I had a scheduled appointment for cortisol which requires medication to drink before the appointment and you should draw your blood in a specific time . When i asked why my scheduled appointment is being late the phlebotomist Armenian women started to argue and be rude with me then she told that she can't take my insurance when i told her i have done test in that exact location she told me that its impossible. When i asked for manager she lied to me that she is the manager ! Absolutely horrible person with so much anger! Cortisol test is a stress hormone test which i am sure my test will be messed up because of her evil behavior! Do better life is to short ! Care quality is 0 ! Worst experience ever! I've been going to quest for a very long time but this location is by far the worst. The Nurse named Lucy was very rude and showed no compassion. She told me the child she drew blood from before me was stronger than I was. "She didn't even flinch". She could not draw blood from my arm. She told me "why didn't you drink water? Didn't anyone teach you to drink water before a blood test" I felt anxious and left to get fresh air. I went back inside to ask for a different nurse but she told me I forfeited my time slot and I needed to leave. What type of place is this? Never going there again. Do not go to this location unless you want to waste your precious time. We went there to get the lab work for our baby. Checked in and selected option to wait outside. Then got text and went inside and waited over 30 min and realized people came after us were going in so we asked what is going on. And the lady with black and blue hair said we called you but you were not there so you are not in the system anymore. We went in right away when text came in, and I think they messed up and either forgot to call us or just skipped us. Are you a walk in? Don't bother. You basically enter a room, not an office with chairs, tv, and kiosks. NO workers are in the room and actually hidden behind their door. You just have to figure out crap yourself. They have signs everywhere encouraging you to sign up if you are a walk in using their kiosks. You sign up and it gives you a time they will see you. However this is FALSE. What they don't tell you is if you are a walkin you are not important, appointments come before you... that means ALL appointments... the entire day of appointments. Is there a sign that tells you that? No. Is there a staffed personnel to tell you that? No. You see your name on the digital board queue and see it moving along, so you think OK I guess I am in line. YOU AREN'T. It isn't intuitive and like I said NO ONE TO ASK QUESTIONS. Quest doesn't want to pay or staff appropriately causing a long wait for people who haven't eaten in over 12 hours! I am going to a different quest lab cause my doctor alreasy sent a request, but I wasted 1.5 hours waiting here to then someone tell us we won't be seen even though they encourage walk ins. When you walk into the lobby, there's a large room with chairs along the wall and a couple touch screens on stands to get checked in. The touch screens are so carelessly set up that with each tap the entire screen stand rattles loudly on the floor. They both do that. Meanwhile a video telling you to understand how much care goes into each visit. A woman just came out and saw me writing my review. She has very great hair dye. She advised me to leave and come back another time since I don't have an appointment. They are very short staffed, she says. It's then that I realize this is the same angry woman from 4 years ago when I did my previous review. This place is as unsustainable as it gets in the current situation. I am someone who typically hates getting their blood drawn, I mean, stay up all night with anxiety type of hatred. I made an appointment for 6:40 to get in and out, and Fernando saw me immediately. I told him I get nauseous when I get my blood drawn and he was very accommodating and let me lay down. This was the most painless and quick experience I've ever had. Three vials in under 30 seconds! refused service. I wish I got her name. she said unable to do blood draw because my son's medical group did not have a contract with their location. I asked her to please check because he had a different medical group from the one listed on the physical card- she refused to look it up to confirm. I asked if I could call my insurance to confirm, she refused. I asked her to please run it through ppo instead of hmo, she refused. so 30+ minutes of waiting (we had an appointment) my 10 year old son had to do for his very first blood draw with mounting anxiety was all for nothing because she didn't feel like being helpful or to problem solve in any way. she just kept shutting me down with a firm "no!" I got home, called my insurance and they confirmed all my suspicions- I should have been able to call them while there, they should have taken my ppo, and they should have checked my medical group to see if they had a contract with the correct one, which they did. it doesn't take much effort to help someone, but she wasted our time and my patience. I have to take him back next Monday, I better be able to get his blood drawn with no issues now that I am equipped with the knowledge that I have. read more

