When I came the first time, while it was closed on 06/26/2026, I found the sign hard to read as I came up the street from Hemlock into the parking lot. However, I was able to find it which is in the grey building and once you walk into the building entrance it is located on the left where there is a bench. There is an entrance door with the schedule and a QR code with information on how to schedule an appointment here. You could come as a walk-in too. I had scheduled an appointment via phone where I had to talk to an automated system and get an appointment confirmation number. I recommend writing down or taking note of your confirmation number because when I checked in today (06/29/2026) the Quest Diagnostics system mentioned there was no appointment for me using my name, birthday, and phone number. When I used the appointment confirmation code, it confirmed I had an appointment so MAKE SURE TO GET CONFIRMATION NUMBER in case the system wants to make your day challenging. Good thing I came about a little over half an hour earlier because this would have been a potential issue for me to be seen quicker or at the time I scheduled. Also, MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR ID and INSURANCE CARDS where you will be scanning them near the bottom right side of the iPad check-in monitors. In terms of the type of care I received a serum blood test for my metabolic panel and pregnancy, the quality of the care was straightforward and fast. I sat down in the chair where there is an armrest. Gave the paperwork order for my bloodwork to the phlebotomist. She verified my basic information and then started to feel out my veins on my arm. She was able to find my vein with no issue which was relieving for me because I've had many times where I'm a "hard stick" where I've been poked multiple times before getting any blood drawn so that was nice. Absolutely unacceptable experience at Quest Diagnostics. We scheduled an appointment online and arrived on time, but still had to wait nearly 40 minutes to be seen -- with a 1-year-old baby in hand. When we were finally called in, they informed us they had run out of baby needles and sent us to a different location 20 minutes away. At the second location, we were forced to wait as walk-ins for over an hour. Even worse, they were out of baby vials (blood tubes) and couldn't draw all the labs in one go. The staff was clearly unprepared -- they didn't know how to split the labs or calculate how much blood could be safely drawn based on my baby's weight. The whole ordeal lasted over 3.5 hours. At no point did anyone take responsibility or show any concern for the fact that we were dealing with a small child. We had disclosed this information when booking the appointment. Why weren't we notified about the lack of appropriate equipment before we arrived? This experience was not only a massive waste of time but also incredibly stressful and frustrating. Quest Diagnostics showed a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for patients -- especially infants. We will not be returning. read more

The location is super convenient to downtown Irvine, and the wait was minimal. I arrived a little early and there was no delay to see me. My doctor managed to fax in the order, and although I didn't have my insurance card printed they just used the eCard I had. I didn't request the butterfly needle, and the nurse WAS going to use the big scary needle, but luckily for me she changed her mind. These people are very rude and not very accommodating. My father is undergoing chemo treatments and needs to have blood work done every couple weeks. My mother tried taking him in to get blood work done but there weren't any appointments for this location or others in the surrounding area. We decided to bring him in to this location at the end of the day in hopes that they'd take him in as a walk in, but they denied him even after explaining the situation. There's one woman in particular who is always rude to my mom when she brings my dad in. We're very disappointed that they can't take 5 extra minutes of their time to draw blood from a sick old man. read more

The place isn't hard to find and the room is all the way in the front so just follow the signs to the front door. Going in the place looked a little bit run down. There's a huge wet spot on the ceiling in the waiting room. When I made the appointment pretty much all the slots were open so when I got there it just opened after lunch. There were a few people waiting so the front desk nurse was a little frantic getting all the paperwork done for everyone. There's a $25 fee for every lab test no matter what insurance you have but I don't think it charges until your insurance figures out the cost. My appointment was at 1:30 and I was immediately put into a room to wait for the front desk nurse. Another nurse came to ask me twice if I was someone else so that was a bit confusing..... The nurse that drew my blood was very professional though and it didn't hurt at all!! And it was super quick. read more

