It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

I found out they are a "State Minimum" store so they sell at the least amount the state of Michigan will allow. This is excellent when you are trying to find rare bottles of bourbon like I am usually looking for. Staff is super nice when I go in. They are locally owned and I love supporting local businesses.

(There are tarps, but water still got under some.) We found a dry bundle, and paid via the honor box. Dogs are not allowed inside, but there are several trees with "dog parks," (spots to hook up your dog,) while you go inside. Each is on grass, and spaced out so that dog can not reach each other.

Located in the former beloved Russo's space, the owners of Mega-Bev kept some of the gourmet grocery items and deli space in their new store. It's pretty genius to me - you can get everything you need for your party or picnic here. They have a ton of variety and I was overwhelmed looking at everything. We ended up getting a mixed 6 pack of some interesting drinks I've never seen before, which is always fun. You get a discount for making a 6 pack! The person who rang up our purchases was super friendly and let us know about some interesting new products. I don't make it to this part of town that often, but it's definitely a great spot if you need some booze!
