Terrible experience at M.D. Express Urgent Care (Newport News)…read more I went in fully aware of what was wrong with me and exactly what I needed to get better - something my primary care physician has successfully prescribed for me multiple times in the past. After a culture confirmed what I already knew, I simply asked for the medication that I know works for my body. Instead, I was met with condescension and arrogance from Helena Lewis, the practitioner on duty, who outright refused to prescribe it. She informed me the side effects were too risky, despite me explaining clearly that I've taken this medication before with no problems - and that I'm well aware of the risks. Her response? Still no. Let me be clear: the medication I asked for is NOT a narcotic, it has no recreational value, and to my knowledge, it can't be abused or used to make illegal substances. Yet I walked out of there with nothing. I was essentially told that I was going to take what Ms. Lewis wanted me to take because she decided she knew my body better than me or my own doctor. She didn't listen, didn't trust my experience, and didn't care that I work 13-hour shifts for the next three days and couldn't wait to see my pcp or take more time off to do so. I've had far better experiences with Patient First, where they actually listen to the patient. M.D. Express, on the other hand, clearly prioritizes their own rigid opinions over patient care and common sense. Thanks for nothing! Helena Lewis clearly has a God complex and no interest in listening! I will NEVER return here - and I suggest you don't either, unless you enjoy wasting your time, money, and energy on a provider who thinks she knows your body better than you do!

Dr. Primeaux took the time to perform a thorough examination, listened carefully to our concerns, and created a clear treatment plan. We appreciated the level of care and attention we received. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a primary care provider and hope their hard work gets recognized.

From start to finish, the service member at the reception on the ground floor to the nurses that took cake of my husband, were all very nice! They were all courteous, very helpful, and some event cheerful! Military facilities don't exactly have a stellar reputation, so I wasn't expecting to much, but we were seen in a timely manner, the nurses was thorough and explained the process. It's a quiet clinic, and doesn't seem to get lots of traffic, but that's fine with me if it means great bedside manners and proper care. The only thing that I noticed that needs work is the snack bar. Due to the nature of the procedure, I was told, as the caretaker that I could not leave the building so I had to resort to getting something at the snack bar. We had to leave very early in the morning so I had no time for breakfast, so your girls was starving! They seemed to have broken equipment and because of this, had very limited options for hot food items. It was still clean and neatly kept. They could probably use a better coffee machine and maybe some more grab and go baked items. The man behind the counter was nice though. I guess better a snack bar than no snack bar though right? Now with this new program, they're doing guess it's some VIP program which would cost me more money to see the same doctor really irritating me. I'm leaving the practice. I guess it just goes to show money means more than a patient! And what is the icing on the cake? I'm having trouble getting my records sent to my new doctor. I'm gonna have to go up there again and request them because I need to see a doctor.

The tech who did my X-ray was really friendly and patient with me. She saw I was having a hard time standing still due to the pain in my legs for the X-rays, so she got me a stool to sit in, which made it easier for me to be still for the images. I appreciated that!! The waiting area inside was clean and had plenty of seating. The front desk staff was nice also!! There was a nice view of the water and the surrounding area. There's a parking garage connected to the building. The 1st 2 hours is free. I'd come back to this diagnostic center again! Check them out!!

This Diagnostic Center is located in the 301 Riverview Building at Fort Norfolk Plaza. It's a…read moregreat place to get your blood work & testing done if you've just seen a doctor in that same building. Taking up the 8th floor of that building is their spacious waiting room, quality facilities & friendly personnel. It's a much easier Sentara location for the diagnostics they offer because of the adjoining parking garage with easy access to the elevator. Step out of the elevator onto the 8th floor and you will immediately find, to the right, the Diagnostic Center entrance doors. There is no weather or long walking lot issues to bother you. The only negative is that the results don't usually come through on your MyChart App until the next day. They send Blood Work across the street to the hospital for processing. Blood Work done at the hospitals, such as Leigh, are sometimes available on MyChart shortly after returning home. It's pretty amazing. The Building is located on the south side of Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Colley, right on Southampton then right on Riverview. The parking garage is on the back side of the building (from Brambleton). Don't forget to get you parking ticket validated so it's free.
