This is a very convenient location for where I work. The customer service here in my experience is very good. The cashiers are pleasant and helpful and always seem genuine. It's conveniently located and always busy which is a good sign. In my experience the soups and salads are very good. Always convenient for a quick dinner. The sandwiches can be hit or miss but also convenient. The coffee and tea station is a favorite of mine (keeps me warm and awake). The baked goods made on site are an occasional bad habit treat. They also have the usual waters, sodas, candy and snacks that are the usual at convenience stores. This location also has gas pumps. They also provide bathroom facilities which attracts your usual slobs (feel bad for the employees that have to clean up after them) but they try. Overall I'm glad the location is there and visit it almost every day. read more

I haven't been to this location to order a sandwich since I found numerous cockroaches actually packaged into the muffins one morning several years ago. Early yesterday morning I very stupidly purchased a Champ Sandwich at the 53rd Street Bayonne, NJ location. It was missing the roast beef, coleslaw, cheese and the center slice of bread. These items were selected on the automated order system so the person making the sandwich had the ability to read what needed to be put into the sandwich. I asked for it to be toasted but it wasn't. I suspect it was very slightly microwaved instead. If a Quick Check location doesn't have certain components that make up a sandwich the store MUST go back to posting what ingredients are not available so customers can make an intelligent decision on what alternative menu items are available to select. I can sort of understand items being not available but how can something like roast beef which is the main component of the sandwich and the third slice of bread be missing from the sandwich? I didn't notice that these items were missing because I took the sandwich home to eat. Obviously I'm not going to turn around and go back and have them make another sandwich! I contacted Quick Check via Facebook messenger and was given the usual BS response that they're going to bring this matter up to management. Yeah right sure whatever......Every time there's an issue with one of their locations they say the same thing but yet for some reason there's no change. From now on if I ever have the displeasure of going back here I'm only going to get ONLY pre - packaged food items so I can very closely examine them to see what they contain. You can't rely on the ordering system at the counter because they obviously have no idea what they're doing. Don't know what went wrong here.......maybe they can't read the instructions on how to make the sandwiches? Maybe they never were properly trained in the first place? Or maybe the management just thought they're going to be slick and hand out a sandwich that has half the ingredients missing which you paid for. You know what, I don't know what the issue is and I don't really care. I just want what I paid for. At a certain point when you're not getting what you're paying for it becomes theft. This same nonsense happens at other locations too but it's usually in a situation where the sandwich maker was very busy and inadvertently forgot what needed to be included in the sandwich. I understand that you can be in a stressful situation forced to make numerous sandwiches in a short period of time. I was the only one there after a few young people left so, the clerk was not under any stress to make it exceptionally quickly. It will be interesting to see if they are actually going to do anything about making sandwiches that are missing key components but I'll never really know for sure because I'm not going to be ordering anything from the sandwich counter ever again at this location. Noone is rude here, in fact they are quite friendly but obviously the location has problems. The problems extend beyond the counter that makes the sandwiches. I have considered using the shake maker machine but...... the little refrigerator where the shake cups are located where extremely dirty and the counter above where you mix the shakes was even dirtier. There's a shopping center across the street that contains a Taco Bell, a Dunkin' Donuts, a Burger King and a Wendy's and there's a diner across the street on Broadway so nobody HAS to eat at this location. If less people eat there they'll get the hint that there's something wrong. Furthermore the town has two other Quick Check locations that are somewhat better. read more

I loved quick check before, but I stopped going there. Lately, this place is going down hill. I asked an employee for the coffee that was just made, (i wanted HOT coffee.) She said she was busy making sandwiches and to wait a second. After waiting a while, I asked her again, she said "give me a second." There were two employees, there was no reason to make a customer wait. Another day, I was placing my order and the girl told me i had to wait Twenty minutes for a sandwich. Staff is not as pleasant as the employees at the other Quick check on 22nd St. Also, the place is DIRTY!! Coffee, sugar all over the counter, soup station filthy and garbage all over the floor. I went in after work in uniform before starting a second shift and ordered an Italian sandwich/hero with mayo to go. I had to manually enter what I wanted and was the only person ordering at the moment. Later when I opened my sandwich it looked like someone dumped a pepper shaker onto it and it had a ton of mustard loaded on as well. Totally uneatable. I later heard from a fellow officer that you shouldn't go on wearing a uniform because they'll mess up your order on purpose. Avoid this hellhole! read more

