Monday August 1st, 2022. Workout 2 of 30. I had the "pleasure" of continuing my "journey" today! Upper body workout, in swamp weather! Stay fit, don't quit!

    5-10 workout ‍ let's do this

First of all sorry for the typos I am voice typing this and I know there's gonna be a lot of errors but I am super exhausted to type, I'm so happy I joined and I saw the transformation even if I didn't win yet. I'm not gonna lie it does take willpower to do this determination and dedication no one said it will be easy but everything is possible. Workouts are not easy at first but after a while She'll start getting easier and I know am getting stronger. the staff is great and all friendly. Thank you for all your support!

This quarantine/pandemic weight got the best of me! I joined the camp in 2016 and since then I knew that whenever I needed a restart I could go back and get myself together again. This 6 week challenge reminded me how much hard work and dedication everyday is necessary to get to your goal. All those open gym workouts plus classes and afternoon runs got me to where I am now. I am in a healthy place and I hope to continue this style on my own for now. When you think you can't, think again! The only person stopping you from your goals is yourself. This is what the challenge is all about. Thank you Camp Anaheim for all the support and amazing trainers that push you every step of the way!

Week 6 weigh-in!!! I did it!! Down 20.5lbs! I'm feeling amazing and can't wait to continue my journey! With hard work, determination, planning, and incredible support from the team at The Camp I am happy to have successfully completed this challenge! 10/10

Participating in The Camp's 6 week 20 lb challenge was this best thing I have done for myself in a VERY long time. From the moment I walked in to The Camp and met the directors and staff, I was already on board. Every trainer I have worked with, brings their best- EVERY TIME! The workouts are ALWAYS fun, motivating, challenging, and are guaranteed to make you come back for more!! It's a no brainer that I became a member at The camp. I am so excited to continue my fitness journey here. I'm not only proud of the weight I lost in this challenge, but the strength, dedication, commitment to myself, and self confidence I gained. Thank you to all the amazing staff at The Camp Anaheim, you have made a huge impact on my life

I cannot express how bless I feel to be a part of the 6 week challenge at The Camp in Anaheim. They give so much encouragement! I have always felt embarrassed when I go to a gym because of my body but not here! I can't tell you what that means to me to work out at a place where I don't feel like people are staring at me or judging me because of my body. I absolutely love the vibe!! The Camp of Anaheim is my new HAPPY PLACE!!

    16 week challenge!

Things you should know about me: I am really stubborn, I like to stick to what I know, and i swear left and right that i know everything sometimes. One of my friends told me about the 16 week challenge here and I was intrigued but I also was like, "well, I've already lost weight before, I'll be fine! I know what I'm doing." I'm on my second week right now and I've already learned some new tools I didn't have before. Everyone here is also really kind and patient, because I think they know you're learning something new and that's not easy. The classes are a little difficult as a beginner, but there's adjustments and I feel like the trainers make it fun. :) the music is fun too! (Actually thats my favorite part - one of the trainers named Jamaal has really good music for his classes) I know I'm just at the beginning but I am happy to have joined this challenge! Thank you to Cassie and to the staff members and trainers here for being so supportive! I, and I'm sure many others, appreciate it so much.

    Erin T.

Completed my first challenge and lost 21.7 pounds! This is the first time I haven't quit a weight loss venture and it's solely because of the motivation I've received from my fellow AFF! The Camp is truly a family. You are given the tools for success and access to the most amazing trainers! Everyone, staff, trainers, members... are all so welcoming and supportive. It's incredible. The workouts are bomb. They really kick your butt into gear and keep you going! If I had to do this by myself, I'd never make it. But that's why I believe, The Camp has so many success stories. The people. I am so ready for my next challenge and I can't wait to finally become a success story!

So far so good, although I feel lost at times. The instructors are very helpful, and the other camp members are very friendly.

Loving the work outs ........ a phrase I never thought I would say lol. The staff & instructors are so encouraging & will to help or answer any questions, even checking in with encouraging text

Full body @ 4pm with Jenny! Let's go!

I just finished my second 6 week 20 pound challenge. There are rules you have to follow to succeed but honestly I believe everything I had to do set me up for success, like working out 30 times out of the 42 days. This helped me so much and kept me accountable. I followed the meal plan and kept a workout regimen. I personally worked out Monday - Friday and the weekends where my rest days. You must weigh in every Monday. All the trainers are extremely helpful, they will correct your form(to prevent injuries & to get the best results) push you and show you modified moves if you can't do a certain exercise. Staff, trainers and other members are friendly and encouraging and everyone starts to become family. The environment is welcoming, fun and high energy. The gym is clean, as well as the bathrooms. They have open gym on days you'd like to just lift weights and not do a class or if you'd like to workout before or after a class! My whole life has changed, as well as my body! Now that I've completed my weight loss challenges, i'm moving onto another challenge called "hard body" to lose 5% of body fat in 6 weeks. Let's go!