Wow! For such a large organization you would think that they would have their stuff together. I travel to Hawaii on business and Quest is one of only a few COVID19 NAAT testing companies approved by HI since opening up for travel. I followed the links to register online, make my appointment and pay but their system is so messed up that you can't even schedule. Try registering and it says "Oops! Something went wrong, try again"... and again, and again. Then you try the "Contact us" and the little picture confirmation that says I'm not a robot... well you can see the pictures but the description of what you're supposed to click on is off the screen... geeesh! Oh, and good luck actually trying to speak to someone even if you can look up the number of a nearby location... its all automated. Next step will be walking in to try and get a straight answer from a human being... that is, if one will talk to me and actually be able to help with such a simple process. This office is great!!! The office staff is really on the ball! I went for a 1hr and again for a 3 hour gestational diabetes test. Each time I made an appointment, brought my order from my doctor, and my insurance card. Walk in, sign in, take a seat (usually one opens up in a few minutes), and wait to be called to the counter if need be. The receptionist really knows how to run the show here. She will take you within 15 minutes of your scheduled time. The phlebotomists are very professional and sterile. Some people have talked about how dirty the place is, but if you would see how many people they get through every day you would understand that it cannot be sparkling clean. I went in for a blood draw, and gratefully had an appointment. When I arrived, the waiting room was full. The kind lady at the front desk said I would be called within 15 minutes of my appointment, and I was. The lady who drew my blood was very good, and got a good brain on her first try. I have rolling veins, and had not eaten or drank anything. But she was able to get what was needed with very little pain. I highly recommend having an appointment, because Quest is busy. read more

I came at 8:40 am for my 8:45 am appt. I sat down after signing in and realized I forgot to bring my lab orders. So I approach reception table, regular receptionist just went in to the lab but then another person was there and I mentioned that I forgot my lab order so I will just make another appt but then she said maybe the order is on-line and OMG it was (thanks for automation) NICE! She went inside lab and informed the receptionist because she already knew when she got back, and proceeded to tell me to come in and go to Room 3! WOW. My phlebotomist Sara prepped me for drawing blood and she is the one poke lady, she knew where the vein was! Awesome. I finished up. I was done and out of there within 20-25 minutes! I didn't have a problem finding the room. Maybe the building made it easier to find. Suite 101 is located near the front, but I was able to get to it after parking in the rear and walking through the first floor. Make an appointment online. My visit was pretty quick, and the phlebotomist was a Hispanic woman who was really nice and performed the least painful blood draw I've ever had. I made sure to drink plenty of water beforehand. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't lay down. I get sweaty if I have to sit up. read more

You could easily pass this one up so give yourself time to find it and then find the correct floor and suite. I'd say give yourself an extra ten minutes to get lost a little bit. It's in one of those building with several floors that have lots of little pathways that all look the same...imagine a small hospital-type building? Scary... Anyway, that was one small @$$ waiting area and boy was it packed! Only about 15 seats and 10 of them totally filled. It's a small room and the kiddos were coughing up a storm in there. I felt like I walked into a room full of germs. Skip this location if you can and just go to the nice, clean, BIG one in Costa Mesa on Baker near the Stater Bros. You WON'T regret it. One of the best locations I have been to. Made an appointment for a Tuesday morning and walked into a room full of people. Signed in and saw that most people there were walk-ins without appointments. Counter nurse was very friendly. I waited about 5 min after signing in to get called up to get processed for the blood drawing (they took my doctor's orders and to get a copy of my instance card). Then maybe another 5 min later, I was called into the room and was met by the nicest nurse. She administered the needle painlessly and we had a great conversation. I really don't like small talk, but this wasn't that at all, and I really enjoyed chatting with her. I love this place and the ladies that work there. I walked in at 11:15 to a packed waiting room and was on my way back to work by 11:35. Twenty minutes to process my paperwork, draw blood and send me on my way. In that entire 20 minutes they actually worked so hard the waiting room was practically empty when I left! I don't have health insurance so they charged me full retail @ $421.52 twice for 2 separate doctors orders for a blood work instead of giving me a discount since I'm a self-pay cash patient. Shame on Quest for gouging the patients without insurance. I'll go to LabCorp from now on. read more

You definitely want to schedule your appointment. I was lucky to get an appointment 15 minutes after they opened (8:00am) and the waiting room was full of walk-ins already. I was seen pretty quickly so I can't complain. In and out, luckily I didn't have the same experience everyone else had on here. 1. There was no receptionist on duty so it was completely unmanned and chaotic; 2. The waiting room was overcrowded and sketchy; 3. I had an appointment for 9:30 and wasn't seen until close to 10. They saw several walk-ins before they even got to me; 4. The phlebotomist who took my blood did something incorrectly because the needle in my arm was so painful she had to stop and try again on the other arm (*note, I have NEVER had a blood sampling taken that hurt while they were drawing it); 5. There were SO many urine samples that had not been collected so the bathroom had an overflow of samples sitting both in the cubby where they go as well as in a plastic bin sitting in the restroom. DISGUSTING! This is by far THE WORST experience I have ever had while getting lab testing. read more

