açores (he is from there). I also found out that his wife is the one in the kitchen! I told him tell her everything is delicious and he replied "I taught her good"... Overall a great experience and amazing food... do not hesitate coming here

Salt baked fish is truly not that hard to to mess up, yet my fish turned out to be very dry. At first they said the fish was under cooked when they first cracked it open, then whoever must have put it back in the over over cooked it. The filets were all messy, and shredded probably due to how dry it was.. and tough to eat, also had many bones still in it. This couple next to us also got the salt baked Fish and theirs looked better filleted. We also got the clams for our app. It was meh. Not much flavor, and very small portion for the cost! Service here was horrendous. I literally had my hand up for 10 minutes before someone came over to take the check from me. The couple next to us were even trying to help us get a waiter! I mean cmon... You want my money right? They also asked for a tip at the end of the meal... Really? Albeit, the decor of the place was nice, but the food was pretty mediocre, and the cost was way up there for bad food. Wouldn't come again.
