I have been fasting for 9hrs & when I come in this morning, 1st employee who drew my blood said I could not drink water..next hour later I asked the next employee who drew my blood said that it was okay to drink water. every time I ask the same question to a different employee, none of their answers matched up at all. This lab is atrocious. Essentially worse employees manning the front counter than you'd find at most fast food joints. Their lack of communication skills and language is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm frankly beyond surprised that the company is even willing to hire people with such lack of ability. Beyond that the ability for this location to take care of folks in a timely fashion flat out sucks. I wonder if any corporate types even follow recommendations/reviews that are posted online. The probably don't care, and it's obvious at this location. The fact that they now have digital check in makes it even more apt for those employees manning the desk not to really deal with you. They have taken the idea of customer service and care for something that is pretty serious, to a super low level. Have an appointment? Don't worry....it means nothing to these people. Your time is your problem....that's the attitude there. Receptionist needs better training in customer service. Bad attitude should not be seen in this kind of service. There are so many Quest offices to stop by. If it keeps hiring under training staff like Lauren who we were unfortunately encountered with, then this office will be out of business soon. I wonder if she is having racial issue? She might be nicer if we are the same race? if it is truly her problem then I strongly believe that the words of mouth surely go a long way to the community here. I originally was reading the reviews for Quest at 2147 Mowry. They are almost in the same place so I'm not sure if they are referring to the same Quest or not. Anyway, this one is also extremely busy. I came in on a Wednesday morning and there were ~35 people in the waiting room. All I had to do was pay a bill and it took ~20 minutes. It was stuffy and smelly in the waiting room too because of all the people. I asked one of the receptionists how long the wait usually was, and she said anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes! She recommended making an appointment and avoiding mornings if you want a shorter wait. So when I had to get my blood drawn here I was worried it would be equally bad, but it wasn't. I made an appointment online for 9:40am on Saturday morning. The waiting room was not nearly as busy on Saturday, although still ~15 people there. They called my name within 10 minutes and then spent another 5-10 minutes doing paperwork, then I finally went back for the blood draw. The phlebotomist was really good and managed not to bruise me, which was amazing because I already had bruises on BOTH arms from having my blood drawn 2 days ago at another lab. She managed to find a third vein which had been hiding, and didn't bruise it. Excellent. If you have to go here: Make an appointment, and avoid Wednesday mornings apparently. read more

Unfortunately this is the closest location to our home , I have standing get orders and my husband also goes here . 1st have an appointment or your likely to wait a long time . But my purpose on writing this , is the treatment to the customers that come in , my husband and I are both self sufficient and can get through the computer check in but watching the people at the front desk talk to people who may not understand is just sad , I have never seen anyone here be customer service oriented or friendly to people in need of additional help . I understand it's a cattle call mentality to get people in and out as fast as possible so they can make as much money as they can IN one day but treating people like crap in the process is bad buissness . People do not want to be here , trust me , so the least quest could do is have their employees trained in compassion , friendly and simple customer service to people . I came here at the end of the day on a Friday. There was no one in line at the time and only a handful of people in the waiting room. I got called almost right away, which was nice. I got this younger dark Filipino guy that drew my blood and it was very painful! I've had my blood drawn several times before and this one really stung! I thought that was the end of that but 30 minutes later after I left I got a phone call from that same guy and told me that he didn't draw enough blood and needed me to come back and get more! Geez!! He's already spent a long time drawing my blood too! That's never happened to me before. I told him I can't come back today and that I shouldn't get it done tomorrow either since it would skew the test results of my lab work. In the end, he said that they will make do with what they got. I hope they don't screw up my test results! He doesn't even apologize for his mistake, which really irks me since getting blood drawn from him was bad enough already. Maybe he was just tired and/or lacked the experience, but still if you screw up then you need to own up to that. These places are more or less the same and your experience really depends on who you get. So if I were you guys, I would definitely try to avoid that guy (for now until he gets better at it). 3 and 1/2 stars for the place, 2 stars for that guy. read more

I cannot believe they put 2-3 phlebotomists on Saturday in a such busy location ... I admit I did not have an appointment but 2.5 hour wait time is ridiculous. Poor phlebotomists could not even take a break and they were all mad ..... they were supposed to close at 11 but they have a room full of people. Unbelievable ! Do not recommend this location at all or make sure you book your appointment online. read more

If possible, I would give this place a -5 stars only due to the male receptionist working there at 3/28/15 @8:45am. Never go to this place on weekends if you have an appointment. The appointment for my 77 yr old disabled aunt required fasting. We were only 3 mins late when he asked us to wait until he was ready. It took him 10 mins to get back to us and had the nerve to tell us we were almost 15 mins late and had to line up with the walk-ins which is an hour wait. So we just left because my aunt was diabetic and dizzy from hunger. The receptionist should be fired for his rudeness, unprofessionalism, and lack of compassion for a disabled senior citizen. I was here many years ago, I do not remember that experience except for today's , got there at 9am, signed in 20 minute wait, went up to the receptionist to give my insurance info, waited another 20 minutes to get blood taken, out by 10am, so the question is who has the less wait time, dr Jains office, Washington hospital or Quest Diagnostics, I say it is a tie between quest and Washington hospital, Jain's office the wait is up to an hour and sometimes the person does not show up...... read more

