This place is going down hill. Not sure why but they decided to only make prepackaged sandwiches on Thursdays and only appear to like to make one kind. Very disappointing and the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed that I was asking to order a sandwich. If only I could give 0 stars. One of the worst places I have been too. The workers there literally can not be bothered to help you. Very seriously acted like we were an inconvenience coming in during their business hrs. When I asked questions the answer was " I don't know ", no offer to sample ( I was worried I wouldn't like the potato salad). One person just stood there not doing anything. Great little store to pick up anything you may have forgotten to bring with you. From booze to bandaids they have it. Excellent sandwiches. They have a couple small tables outside if you want to eat there but you should really walk down to the lake and enjoy your sandwich on the lovely beach. read more

If one can get past the horrible odor of the cleaning supplies, this is a great little deli. All the sandwiches are named after resorts past and present. Meat and cheese are both freshly sliced and the sides are tasty - possibly homemade. Delicious potato salad and pasta salad and slaw. Home baked cookies, brownies, and hard scoop ice cream. Big drink selection. Browse the grocery aisle while you wait for your sandwich. The prices are reasonable. Service is friendly. The owner Jamie is so rude. I've come in multiple times and she never greets you. She needs a serious attitude adjustment which others have mentioned. I've come in numerous times to spend money and she's so unwelcoming. Everyone in town has the same thing to say about her which is embarrassing. You'd think as a woman business owner in the community she would want her store to thrive. You'd think with The Depot down the road she would want to make money but no.. The Depot doesn't upcharge almost $5 for certain things especially since it's a 30 second drive down the road. The employees are nice but Jamie is just destroying her "business" It always stinks inside. Probably why there's always a strong nauseating bleach/cleaning smell like others have mentioned. I can't imagine the deli meat is held at a safe temperature. I used to send my friends to get sandwiches from here and they have gotten sick and they said it is gross and too expensive. Do yourself a favor and go less than a mile down the road to The Depot and get quality food and drinks for a significantly less price! read more

I used to come here growing up in the summers, it was always a staple. I was in the area with my husband and we stopped in, he had stopped in once before without me. The woman, I don't know if she is the owner now or what but she was very unpleasant to put it nicely. She was short with us and had a very rude tone, and no eye contact. I was so close to just saying forget it and walking out as she was making my sandwich. My husband asked if they had coffee and she just slowly turned her head to the side and said " nope". My husband said she was rude to him the previous time he was in as well. Very disappointing. Hopefully she will see this and work on changing her attitude in the workplace. read more

Small sandwich shop with wine and ice cream and grocery items. Staffed by young people who are nice to deal with and hard workers. We shared a Steuben with pastrami and cold slaw. The pastrami will not pass muster with real deli folks but after travel it was welcomed nourishment. We took home a cold bottle of wine that reminded my husband of sharing a carafe on The Left Bank in Paris. It was served with a side of salad; we chose three bean. We stopped in yesterday after just arriving to South Haven. It was a quick walk from where we are staying. They had all the essentials we needed to make night one work for us (White Claw, and Beer) and the kids (snacks, drinks, bread). We grabbed some AMAZING made to order sandwiches from the deli, and will definitely return for ice cream. Such a charming little shop, every town should have a place like this. read more

North Side Memories looked like a gas station - without the gas. They had a small deli with sandwiches and salads made to order, a hodgepodge of snacks, and alcohol. It wasn't a place to stop if you wanted a great meal, but maybe for park or campground snacks. There was no staff in the shop when I stopped in - not sure where they were! read more

Whenever we're in South Haven for some beach time, we walk to North Side Memories to get the essentials - booze and ice cream, of course. It's an old timey liquor/convenience store that doesn't look like it's been updated since they opened a long while ago, but they are conveniently located one block from the beach. They have Sherman's Ice Cream, cold beer, wine, liquor, candy, and a small selection of fireworks for the 4th of July. They also make sandwiches and cater but I've never eaten food there. The high school girls who work there aren't the friendliest, but as long as I have a heaping cup of chocolate chip cookie dough, I'm happy. read more

This is the kind of charming, independent neighborhood shop every town used to have but doesn't anymore. They are open long hours and carry essentials for a weekend stay,beach supplies,alcohol, and Sherman's ice cream ;plus they cater,so you can have a sandwich made to order or feed your family for a very reasonable price.