I had my 3hr GTT at this location. The lady who drew my first three vials of blood was ok even if she kept fishing for my vein. I'm an RN but kept quiet as I don't want them to feel uncomfortable doing their job. For the 4th and last draw, another older lady did it. She poked me three times. She also fished again even if I kept telling her where they usually draw my blood. She tried to draw at the same spot that the previous tech used. She fished on both veins twice. She failed, that's fine. What is not right is when I pointed to her my go to vein, she removed the butterfly needle from my other vein and poked me with THE SAME NEEDLE!!! It was very QUICK I COULDNT EVEN SAY A THING. I just can't believe she did that! She did not even disinfect the spot and who the hell REUSES A NEEDLE?!!! By the way, they know I am pregnant that's why I am doing the GTT but they do not care if I get infection or not! I am never coming back. Now waiting for my result but they also maybe have messed it up because before I left, someone else's paper was clipped with my paperwork. She even made a comment about it. Nothing is showing as pending result on my quest app. We'll see! ADD: She was from another room with a pt, walked out with the same gloves she wore with that pt and went to another room and touched stuff. Then she used the same glove to draw my blood! OK, so this is what happened with my new blood panels this morning... I originally was set to have them done right across the hall from Sucgang Family Medicine on Las tunes. But 2 weeks ago I left my weekly O.M.T session with the interns at Sucgang Family Medicine I reviewed my calendar and realized that I didn't have that much time left before my blood work so I opted to go across the hall and take a seat and wait. Lol I was met by a locked door and a notice on the door that read emergency closure will be opened next week. I phoned QUEST to reschedule my appointment for next week. I went home and returned last week .. only to be met with another sign and I followed suit and phoned QUEST and rescheduled for the following Tuesday but this time I got a message that I was going to need to make an appointment for a different location for my blood work. So I opted for a completely new a new appointment over in Pasadena on Bellafintane st. I literally waited maybe 5 or 7 minutes after my arrival and I was invited into the room for my blood EXTRACTION and I literally felt nothing except for the squeeze of my medical professional. I can count on one hand how many times a technician was EVER able to draw blood from my arm in their first attempt -- Lucy is a true professional phlebotomists. She did everything in a matter of minutes, and was even wearing a mask - which as someone with an ailing parent who was also wearing a mask -- I greatly appreciated. Leave extra time for parking (I had to loop around twice to find a spot.) And definitely make an appointment as the waiting room only had @ 3 or 4 open chairs when I arrived. Go to this Quest! I went during COVID and didn't have an appointment because all appointments were booked for 3 weeks. I did a walk in right after they opened and they were able to take me. Wait: They have a large waiting room in the front that is socially distanced and the facility is clean. There were not that many people there. After I signed in, they called me back within 5 minutes. Parking: I found street parking but I think there is a paid garage right behind their building. Very good experience at this Quest, not sure why their ratings are low. This a good place and the staff is good, I wish they would all work even if there are walkins. Seems like they will make walk ins wait on purpose even if there are no patients waiting. They have done the covid precautions well. I came in for a 6:45 appt and they took me in 3 min from my check in. Ample room to socially distance indoors but also a large courtyard just outside if you prefer. Only complaint is the lack of street parking but on Bellefontaine there is some and you can cut thru the stairs on side of building to get to the Alessandro side to enter. I made an appointment but there were many walk-ins which they take in between appointments, which causes them to fall behind on their appointments. Even with an appointment you end up waiting a very long time. If this wasn't bad enough, because they have many people waiting you have to wait outside, but be warned, if they call your name and you don't hear them because you are waiting outside, where they asked you to wait, you loose your turn and are then put on the waiting list. Pros: 1. I had an online appointment and "it worked" - they knew I was coming, I had an online checkin via text, and I was seen. 2. The person who took my blood did a good job and I was out of there very quickly. Cons: 1. Parking is confusing and half a block away. 2. There are two checkin kiosks. The right one didn't work but there was no sign, and you didn't really know it didn't work even after trying to check in. I just overheard someone else saying that one doesn't go through. A worker came out and verified it wasn't working, and yet still didn't tell other people, put a sign, or unplug it... so whoever came in and used that machine thought they were checked in but they weren't. read more

