Schedule appointment, show up and wait forever because they set 4 patients per time slot, and time slots are 10minutes apart, but only have 2 employees working. It's not even possible to get a patient from lobby, bring them back, confirm paperwork and take blood draws in less than 5 minutes so it's impossible to get seen at your appointment time. read more

This is the most convenient location for me so I have to drive through the construction zone that is Sheldon road. I've only ever walked in for appointments since they are always booked up online. The electronic check in process takes just a couple of minutes and is user friendly. I've never had to wait too long to be called in. The phlebotomists I've seen were very friendly and professional. I felt in good hands. Clean facility with dozens of rooms and multiple testing appointments. The results tend to take 24-48 hours. If you need lab tests I would recommend this Quest location. Hopefully Sheldon Road will be finished soon. read more

I have been a Quest diagnostics patient for decades. On my last visit I was embarrassed and disrespected in front of a room full of people at the Sheldon location. On 10/28/2022, I arrived at the Quest Diagnostics located at 11611 Sheldon Rd Tampa FL 33626, as a walk-in patient for my annual checks. I checked in, verified that my name was on the monitor and took a seat. Around 45 minutes later I went to the monitor to verify my place in line and my name was no longer there. I politely asked the front desk employee if my name had been called and I missed it. She asked if I had an appointment and I answer that I didn't, that I walked in when the doors opened at 0630am and checked in as a walk in. She replied that there were no walk ins today. That caught me by surprise since I was aware that other walk-in patients had been seen before me. I explained that to her and she went inside to get a nurse. Within a minute a nurse came out to the lobby yelling at me "there are no more walk ins, we don't have the personnel". I asked her "why are you yelling at me"? She then became angry and started speaking to me in Spanish, "You don't understand? There are no more appointments!" I then asked her, "why are you yelling at me in Spanish? "She replied, "because you look Hispanic, and I speak Spanish". At no point during the conversation, I spoke Spanish to anyone in the center. I replied that "those comments were racist and very unprofessional". I felt extremely embarrassed. At that moment I decided to avoid her confrontational attitude before it escalated. Before leaving I asked the front desk employee for the name of the nurse that yelled at me. She refused to provide me with her name in what I believe an attempt to cover her behavior and prevent me from bring it to light. I am a patient, not a criminal or a child. The way she treated me was very unprofessional and offensive, I was not treated with respect or dignity during that encounter. I can't imagine how she would treat other people during the day. I am asking corporate to investigate this issue, there were witnesses that felt very uncomfortable. read more