Earlier this week I made a 10 a.m. appointment for today's blood draw. Even though the lobby was VERY crowded, I was done by 10:15. Professional staff. Friendly phlebotomist - she had more contact time to chat as she worked than did the receptionist. Note to self: If possible, avoid Friday mornings. read more

When I recently got my lab tests prescribed my cardiologist, done at this location, I requested a copy of the results to be sent to another doctor who is my Primary Care Physician. They asked me to fill out a form and sign. I did. In that they asked me the Doctor's Fax # which I don't have at that time. I gave the name, phone # & the address. They didn't tell me that the fax # is essential. After that I called Quest Diagnostics Client Services @ 510-793-8783 four times. First they said, that I have to wait 7 days. Ok I waited and then called again. Now they said they don't have the fax # that is the reason they couldn't send the results. And they said since they have the phone # they will call my doctor and take the fax # and send the results. I waited 3 or 4 days and called again. This time even without listening to me properly the customer service rep said we have all the details and we will forward it again. So I waited another 3 days and called again. This time after verifying all my identity details and keeping me on hold for about 5 minutes, the customer service rep says they can not send the results because they don't have the fax #. Then I said I can give the fax #. She said that she can not take the fax # from me over phone now. If she is really not allowed to take info from the customer, she can at least call the doctor's office and find out the fax # based on the name, address & phone #, which I have provided earlier, in my written application submitted at the time of lab test. The customer service reps are mostly evasive, rude sometimes, and ill-equipped with the required information. My experience with the lab in Fremont is so far good. read more

I waited 2 full hours just for dropping off my urine sample! I know I didn't make appointment, and I expected to wait. But for dropping off sample, I would never expect to wait for such a long time! If that's the case, I wouldn't even bother to do this test. After 45 mins of waiting, I asked one of the front desk ladies named Fiona when I would be called. She asked me if I signed in, I said yes. She simply asked me to wait. I told her I waited over over 30 minutes, and asked how much longer I have to wait. She said "people made appoints, just wait to be called". When all people were called and the waiting room was empty, one of the ladies named Lauren started to play with her phone. Then I asked her if they were still calling people's names. She said no. I was shocked and asked her why I hasn't been called. She checked the computer and said she didn't see my name. Then she changed, saying sometimes they called and people don't respond. Then she asked me why I didn't do anything when waiting this long. She's just trying to find an excuse to blame me. I was mad and told her that I was here the whole time. And I did talk to the other lady and she just asked me to wait. I raised my voice because I was really mad and I had to let them know that's due to their mistake. Then Lauren asked me to calm down otherwise she's not going to process my test. Isn't that insane?!! You did something wrong and expect me to beg you for helping me out. This is unacceptable. Then she asked my husband to sign the paper for me because she refused to talk to me anymore. I didn't say anything insulting or cursing. I simply raised my voice. And I deserved not being helped? Is that how you train your staff? I was very disaapointed at this experience. I feel like the staff working there are cold blooded machines. They don't care about people at all! read more

second time here after 2 years later, Forgot to ask about the young lady's name, i think she was Hispanic, but she was nice to me and i came after 1pm on thrusday where there is no people, got help right away and went into the room to do my lab, in and out less then 5 mins. hope to be the same next year when i come back. read more

I made an appointment at this lab and arrived early, The man at the front desk actually appeared angry that I had an appointment because the place was overflowing with walk ins. I provided my lab orders and insurance card and he asked me to sit and wait to be called. I sat and waited...and waited...and waited... After about 2 hours I asked why I wasn't called since I had made an appointment. The ladies at the front desk could not find my paperwork. After sifting through papers, they found my paperwork and copy of the insurance card in the "uninsured" pile. They took me back very quickly at that point and the phlebotomist seemed competent. The guy at the front desk was obviously either disorganized, careless, or dimwitted. This gave me pause for concern. Do they also mix up lab results? Will they send my bloodwork under my name or will they mix this up, too? Needless to say, I would recommend any other lab service if you want to be treated well and have your labs handled properly. read more

Terrible front desk service. Terrible Automated appointment setup service as well. I fasted for 12 hours only to find out that the automated service didn't capture my name correctly so they wouldn't honor my appointment schedule. I even got a confirmation number but I forgot to bring it. How could I get a confirmation if I didn't set up an appointment? Since this is a prime place in with over crowded Fremont residents, they completely ignore the customer service as they know that even with their worst service, patients do not have an option but to flock this place. There is no way to talk to a human in Quest to book an emergency appointment as it goes to automated booking system so even if you go directly to the center for questions or help, the reception staff are rude, unhelpful and talk rough in aggressive tone and this has happened to me many times so this is not due to certain individuals but seems like their culture, I dont have experience with the lab staff though so cannot comment on them. read more