My doctor sent me with an urgent request only to be turned away because I didn't have an appointment when their website says you can do walk ins, the woman at the front desk just rudely tells me that I need an appointment and I can't be seen otherwise, two days later when I'm finally able to get an appointment while I'm waiting to be called back a walk in comes in and is told that it is fine they would just have to wait. This place is a disaster! This is my first 1 star review on Yelp and it goes to Anays M at the front desk of this zoo. I got there at 8:30 AM, She was super rude and told me over an hour wait. I was number 8 in the system. I checked in, my name shortly after came up. This lady called 7 people that were after me without appointments ahead of me after my name was up which almost seemed racist and when finally one of the ladies that were taking blood from the back came up front and I started asking her whats taking so long and they still haven't got my paperwork at almost 10 AM. This Anays character comes from back and tell me after finally looking at my lap requests that they can't help me because my test had to be from 7-9AM. This caused my entire daily schedule to be late and behind. This place gets a 0 star if I could give them and Anays should be the last person in charge of Quest. I have called and filed a complaint with Quest Corp. read more

The address is really 1220 Hemlock Way in a dark gray building. There is parking in the back but there are NO SIGNS or SUITE NUMBERS anywhere so don't bother looking for Ste 101. You cannot access the lab through WIC in the back, you have to enter on street side. There are 2 doors facing the street. One unmarked on the left and one for a pharmacy on the right. The left door obviously leads you into the lobby of multiple suites. Upon entering, it's the first door on the left. The rooms are PACKED with families and kids with dirty walls. The receptionist was decent. Once admitted, you see more dirty walls. My phlebotomist was nice but she was THE WORST at drawing blood. I have routine visits and it never hurts or bothers me but she didn't seem experienced. I will never return to this location. Don't waste your time, go to the clean location on Baker. read more

DIRTY WAITING AREA AND RECEPTIONIST VERY UNPLEASANT TO DEAL WITH!! I happened to come accross this place because I needed to take my senior citizen mother for lab work and I wish I had not taken her there. First of all, the small waiting area was tiny; there was trash and cookie crumbs all over the floor. We didn't have an appointment and so the wait was 45minutes. I asked the receptionist if she could call a custodian to clean up the waiting area (which she could see from her desk was dirty) with an obnoxious attitude she said they would clean it up when they had time! I couldn't believe what she said, that it would be cleaned up latter. I wondered to myself, if the waiting area was dirty I could only imagine how dirty the lab area was as well. Do the techs bother to wash thier hands after going to the bathroom? Do they use dirty needdles? Do they label blood work correctly? How could she be so lax about it?! In the end, my mother and I left and went someplace else for lab work. I hope someone from corporate reads this evaluation and takes measures to correct this Quest location because I have been to many lab locations; I would have to say this is worst one I have ever been to in my life. read more

This is the third time I have been to this location, and this was not the best visit. Last time I was there it was convenient, and I was able to get in and out quick, but I had to wait awhile the first time even though I had an appointment. Today there was nobody at the desk when I arrived for my appointment. I was a couple minutes early, so I signed in and sat down. After twenty minutes I asked the person who had come to the desk and called a few people and she had me go next when she realized I had an appointment. Apparently you need to let them know you have an appointment and not just sign in. I needed to give a urine sample. This was by far the worst part of the visit. I was told to put my sample in the box in the restroom. I thought she meant the secure metal box, but that was locked and instead there was a plastic bin that had spilled urine in it. It was entirely out in the open on a stand/shelf in the bathroom. I left it there and told the staff that I wasn't comfortable leaving my specimen out in the open. They were saying it was okay, but I persisted. Then someone went in to use the restroom. After they came out, the phlebotomist that was helping me retrieved it. Besides the urine collection bin, the sink in the bathroom also did not work. So people are leaving specimens, and then they are not washing their hands before they leave the restroom. There was a box of soap wipes, so I used one. I also had my blood drawn. Ten hours later and my arm is sore and it is starting to bruise. I never get sore after having blood drawn. I don't know if there is any issue or not. read more