The best thing about this quick chek is the location. Being right by the NJ Turnpike entrance, it is very convenient. I usually get my gas here, as there are plenty of pumps, and it is on my commute to work. I also like the free air machines quick chek offers. That's an A+. As for the food, we all know quick chek is good when you want something fast. I feel like I tend to get something here early in the morning or late at night. The coffee here is pretty good as well. Both the hot and iced are nice choices. The grab and go section, containing breakfast sandwiches, is also convenient. If your looking for a deli sandwich, for like a road trip snack, QC will do. I wouldn't substitute the sandwich for a dinner meal, but for something quick, it gets the job done. Probably the coffee is one of there better items. I like to come in the morning for the coffee, at least once a week. I never had any problems here, and think QC is a great spot to stop by, for some gas, coffee, snacks, or any quick food items, to satisfy your hunger. Again, it is not to be compared to a full restaurant, as they are on different levels, but for what it offers, it's a good spot. read more

Horrible customer service- horrible stock ratio. Went in tonight because I work overnight- nothing indicating the deli was closed " sign,Note etc" I went to use the Kiosk- the employee working the deli was curled up in a corner behind the deli , on her phone and informed me " the Deli's closed"... when i checked out with other Items and asked the Manager he had no idea what I was talking about- then turned and said " her shift is over so yes its closed" when I've been to here before at this hour and it was not-I believe it was just laziness from both. I came here since I had a gift card and who doesn't love free gasoline :) I liked that there were plenty of gas pumps so you don't need to wait. I went inside to get some snacks and was impressed by how many items you can get here from fresh sandwiches, soups, fruit and even bagels. Everything looked fresh and they even have my favorite milkshake machine. I was so excited and even though I had just had lunch I had to get my favorite cookies and cream shake. They have two bathrooms inside (men & women) and they were pretty clean even for gas station standards. read more

I was going to update my previous review to 2 stars because the past 2 times I went there the French Vanilla machine was working. However, I just got to work with my honey biscuit sandwich and found yet another simple task that the staff couldn't be bothered with. They didn't check the box on the wrapper that tells you what sandwich it is. (Bacon, sausage or just egg) Not one of them was checked. I looked at all of them under the heat lamp. I got to work and see that I am having sausage, egg and cheese today. I guess it's good that I'm not picky about bacon or sausage or just egg. So friggin simple. They don't care. The people making sandwiches don't seem to care. Maybe they are making a little game out of breakfast. Sort of like spinning a wheel to see what I'll get that day. Whenever I am in the area of Bayonne, I have a habit of stopping here before getting on the Turnpike to head home to Jersey City. It has a gas station, prices are somewhat reasonable. They have a pretty large selection of hot coffee, iced coffee. The subs are hand made and reasonable priced. It is always well stocked with snacks, sodas and common grocery items that you may want. People often say, "you get what you pay for" so for a 49cent slushie refill at Quick Check, you get exactly what you pay for, the cleanliness is disgusting. My husband wanted to buy two cups for $4.99 each but when we walked towards the slushie machine, there were bugs crawling around. I managed to capture a picture. This is disgusting and gives me second thoughts about returning. I ended up going to 7-11 which was clean! If I can count correctly and I just might because I'm Asian, this "Chek" makes 3 for the lovely municipality that is Bayonne. This one takes the Chekkin' cake though. Located right off of the 8th Wonder of the World, the NJ Turnpike (14A, just hang a right after exiting), this large Chek is clean, serves gas, has plenty of parking, indoor seating and a "green" bathroom that teaches you how to flush to save water --- up for pees and down for GEEZ! My only gripe with this place is that of the two times I've ordered from their automated system, I've had issues. First, I ordered a whole wheat wrap and they gave it to me with a sun dried tomato wrap instead. They ran out of lettuce the second time. For both orders, I was standing there the whole time and they finished making both and THEN told me about the changes they made. I would've appreciated them telling me beforehand. Not wanting to be a bother or wait longer, I just took it as it was. Issues be damned, this is still the only Chek, you'll find me at because Jersey City doesn't have one and the lights in this one are just too mesmerizing. read more