If I could give it zero I would. The people here at extremely rude to the patients. They basically told all walk in that they should just come back with an appointment, said you should know you're going to wait all day, and that you should just leave because you're not a priority. There was 3 people in the room, it wasn't even crowded. They were very rude to all the people that came in, even people with appointment, treating people like cattle. I get that an appointment is better, but some people like myself have a very busy and irregular schedule, I don't need to be demeaned because my schedule only allowed me to be a walk in. I usually have such a great experience coming here but today was a fail. They had someone else running the front desk and Leme tell us, she was MEAN! She has No people skills and was so impolite. I was told she's from a different office so I guess I can't hold that against them. Also, if you're temperature sensitive I'd recommend another quest. BEWARE of an employee named Lucy - I needed to drop off a collection from a prior appointment the day before; she very rudely kicked me out of the office and had me wait 3+ hours for a process that took 90 seconds. She is bad enough that when I asked other employees for her name to call management, they knew specifically who I was referring to. As nice as the other employees are, Lucy literally and figuratively ruined my day. If you are waiting for your turn and Lucy is the name of the person calling you in - please take my advice and request another phlebotomist. I am writing this review on behalf of my father who visited recently and was treated absolutely poorly by phlebotomy technician Sima. To start, he was told he has "bad veins," a very rude and unnecessary remark. Then she proceeds to carelessly poke and prod him multiple times before finally drawing blood from his hand. He was left with multiple bruises and has been in pain for days. Sima has shown a lack of professionalism that makes her unqualified to provide proper care and service to patients. No patient deserves this fowl treatment. Especially not my dad. read more

I'd chosen this lab to go to over the years, and the service was rather perfunctory, but I don't expect phlebotomists to be joyful and effervescent. Nevertheless, my last visit led me to decide not to return. Instead of a front counter with a human, there is now a wall. There was a repeated recording that was so low, I didn't hear it all. I thought my name would be called, per usual. After 30" waiting for my scheduled appointment, I managed to ask a staff person when I would be called. I didn't know there was a monitor with names from where I was sitting, and I thought the recording said to wait until called. Anyway, the jab of the needle in my arm hurt quite a bit, which I hadn't felt before, through the whole blood draw. The phlebotomist was surprised by the pain. Two days later, the inner side of my elbow joint hurts with certain movements. Additionally, I was asked to leave a specimen back in the room where my blood was drawn on the sink. In the past, I'd left it in an opening in the restroom. This felt sloppy to me. These folks are overworked. They are understaffed at this location. I suspect that doesn't lower the fees for service to one's respective medical insurance. Anyway, I won't return to that center. If other Quest centers end up the same way--understaffed and automated, I'll use another service. read more

Poor customer service and lack of employee support. I had an urgent issue after being seen and could not communicate with anyone directly. After a few minutes of knocking on the door, no one came. I banged on the door with my foot to make a loud sound and finally a woman answered and was rude and verbally abusive. She completely dismissed my complaints with no apology and more verbal abuse. Restrooms not maintained due to lack of staff. There was a plastic collection container with dried urine still in the toilet blocking the opening. No way to communicate directly with staff due to closed and locked door and no customer service window. Logging in is via tablets only. read more

