These are made fresh so it does take some time - the fact that only one person was working the window also probably contributed to the wait time. definitely tasty like a flat churro or maybe even would compare it to a soft and chewy banuelo. If I ever visit again, will have to try one of the savory menu items! It's located in the little village in Mont tremblant - more up on the hill. I had to tray the famous beaver tails whole in the area. They were amazing. The first day I tried the pistachio one which was soo delicious I had tk go back again the next day. The next day I got the classic it was good too but I preferred the pistachio. Can't wait to go back as I have my eye on the maple one next. Only gripe is I wish they could do split flavors like half and half which they said they couldn't. read more

Beaver tails remind me of the Rideau Canal and winter snowy activities! Such great child hood memories with these delicious little fried desserts! I wasn't expecting to stop here I just saw the sign and asked "You want a beaver tail ?" And the response I got was "a what?" That's when I knew to jump in line and start explains what it was. I decided to get the original one which is the sunrise (cinnamon, lemon) & the apple one. They are made So quickly they just drop it in and within a few seconds it's already in the famous red paper with a bunch of napkins. The original was fantastic and the apple wasn't the best as it tasted like the McDonald's apple pie filling. They had so many flavours that I don't remember seeing as a kid or maybe my mom just chose the least messiest for us as kids. It was a great last minute decision to stop off here. read more

Unpopular opinion... beavertails are donuts, and not necessarily really good ones. Now before everyone gets up in arms, please note that I tried two different kinds (nutella and classic) before making my final judgment on these. I don't not like them, I just don't think there's anything particularly amazing about them. Though they're still good - fried dough covered in sugar is never a bad thing. There are two beaver tail locations in the village and both are packed! The lines are crazy long and they are seriously understaffed. You end up waiting way too long and the quality of the food suffers because of this. It's still good but I don't see why you would pay extra village tax on a franchise that exists all over Montreal and is not exclusively a Mont Tremblant thing. read more

It says something about how woeful Mont Tremblant food options are when the best thing you eat is from a tiny fast food stall that focuses on selling one thing. But when that one thing is a deliciously scrumptious beavertail (essentially a thin doughy pastry in the shape of a long pizza), perhaps all things aren't too bad in the world. I ordered one, loved it so much I ordered another, and loved that so much I ordered a third. All while standing up outside in the snow. Per the server's recommendations, I went with the simpler flavor options (such as cinnamon, or sugar, or nutella) as opposed to fancier options (which I thought might distract from the pastry dough itself). Everything I ate was a winner, and I would 100% go back here (perhaps even every day) on a future trip to Mont Tremblant. read more

If I could eat a beavertail everyday without clogging my arteries, I would. This is basically the Canadian version of fried dough. Queues de Castor offers many topping options and every beavertail is made to order, so it's super fresh and definitely worth the wait! My favorite was the nutella and banana combo. You could also get a plain one too with just a dusting of sugar (ugh my mouth is watering as I write this review). Make sure you eat it right away or else it won't be as crispy and warm! The place is small and there aren't any seats, however; the view of the town is gorgeous from their little stoop area - great for a foodie photo op (with your beavertail of course). I'm not sure why this hasn't made it big yet in the US, but it's likely better than most desserts on earth. I've had Beavertails before, but for some reason, this time I connected with my Beavertail. Maybe because it was late, hungry, and at a resort? I tried the banana nutella Beavertail. It was good. Real good. Then I tried the Avalanche with Skor, caramel, and cheesecake frosting. Orgasmic. I seriously continued to roll my eyes back into my head until this entire beavertail was done. It's very very sweet, but for some reason, that creaminess and the gentle crunch of the fried dough allowed me to power through. Lastly, I washed down the sugary goodness with hot cocoa and marshmallows. Don't think about the calories. Just do it. read more

Solid MEH for me. It's difficult to enjoy a beaver tail nowadays when you got to enjoy them in their original form many years ago. Today you get to eat a junior sized version of the original with a "hazelnut" spread that isn't nutella. It's fine for what it is but honestly.... quite forgettable... If you're a tourist in Tremblant (very likely), do try it out but I recommend when you get home to find an online recipe and try it yourself. It's the cat's meow. But all in all this is a nice location if you're looking for a sweet treat. They also offer fast food fare too in case you're looking for a quick meal instead. From their Chocolat Et Banane (Chocolate + Banana) beavertail to their Pomme Et Cannelle (Apple Cinnamon) beavertail, you literally can't go wrong with any of them. Those two are probably my personal favorites, but I will eat and devour each and every beavertail on the menu. My only complaint? I've frequented this locale for years and years now and nothing killed me more than when I found out that they no longer serve their savory Beavertails. That is my TOP choice of this super delicious, crisp yet fluffy treat. I can eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner as long as I dont mind ingesting 1000 calories for each meal. But man, it's soo worth it. Be ready for a big tasty mess on your hands. Be sure your hands are clean and all clothes are tucked in otherwise you will literally be wearing the chocolate sauce. Mont Tremblant played an enormous role in my childhood and the Beaver Tails from Queues de Castor are iconic bits of gooey heaven that will forever take me back to my younger years. My boyfriend and I came up here for a weekend this winter looking to do some skiing/snowboarding, some eating, a bit of drinking, and maybe some shopping if the mood struck. He knew I had my eyes set on the Beaver Tails the second we booked our AirBnB about 2 months ahead of time (if you're looking for a great place to stay with a significant other, DM me and I'll recommend an awesome spot right on the mountain that was incredibly cheap). Of all the magical enchantment this quaint fairy-tale winter wonderland has to offer, I insisted that we make a bee-line to the Beaver Tails. Obviously we started out with chocolate planning to try some of the other flavors depending how the weekend went and where our adventures took us. He trusts my taste in food and knew to expect something great, but I think this exceeded his expectations. He insisted we come back the next day for a cinnamon sugar. Beavertails are a must visiting Mt. Tremblant! Sometimes they don't look that great but they sure as hell taste great! Fried dough schmeared with Nutella and bananas are a tasty treat after a long day on the mountain. It's pricey but you're on vacation so treat yo self. read more

It's a long piece of fried dough topped with traditionally cinnamon and sugar, but you can switch up the toppings (Nutella, apple cinnamon, maple frosting, Nutella & bananas, etc.). BEAVER TAILS! Only reason is the beaver tails - they're awesome. I got the PB beaver tail with a burger and while the burger was filling, you're not going to get the typical burger with all the trimmings. Ground beef and fries come with the burger, and you can add some condiments on your own. Definitely give the beaver tails a try, worth consideration.