The better of the Quick Cheks in Bayonne. Clean, large and generally a nice staff though sometimes they bicker with each other In front of customers making it a little uncomfortable. Love the fact that they have a large variety of soups and an area to sit and eat. One of the women behind the counter made my salad once without gloves - which I didn't eat obviously. Take my advice and watch them when they make your food just to make sure they wear gloves. read more

Almost every time I travel on the Turnpike via Bayonne, I make a stop at Quick Chek. Gas is as fairly priced as you can reasonably expect in New Jersey, but the store is the real highlight here. The market is new and well-kept. The staff is friendly. You can't beat the price of their sandwiches. 3 bucks for a customized signature sub is something I definitely take advantage of, often. Coffee and hot chocolate bad aren't bad either. I definitely recommend this place if you're about to go on a road trip and need to stock up on food and snacks. read more

I no longer go to this location.. and I have no reason to exaggerate, or make this up. THIS review was brought on by a consistent stream of bad experiences over a year or so, as I go in here "6 to 10 times a year." And now I must speak. They forced my hand. This last time did it, and I have a spare couple of minutes. But, again: I have no reason to lie. I will tell you like it is. So here we go.. I see a few 3-star reviews. I feel that's a bit nice on the part of the reviewers, honestly. Not giving a 1-star because you "can" buy gas here.. again, about 4 blocks away up the street and Avenue C or 6 blocks away on Broadway and, again, cheaper. But everyone from New York will call this gas "cheap" and that is a saving grace for this spot.. creates some crazy traffic as we have pump traffic mixed with parking for the store. And about that store.. A couple of gripes, I will word it well so I don't come off as a reviewer that people will then label a "ridiculous person." A "ridiculous person" is someone that wants 20 sugars in their Medium coffee, or 12 in a small (which is almost half the cup) and then expects to be handed about 10 more "Extra" sugars.. or puts in 12 or 15 more, and pockets 20, over a medium.. coffee.. for free.. yeah.. Alright, onto this store: 1. The store LACKS ANY SENSE OF URGENCY. The cashier can be overwhelmed, I truly get that. But there is only one up there, when two or three other employees are standing or stocking. Not putting the customer first.. and I notice the manager always has this "annoyed" or "worried" look on her face - whoever is in sandwiches. It is off-putting, as I browse their selection. I look at the line and I sigh, as there is only one or sometimes NOBODY up there. And they have at least two registers, maybe 3.. So, that is a complaint of mine. The absolute LONGEST wait time of a store. (The Rite Aid is not much better with this, I will admit.) But every other store is better, sometimes by a lot as in instant in and out at Mack's, or close to it (Walgreens, and the OTHER Quick-Check in Bayonne.) And if you stop in kinda close to work, maybe you work two jobs.. this can be a very big factor. I hope I worded that well. 2. The PRICES. Take note.. 24-hour stores are VERY high, compared to Walmart. Not sure Target, but. They call it a "convenience" store for a reason. Anything "2 for $6" is probably $1.99 for one at Walmart, etc. So take note the business model. Not complaining about this when those midnight munchies or snack attack come on, but.. I can also walk to the OTHER Quick-Chek. And I'll tell you why... 3. They are DISORGANIZED. (I will use this instead of RUDE.) Again.. In the ABSENCE of a clearly-defined line, I was actually lectured about "I was not on line. " However, the formation of customers absolutely told me there WERE two lines.. God forbid there be any communication. I also noticed the cashier give a nervous glance at the customer she felt was "supposed" to be served. It was subtle, but I saw. And this will make me seriously debate to come back. Even if it is to the OTHER Quick-Check. THEY have a DEFINED line, and would NEVER try to defend such incompetence in such a way. I was in a rush so I didn't care.. but the point is I did not do anything wrong, and when you have to defend yourself in a store, it leaves an