Although the wait time wasn't bad (I made an appointment early in the am) it was not professional. As I was getting my blood drawn the man before me returned with his urine sample. The nurse told him she could place it on the table next to her and she finished with me. Once I was done I went to collect my urine sample and when I returned, the nurse was collecting another blood sample, so I was told to place my sample next to the one the gentleman left behind! Mind you neither one was labeled! I had paper towel wrapped around my sample so she could tell the difference. I use to work as a phlebotomist and once I finished with one collection I would make sure everything was away and ready for the next patient. Rude rude rude.... came on March 30, 2021 around 930am. Since there was only a paper for checking in, not the electronic one, I approached one of the employees that was sitting in the office next to the entrance to ask her if I needed to do anything else. Went to get my bloodwork down and antibodies testing and Jo and Alli were wonderful. The place was clean and tidy. I was in and out within a reasonable time frame. Over the years, we've finally learned to have our lab tests done in mid-morning or mid-afternoon so we miss the crowd. We did so at this location, and were checked in, processed, did our blood tests and were outta there within 20 minutes! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!! I got there promptly at 6:30 (when it opens) and there was already a long line. I needed to get bloodwork done because I've been having issues with dizziness, and my mother needed some tests for a doctors appointment. We expected a long wait with everything going on so we got in line, but we were waiting there for 30 minutes with no movement whatsoever, until a woman came out and said that "no one else showed up for work so we have to wait". I'm sorry but this is a professional place and the workers DONT SHOW UP TO WORK??? A medical place like this needs to be staffed, especially in times like these, and I'm extremely disappointed that this did not happen. A while later, 2 workers showed up and went inside, while we got no update whatsoever. 20 more minutes pass and that same lady came out again to tell us that "they're not doing walk ins" mind you she wasn't even projecting her voice to us so the people in the back of the very LONG line could not hear. We literally could not hear her at all, it's like she didn't care, she was talking in this annoyingly soft voice as if we would all magically hear her. My mother and i were furious, if you weren't going to take walk ins then why didn't they tell us that in the first place?? I am so upset by this measly supposedly "professional" place. I went to this location, and there was no hand sanitizer near the shared touch screen check-in. I tried both wall units, and those were both empty as well. When I asked a tech for hand sanitizer, she checked her pocket and said she must have forgotten her personal bottle of hand sanitizer. She then asked a neighboring tech, who said she didn't have any hand sanitizer at all. This leaves me to conclude that these techs will not have access to hand sanitizer for the entire day, with patients coming in and out. This not only puts Quest employees and their families and risk, it puts my family and me at risk. I am going to Quest for a medical condition that causes me to have a compromised immune system. Like other patients, if I am exposed to Covid-19, I am likely to have a very bad experience. This is irresponsible and inexcusable from a so-called medical provider. The first time I came to this location the manager was screaming at the phlebotomist. Then she happened to be the one that was drawing my blood. I was very nervous considering I hate getting my blood drawn. I understand everyone hs As a job However she was irritated so I tried to make conversation. Poor girls seems like she's getting bullied at work anyhow by the time my 9 biles were drawn she was in good vibes. I will say she kept it professional & did Not bruise me even though she was under a lot of pressure. Now today was my second visit . The lady at first seemed cold but I like to lighten the mood and by end of it she was smiling ! Hallelujah I got a few smiles out of these women I only waited 10 min today to be seen which isn't bad in my opinion. Also she did not bruise me either. The environment is fairly clean & this time very professional. Let me cut the chase and hit up the POINT straight away. My experience here was pretty much PAINLESS. I cannot express how impressed I am with this facility. Our employer requested particular testing to be done outside of our own clinic. So, using the website on the script we tried to look up appointments, but none worked with our work schedule. So, today at lunch, my coworker and I drove over and arrived at 12pm. The place was empty except for a mom and daughter. Right away, we checked in electronically by just first/last name and DOB. Within 3 minutes, we were ushered back. My coworker went first with her blood draw. She said it was a small pinch and exchanging tubes were a little painful, but the phlebotomist was great! Next I was up. I hate needles with a passion even though it's part of my job. I warned the girl I'm a chicken when it comes to blood draws and prone to fainting. Already from the experience with my coworker, I was mostly at ease. The girl was extremely understanding and kept conversation. We went into another room and had me lay down. There was a pinch when inserting the needle on my arm, but changing the tubes I barely felt a thing. I was done less than 2 minutes (which I appreciated). I wish I knew the girls name because she was so awesome! She was pretty and young with gorgeous red hair. Tip: we got lucky by doing a walkin and it wasn't busy. I get blood work done from Quest every month. I always walk-in because my health is so bad that I never know when I'll be well enough to go. I've never had a problem, ever, until today. Joann told me that quest doesn't allow walk ins. Which is a complete lie. Today is 1-19-22. This is unacceptable. I will use a different service from now on. I had previously been to the Quest Diagnostics location on Martin Luther King and had a pleasant experience with quick service. I needed bloodwork done quickly and this location offered the soonest available appointment. Based on my prior experience at the other Quest location I figured that this would go smoothly... not the case. They told me that they could not perform almost half of the bloodwork that was ordered because they did not have the correct codes (I went to a BayCare location later that week and had absolutely no issues). The staff member that attended me was unprofessional and went so far as to talk bad about me, within earshot, while consulting with their boss.