I came to the Quest Pasadena today, it was an unethical and unprofessional policy that Quest have in treating their patients/ customers. I practice in health field, I see patients run late, doctors run late, nurses run late, procedure might take varied time. Circumstance arises but in health field, a 10 minute policy is unethical to turn customer/ patient away especially when it is not easy to make appointments with work/ life schedules. A blood drawn is key to diagnosis & a person well being, yet a 10 minutes is what that can cause someone to have a day or more delay in the information of their health. I don't blame the staff today, I think the system needs to review their operation, they shouldn't overbook people that causes auto cancellation so quickly or they should add an additional staff to allow a flexible time frame to allow patients to have their needed labs drawn if circumstances are to arise. I came 10-11 minutes late for my 1130 am appointment, I was told I could wait. Yet they have at least one no show and one cancellation, yet they couldn't allow me to have my blood drawn. Another guy who showed for his appointment ahead of time and was cancelled at the end because they didn't sound his name and had the spelling incorrectly. During my wait of 1 hour, the first staff stated the 10 minutes rule policy but said I could still wait. Another staff later announced something else different, "we don't take any walk in after 1130". I stood up and said that was contradictory. Two more staff came later to speak to me, yet the time they took to explain the policy, they could have me come in for a blood drawn. I fasted 12 hours and explained to the staff- circumstances happened, what if I had a car accident, what If I was old and transportation person was late, what if the road is wet.... I used Labcorp previously and few other labs depending on my doctor's preference, but they don't simply stick to the rule and not allow you to come In especially it has only been under 15 minutes. They would accommodate and only turn people that shows half an hour prior to close time and they would allow people to take the no show slot. Patient could wait for a long time yet if Quest service runs behind, it's fine?! read more

I had to get one panel done, 1 singular vial. The woman who drew the blood did not change her gloves, drew the blood, snapped the needle out of my arm making me jump from my seat then accidentally dropped the vial in the trash bin. She proceeded to dig through the trash and eventually found my vial. Hope she changed her gloves for the next client! Horrible experience!!! I left Quest feeling distressed and angry. Got into my car, removed the bandage and noticed that my arm was swollen. I immediately started icing the area and giving gentle massages as the pain was developing. Look at the images. They removed the front desk person so now it's an iPad. This causes chaos cause no one can ask a simple question. This Quest location was easy to find. If you head northbound on Fair Oaks Ave, you will make a left on Bellefontaine. The building is located on the first floor next to a pharmacy on the left. The parking structure is located on the right. Parking is free for 20 mins at the parking structure. Make sure you make an appointment in advance to avoid a possible 1 hour wait. They are usually very busy through out the day. My appointment today was a 7:15 am and it was easy to check in and the lady at the front was nicer than most Quest locations. My phlebotomist is Thuy. She was super friendly even at 7 am. I am never a needle person and have to admit that I have a low tolerance for pain. Yes it did hurt when she inserted the needle. I was almost sure I was going o see a bruise later. Surprisely, she left no bruise. I can't even tell where she drew the blood. I was so impressed with her service that I had to write a review for her. Overall Thuy was very friendly and professional. I rarely write reviews, but I was super disappointed with my experience here. TLDR: avoid this location and book at Glendale instead. I went to this location 3 separate times because they failed to draw blood each time. I'm not sure if the staff are insufficiently trained or inexperienced, but I had ~4 different phlebotomists try to draw blood and none could. I drank plenty of water, used heating packs, and they tried 5 different locations (inside of elbows, wrists, top of hand), and i was just left bruised with no blood drawn. They also used the same needle for multiple pokes which isn't safe. After I waited a couple weeks, I booked at Glendale instead and they got blood on the first try. Some of the staff here were also rude during my appointments, but I could put up with that as long as I get my blood drawn. I also understand that they're super busy, but after having a seamless experience elsewhere I figured it was an issue with this location. read more

Early December Late morning visit with an appointment NOTE: Once again, I'm writing this review on behalf of a patient who wants to remain anonymous (they'll have more contact with this center and don't want any problems). Covid-19 is life-threatening. So why was this Quest office so DIRTY? Most offices have someone assigned to spritz and wipe at regular intervals for safety. Not Quest! The waiting room was so-so, the clinical room was tolerable, but the bathroom was disgusting (a serious problem if you have to give a urine sample). I would have left, but I have serious health issues that needed testing immediately. If, like me, you must enter this place, cover yourself in all the PPE you can find.