inpression. So, again.. "Rude." And, I mis-spelled a word.. I don't care, I am multitasking. Good point about the poster that noticed a dirty store. And what are these games they play with the energy drinks? I noticed ALL Quick-Cheks do this. Weird. Go to the one on 37th St, or 7-11.. You won't have this nonsense. This store is too large and only like 4 people work there.. Hire somebody = lost on them. But the kids as cashiers (they are very young) do a pretty good job.. "I think." I really feel that it could be done better. And this coming from a cashier, and customer service pro. You SERVE THE CUSTOMER IN FRONT OF YOU. Sheesh. I hope they can deal with the people that are the "get-overs" and want half a cup of sugar on a large coffee............................ I used to work at a coffee shop, and, eventually, I just couldn't deal. Some people really think they are more special than others. In any case.. 37th st Quick Chek (on Broadway,) or a competitor. This store is marginal at best and I still need to decide if I will return, it is about 4 blocks closer to me, but the experience either leaves me outright mad, or something to be desired. Facial expressions and attitude.. are just shy of horrible here, and I am trying to be polite so Yelp - and the store, I believe they read - don't decide that I am a "not credible reviewer." Quick Chek has been my go to spot for sandwiches, coffee, cigarettes, and gas for years ,late-night or otherwise. Last night I stopped at the Bayonne-Crossings location on my way home from work for some snacks, cigarettes, coffee and a sandwich. After quickly spending a $100 I then proceeded to wait on line for about 20mins before i had the opportunity to watch as they mess up my order and tried to hand my sandwich to me. So after another 10-12 mins of watching other people receive there food I finally got my sandwich and was on my way 45 minutes later only to get home and find out that the messed up my order and made my sandwich wrong again. Let's be realistic what to put on the sandwich is rite in front of them as they are making it. Now if something I added or removed is forgotten I could understand but to add things that were not there to begin with or on the printout at all twice back to back is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I have been to many of these convent stores through out the state of Nj. This is by far the WORST customer service I have ever had. Its the blind leading the blind. The register staff is extremely rude they talk down to customers to make you feel stupid if your in the wrong line. The night crew there { in the store} is even worse you wait on line and there phones are more important then serving the customer. A large dark skinned man was talking to his friend and stopped ringing up my purchase for a few seconds so he could entertain his conservative. When I said I have to go he gave me a stare like who am I to interrupt him? They need to have some upper management in that store more often. I will travel else we're from now on. read more

I was in the area for a job. Not a regular there. As I walked into the store I was greeted by i a young lady who smile was just so delightful. As I walk around the store she seem to realized I was a little lost on where things was and how to order a sandwich .she took her time out to make sure everything I wanted I was able to find .she even made me laugh. I came to this Quick check, to order 2 turkey with bacon lettuce Russian dressing wraps. Only to fine when I return to my car that only one has turkey on it. So I went back inside to speak to a manager. I explain to her what was the issue. She went to deli department to have my wrap remade. Now their are to guys working in the back. One has a broom handle in his Gloved hands. He sits the brown up against the counter, then proceed to grab the box of gloves with the dirty gloves. He pulls one glove off then grabs a fresh new glove. He starts to put the fresh glove on his right hand, but still have that dirty glove on his left hand. So I was disgusted and ask for my money back. When u order your food from the kiosk, once you get the receipt you must go to the front and pay for your order. So by the time I returned to get my wraps they were already made. So, there for you can't see the nasty shit that goes on back there.
