My first time at this gym was last weekend and I had never been to this location prior. As soon as…read moreI arrived - although late for the class - staff Jackie & Brielle greeted me with such good energy that I felt more than welcome! After the class, I stayed a while to work out my upper body using a routine from the app, but the first exercise I wasn't sure how to attack & honestly figured I'd just head out because I'm big on form. I went to the front desk and spoke with Jackie, and she was more than willing to help me find the right machine, different modifications to work out what I needed, and the cherry on top was personal trainer Vincent, who assisted me with a quick session on all the questions I had for other parts of my workout. I went from ready to leave, to see you next time! & came back again with my mom today. She agreed they were just as helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Jackie, Brielle & Vince!

That said, there are a few ongoing issues. The biggest one is the temperature--it's consistently hot inside, to the point where it feels like the AC isn't working properly. It makes workouts uncomfortable, especially during busy times. There are also a handful of machines that have been broken and don't seem to get fixed quickly. It's not a huge amount, but enough to be noticeable when you're trying to follow a routine. Another issue is the environment at times. It can feel more like a hangout spot for younger kids (high school/junior high), and I've noticed people smoking in the locker room, which is a concern. I still come here and want to like it, but these are things that could really be improved. If management addressed the AC, stayed on top of equipment maintenance, and enforced gym rules better, it would make a big difference.

Edgar was very friendly and welcoming. I am very much a beginner when it comes to strength training so I appreciate the group settings where I can feel motivated by others around me. The group classes see 8 people maximum which makes it easier to get the attention of the trainer if you have any questions or concerns. They also offer 1:1 personal training and an open gym. You get the group fitness atmosphere and motivation, which I love, but also the attention of personal training because the groups are small, and the coaches are very attentive. The group classes are at most 8 people, so it's never too crowded and there is plenty of equipment to go around. Plus you get inspiration and motivation from the people working out around you. The owner Edgar designs the workout programs to run for 4-6. So you will be doing the same exact exercises each week until the program changes. This gives you the ability to track your progress and make improvements throughout the program. This is very different compared to other group fitness class I've done, which change the workouts each week, and there isn't as much structure or emphasis on tracking your lifts. Funktional fitness is great for anyone wanting to improve their physical fitness. It's great for the beginner and for the advanced lifter. The coaches are very knowledgeable and patient, but they will also challenge you. They have helped me out so much with my form on my lifts and given me cues that have really stuck for me. I've only been working out at Funktional for about 4 months but I've already seen more progress than I have the last year.

I'm giving 24 Hour Fitness Super-Sport a solid 3.3 out of 5, and honestly this review surprised…read moreeven me because the last time I came here years ago(2016) I do NOT remember the same vibe I experienced this morning. I pulled up early enough to accidentally join what I'm now calling the 5 AM club, and wow... those people are not playing around. The level of motivation in that place before sunrise is honestly impressive. Everyone looked locked in like they had something to prove to themselves before the rest of the world even woke up. It actually changed the energy of my own workout in a good way. Normally early gyms can feel half asleep, but this one had people moving with purpose. You could tell these regulars take their workouts seriously, and it made the whole experience feel a lot more intense in a strangely motivating way. The gym itself is pretty big and has a lot of machines, which at first can feel a little intimidating because the layout is kind of... chaotic. It's almost like someone designed the floor plan by saying "just put the equipment wherever it fits." There's a mix of machines scattered around that doesn't always make sense together, so at first it gives a bit of a "we're just making it work" vibe. That said, even with the crowd I was able to move through my workout without waiting too long for anything, which honestly is half the battle at most gyms. It almost feels like a maze the first time you walk through it, though. I was genuinely wandering around for a second trying to figure out where everything was, especially the restrooms which are kind of tucked away off to the side. I eventually found them, but it definitely wasn't obvious at first glance. I believe they also have a pool somewhere in the mix, but between navigating the machine maze and trying to keep up with my workout, I didn't go on a full exploration mission. One thing I will say is the morning front desk staff member was incredibly nice and welcoming, which I really appreciated. As someone who gets a little socially overwhelmed when gyms are packed, that kind of greeting actually makes a difference. The place did feel busier than I expected for that hour though. It's March and somehow it felt like everyone decided their New Year's resolution started yesterday. That said, the energy in the room was undeniable and kind of contagious. There are still a few cleaning and upkeep things that could be improved, which kept this from being a higher rating, but overall this location is probably one of the better 24 Hour Fitness gyms I've been to. It might not be the most relaxing morning workout environment if you're hoping for quiet zen vibes, but if you want motivation, determination, and a room full of people who are clearly serious about getting their workout in before sunrise, this place definitely delivers.

