I am utterly disgusted. After being a patient for over 30 years this immediate cares patient care…read moreor lack thereof was totally unacceptable. Upon bringing in a patient in after calling and verifying walk ins welcomed, we were turned away! Please keep in mind we arrived 16 minutes agter the call. The receptionist that I spoke with rolled her eyes when we were told by the younger receptionist we would bot be seen, that is ridiculous. The patient that was brought in was an asthmatic. We informed them of the reason for the visit. The younger receptionist went to get a nurse that confirmed shortness of breath and chest tightness from triage. The nurse advised us that they were going to speak with the provider. 15 minutes later the younger receptionist came back again and told us we could not be seen! This was a total waste of time! From the most recent reviews it appears that this is becoming the norm and it is absolutely unacceptable! It appears that the staff was more concerned about getting home on time than patients. Being that Northwestern Medicine is a well respected establishment, something needs to change locally sooner than later. I remember the days when this immediate care rated 5 stars. It is my hope that you all get this turned around.

I most likely won't be coming here ever again! I am so defeated by my last experience. I came in…read morebecause I was having flu like symptoms and thought I'd go in for some quick antibiotics or something. When I got there the staff was nice but she did tell me it will be a long wait, and she kept pushing for the tele-health option. This is where the doctor calls you via phone and you describe your symptoms to them and they diagnose you from there. They don't see you at all. I opted to do this option because it wasn't anything too too serious, just flu like symptoms so why not? It took about 1 hour to receive a call from the Doctor. She was friendly, asked me all the basic questions my symptoms, do I have any allergies, taking any medication, etc. she set up for me to get tested for Covid-19, Flu, and Strep Throat. I still never laid eyes on my Doctor, after you're done talking to to them on the phone you wait in the lobby to do any testing you may need. Waiting to get tested didn't take long at all. Got tested and I was free to go and they call you with the results. So, I got my call and to my surprised I tested negative for all 3 test. So, the same Doctor called me back with my results and told me she will be prescribing me with 2 medications and a nasal spray. One of the medications was for pain (I'm assuming for my sore throat), the other medication was a cough suppressant which the pharmacist told me was very, very strong. I ended up not taking the cough suppressant because that doesn't even sound healthy. I wanted to encourage my body to cough up any phlegm because that's how it naturally gets rid of the bacteria that's making me sick. So I did take the pain pill and I did the nasal spray. I thought all was well and I went to sleep for the night. I woke up in a huge pool of blood (like a really really big puddle, which I won't show because it's very graphic). And that was coming from my nose. Throughout the day my nose bled 3 more times and it was a lot of blood. I did not take anymore of the nasal spray or any medicine she prescribed for that matter. I ended up calling this facility and telling them what happened. I did not talk to the same Doctor but instead I was speaking to a nurse. She told me to stop taking the nasal spray (duh). So then that night I went to a different clinic and their Doctor told me that the spray that was prescribed is extremely strong and really dried out my sinuses. He told me to go buy some over the counter saline spray to put moisture back into my nasal passage. So I've been doing that and the nosebleeds have stopped, but my eyes are bloodshot red, like extremely red. I thought I popped a blood vessel in there or something, and they have been bloodshot red for going on 3 days. They're not irritated, or itchy, or discharging pus or anything crazy like that. I just think the nasal spray dried my eyes out too. I've tried eye drops but nothing is working. So I will be taking a trip back to the Doctor tomorrow to try to figure out what this nasal spray did to me. I've been running around looking like a deranged vampire, with these bloodshot eyes. I can't even go to work with my eyes in this condition, and I would really like to get back to work. I really wish I never used those prescriptions. If there's one thing I don't mess with it's my face. Hopefully I can get my beautiful eyeballs back. I'm so disheartened. I'm only giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly. However, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Simply put, knowing my TRUE body fat % and composition motivated me to train harder and eat even…read morebetter than I did before I got scanned. If you have even a passing interest in your health, then go to Dexa Fit and get a DXA body scan done. If you REALLY want to know what your body is comprised of, there is no better way of measuring than DXA technology. Your bathroom scale, the "pincer" method... water / air displacement - these methods are fooling you into thinking you have less body fat than you actually do. A couple of great reasons to get a scan at Dexa Fit: 1) Non invasive procedure - I got my scan done in shorts and a t-shirt. No uncomfortable nudity, no swimsuits, no people pinching your fat. 2) Total accuracy. And I mean total. For example, it will tell you how much lean mass you have in your arms, legs, trunk, how much bone mass you have, how much fat is in your bones and CNS, and what KIND of fat you are storing (android / gynoid). It will also give you your T- and Z-scores for bone density - and more. 3) Gives you your RMR - resting metabolic rate - how many calories your body burns when you just sit on your butt all day. That helps to create a plan to burn more calories than you consume on a daily basis - the foundation for a successful weight loss program. 4) Excellent, caring, and very well informed techs: Matt and Alex are highly knowledgeable about training, weight loss/gain, and can (and do) help you to make sense of the results. They walk the walk, too - both are in excellent health and clearly practice what they preach. 5) Literally takes a total of 15 minutes from entry to exit. I will warn you - if you've been using a bathroom scale or the "pinch" method to measure or estimate your body fat, you are going to get a higher reading than you're used to seeing. Get mentally prepared for that, because it is definitely going to happen - the DXA method measures the fatty tissue of your brain (8 lbs) and fat in your bones and sinews that other methods can't measure. This adds an estimated 5% or more to what you're used to seeing with other methods. Don't let that bother you - just accept it as a "new normal" and work to lower your fat from there. It's a new benchmark point - just a way more accurate one. These guys are great - the process is excellent and worth every penny - give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.

If you're interested in getting serious about weight loss and fitness, this is your starting point…read more I've been in twice - first time for all 3 tests (DXA body fat scan, resting metabolic rate and VO2) to establish a baseline. Test results were explained in great detail and there was advice for how to leverage the data for losing fat. At the time of my first visit I bought the package for a return visit for all 3 tests that I'll do once I'm at my target. I expect my RMR in particular will be lower so I want to set myself up for success long term. I'm at the midpoint in my weight loss so I recently went in after purchasing a groupon for a DEXA scan only. Seeing that I've been losing fat and not muscle mass was great and even more interesting was seeing where I've lost more/less around the body - for example my loss to date has been disproportionately in the waist/trunk. As others have said, be prepared for the scan results to be much higher than other less accurate methods you've used previously. Mine is about 7pts higher than my home scale and gym measurement. Don't be disappointed by the small room and no frills location. All you need is their equipment and advice. Data is power - use it!
