I filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Reapair (BAR). The owner and mechanic of Quick Smog asked me to come outside after completing the smog test. He stated that my car passed smog, but that he failed it because 'pcv hose modified'. They charged me $31.75. He explained that I had a non-after market hose on my heater valve. He told me I needed to go to Ford or Mazda, have them replace it, then bring it back another time and he would charge me again for the certificate and the re-smog only $18.95. I asked if the car passed and he said yes, but not visually and gave me the paperwork. I went to a different place in town and passed no problems. read more

I had my vehicle smogged here yesterday and it was speedy, thorough, and professional job. I made no appointment and still the service was incredibly prompt and friendly. I enjoyed the facilities as well (which are sparse, but that allows you to spend your short visit imagining the early history of Yuba City in this vintage building) which had seating, water, and reading material. You can stop searching, this is the one! It's the least expensive ($38 for my '98 Mustang), super quick (10 - 15 mins), friendly and courteous service, clean, air conditioned waiting room with plenty of chairs, magazines, and even cold water. You can make an appt or walk in. PLUS the owner/operator is HONEST! My car was having trouble passing due to changing the battery the previous day. He figured out the cause, and ended the test, instead of completing it and having my car fail. He told me what I needed to do, I brought it back later that day, and it passed. He could have easily gotten me to pay twice. I can't help but wonder how many other places would have just let my car fail and then tell me how to fix it. I'm a customer for life! read more

Don't go here! bad business! Took my suv to get smog and guy failed it tried to tell me my cat converter was tampered with. I literally just bought my suv 1 1/2 years ago from a very reputable dealership in Sacramento. Told me that I was suppose to have 4 cats and currently I only had three told me to go to Toyota dealership and get it fixed. Called dealership they told me he had no clue what he was talking about. Called the dealership I bought it from they said the same thing and that they had it smoged right before I bought it and has the proof it passed with no problems. So, I figured I'd go back explain that to the guy.....without even a pause he told me "ok you gonna have to deal with the state air quality control"! Not "ok sir let me take another look, maybe I was wrong" not " I'm sorry". Nothing took my money and screwed me! Now I have penalty fees from DMV now I'm out $40. Will never go there again!