Got a decent amount of squat racks too. I probably would have gotten a pass hear already but the manager here was extremely aggressive about my guest pass because of the influx of guest passes during the holiday season-- it's something you offer, and it should be something you respect. We're all working-class people here but I don't see how a few extra guests during the holidays makes your job all that much harder. If you're encouraged to have a more sales mentality, then act like you want people to sign up. Overall, just a really strange, aggressive and inappropriate interaction since it's literally something that's offered on the website, no matter the circumstance. I get a commercial gym shouldn't be a respectable customer-service institution but the manager's behavior was clownish, and interrogative in a way that was simply lame af. You're a 24 Hour fitness... a commercial gym. Maybe act a little less aggressive about those want to get a workout in during the holidays. Show a little empathy, bro.

Then I found Fitness 19. It's smaller than most gyms, but that works in its favor. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. People actually come here to work out instead of sitting on a machine for 45 minutes scrolling through TikTok and guarding it like it's the Iron Throne. The place is clean, organized, and doesn't smell like a medieval battlefield after three days in the sun. Equipment is where it's supposed to be. Nobody seems determined to create chaos. My only complaint is that it isn't open 24 hours. Sometimes I get the urge to exercise at 2 a.m. after making poor dietary decisions and watching motivational videos that convince me I'm one workout away from becoming Batman. The pricing is reasonable, and they offer additional classes if that's your thing. Personally, I'm just a basic member, and the basic membership has everything I need. No gimmicks, no nonsense, no influencers filming workouts and then asking you to get out of their Oscar Worthy shot. For the first time in a long time,I don't dread going to the gym. I'd been eyeing this gym since March but was too shy and honestly a little nervous to pull the trigger. I'm so glad I finally did. When I say I've tried everything, I mean it: Weight Watchers, Herbalife, body wraps from "It Works," personal trainers (multiple times), 24 Hour Fitness, Gold's, Chuze, Orangetheory... you name it. I was also kickboxing 2-3 hours a day and dancing regularly -- but still wasn't gaining the strength or seeing the results I wanted. For years, people told me I needed to lift heavy weights. But even with gym memberships and trainers, I felt overwhelmed and lost. That changed when I finally booked a meeting with one of the owners, Richard. And let me tell you -- I felt seen. He listened to my goals, understood why my current routine wasn't working (kickboxing, OTF, and Gold's included), and laid out a clear plan tailored to me. My goals: * Build strength * Lift heavy * Prep for two showcases this year * Start training for competition Richard showed me how I was overtraining (too much cardio, not enough rest) and helped me refocus my time and energy. Now I'm working out less, with more intention -- and finally seeing results. So I signed up for the unlimited membership. And here we are -- nearly two months in, and I'm seeing progress I hadn't seen in years. Is it out of my comfort zone? Absolutely. But the community and instructors have made all the difference. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and right up my alley aesthetically. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly Here's a quick shout-out to the amazing instructors I've worked with so far: Art - He will challenge you. He will push you. No BS -- he knows what he's doing. He pays close attention to form and demands the best from you because he wants you to get that pump! His attention to detail and deep knowledge really shine. Richard - Super motivating with a strong presence. He gives great feedback on form and always knows how to push you. Don't be surprised if he adds weight or resistance when you least expect it -- he's not letting you coast. Dulce - I absolutely adore her classes. Her voice, teaching style, and overall vibe are perfect for someone like me -- shy and introverted. She's patient, checks in often, and really makes sure things click if you're struggling. Joseph - Humble, inspirational, and so patient -- even while sneakily adding more weight to push your limits. I really appreciate his calm energy and the way he adapts to different learning styles. Kaitlyn - Mighty and feisty! She's kind before class, but once it starts -- no mercy. She will absolutely make you work, and then some. Mark - Super encouraging and positive. He makes it easy to ask questions -- especially helpful for a newbie like me. He creates a safe space to learn and grow. If you're on the fence about trying this place -- let me just say, if I can do it, so can you. It's worth every drop of sweat. The intimidation fades fast once you meet the staff and community. Truly one of the best decisions I've made for myself.
