We found this little gem thanks to Trip Adviser. When we first walked in it was just the two people that appeared to work there, the owners maybe? I'm not sure. The location is tucked back into the side streets and it's very romantic, almost a little secret. After dining a few days in Italy we decided that it was best to finally suck it up and order the antipasti, primi, secondi, and all that jazz. We basically ordered one of each, and told the waiter we would share. First came the grilled vegetables... really delicious and well seasoned. It was a mixture of zucchini, artichoke, mushroom, and mozarella cheese. They were cold, which was unexpected, but really REALLY good. Next was the tortellini with cheese and meat. They were very nice and put the one portion in two bowls. That tortellini was similar to little pillows of cheese goodness. It was really delicious, soft, and cooked perfectly! And next came the fish. It was also halved and presented so nicely with delicious scalloped potatoes. The fish was light but also had very nice flavor. And on to dessert... I forgot the name, derrrp,, but it's very popular for Rome. It's basically an ice cream ball with amaretto flavor in the center, then chocolate, and the outside is dusted with cocoa powder. Also delicious. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine at an awesome price. Initially it was slightly uncomfortable because it was so quite, but things were fine after a few minutes. By golly I think we had a perfect evening!! Tre Archi ist wirchlich schoen. Wir hatten einen perfekten Abend. Mein Freund und ich haben Fisch, Gemuese grillen, tortellini Nudeln, Wein, und Eis probiert. Alles waren sehr lecker. Die Leute waren immer puenklich und nett.

Probably one of the worse restaurant we went to in our whole Italy trip. We arrived slightly early and found the door opened and so entered only to be rejected by one of the staff members, using only hand gestures to tell us to get out. We waited outside until 19:30 when it should have opened but since no one greeted us we continued to wait. Luckily if it wasn't for another guest to have stepped in like we did, we wouldn't have known that we could have entered. They just left us and another guest to wait outside. We were asked to sit anywhere and immediately given to us was a complimentary bread basket that contained cheese crackers and breadsticks too. The place is very small and requires a reservation. People who walked in were immediately rejected at the door. It was a nice cosy interior, almost like a feel of a home with its framed paintings, coat hangers and warm lighting. Tortellini in Brodo For starters I fancied a soup to warm me up and quench my thirst. However it was a big mistake. The broth was incredibly salty masking any other flavour present in it. I did managed to appreciate the al dente tortellini that was packed nicely with meat but sadly I couldn't taste any of its flavour. Antipasto vegetable I found service a bit absent. There was no warning that this dish came with a piece of artichoke that was what we ordered as a main as well. We basically had doubled ordered but neither the staff or the chef was kind enough to tell us. But luckily it was good, in fact the only good thing in this dish. The gentle flavours of olive oil being cooked in it and the texture was buttery tender. The aubergine were herby but over salted again making us very thirsty whilst the courgettes were so overcooked they became dry and tough. Risotto This was only half cooked and therefore lacking the creamy consistency a good risotto should have. It was incredibly difficult to chew being the hard texture it was. There was notes of seafood but so salty again it became very one noted. Couldn't really taste or see any shrimps in there but there was definitely some squid and mussels lurking around. Very disappointing! Orecchiette ai broccoli The only dish that was seasoned nicely. The flavours were light and creamy and became a lovely break from all the salt. Sadly it was cooked poorly so it was still hard round the edges of some of the pasta. Serving uncooked pasta is not cool. 2 Carciofi Alla Romana This was the only dish that had no faults. Then again we had it previously in our starters so knew it would be good. The artichokes were just simply seasoned, cooked in olive oil and water maintaining its lovely buttery texture, lightly flavoured and melting soft consistency. Ossobucco Once again this was slightly on the salty side but wasn't so much to not appreciate the tangy yet sweet tomato sauce and how tender and juicy the veal was. The bone marrow was lovely and gooey. Of course over the meal the salt does get to you. Just wished I had something to take the salt away so I can truly appreciate this dish. A terrible experience overall, both food and service. We couldn't spot a single local in sight which says a lot about its food. Being in a touristy area I guess it was one of the tourist trap we fell into. Would avoid if you care about your heart and salt intake.

    Menu

I got suckered in by the cheap menu outside. Ordered the roast chicken set which was basically chicken that was microwaved again, potato soggy unlike fresh baked one as advertised. *** brought me bread which I didn't touch ! Told them I never touched it but they didn't care and still proceeded to charge me for it ! Rather DIDHONEST and UNETHICAL business practice ! So when I have the untouched bread to another guest as I left and made sure they are aware to not be charged for it. Other items on the menu maybe good (which I didn't try) but take ur money to a more honest business. ***

They rushed us to get out the minute the food was served and then charged us for 3x stale bread we didn't order. Tourist hustle place.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

For dessert, we opted for a slice of their featured lemon torta. It was enjoyable and we paired it with espresso. Finally, our server offered us a popular digestivi - Amaro.