    Claudia B.

Today was my 2nd day of my challenge. This week is detox week and I'm already feeling good.

5/30. 5th day without. Got here early to spin before 8am class. HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!!!

Having now experienced FIT Brea, I'm definitely kicking myself for not trying this gym out sooner. I've only done their group fitness classes so far, which range from 8-12ish people in size, and I'm looking forward to trying out the personal training sessions when my schedule opens up! Here are a few ways that make FIT Brea a standout: COACHING: The coaches here are the whole package! 1. They all have stellar credentials, with many of them holding advance degrees and multiple certifications. In short, they know their stuff. 2. At the risk of sounding facetious, I just want to make the point that the FIT Brea coaches actually coach. It might sound like a no-brainer, but it hasn't always been my experience that coaches do much more beyond demo-ing the moves and saying "good job" or "keep going" every few minutes, especially in a group class setting. Here, the coaches constantly move throughout the room to offer individualized pointers on form, differentiated movements depending on individual strength and mobility, alternative movements for injuries, and encouragement and motivation to keep pushing so I can get better and better. 3. They are all super patient, encouraging, and welcoming! PROGRAMMING: The programming for the group classes are thoughtfully and methodically designed. From what I can tell so far, the workouts are structured in mesocycles with a progressive overload pattern. This is important because if we do the same thing over and over, our bodies will adapt and we will not make appreciable gains over time. With progressive overload, our bodies are constantly challenged so that we can keep increasing strength and improving hypertrophy. COMMUNITY: The FIT Brea community is so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed by the coaches and the other patrons from day one. Several people who recognized that I was new introduced themselves and helped me find and set up various equipment. Others even put my plates and dumbbells back during transitions. Just last week, the whole class broke out into spontaneous applause and cheer when I pushed out that last rep of bench press, haha! The mutually encouraging environment really underpins the whole vibe and experience here. It's a special thing. MANAGEMENT: One of the things that I didn't realize would make a difference in my overall gym experience is having direct access to management/owner. In my past gym experiences, the questions/concerns I had would typically have to go up a chain of command before I got a response. Since FIT Brea is owner-operated, the patrons can directly talk to Andrew, the owner, who is so nice and provides exceptional customer service. SPACE/EQUIPMEMENT: It's spacious, well-maintained, clean, and an overall pleasant environment to train in. CLASS OFFERINGS: I'm a busy mom who works full-time hours plus daily commute. I'm thankful that classes are offered as early as 5am and as late as 6:30pm so that I can get my training time in! If you are looking for a gym where you can optimize and maximize your fitness goals (whatever they are), look no further because FIT Brea is it! I'm a serial Yelp sleuther and almost never write reviews, but my experience thus far has so far exceeded my expectations that I felt compelled to share this gem of a place with others!

You get the group fitness atmosphere and motivation, which I love, but also the attention of personal training because the groups are small, and the coaches are very attentive. The group classes are at most 8 people, so it's never too crowded and there is plenty of equipment to go around. Plus you get inspiration and motivation from the people working out around you. The owner Edgar designs the workout programs to run for 4-6. So you will be doing the same exact exercises each week until the program changes. This gives you the ability to track your progress and make improvements throughout the program. This is very different compared to other group fitness class I've done, which change the workouts each week, and there isn't as much structure or emphasis on tracking your lifts. Funktional fitness is great for anyone wanting to improve their physical fitness. It's great for the beginner and for the advanced lifter. The coaches are very knowledgeable and patient, but they will also challenge you. They have helped me out so much with my form on my lifts and given me cues that have really stuck for me. This is for anyone who's ever felt intimidated by lifting weights -- especially postpartum mamas or…read moremoms-to-be. I'd been eyeing this gym since March but was too shy and honestly a little nervous to pull the trigger. I'm so glad I finally did. When I say I've tried everything, I mean it: Weight Watchers, Herbalife, body wraps from "It Works," personal trainers (multiple times), 24 Hour Fitness, Gold's, Chuze, Orangetheory... you name it. I was also kickboxing 2-3 hours a day and dancing regularly -- but still wasn't gaining the strength or seeing the results I wanted. For years, people told me I needed to lift heavy weights. But even with gym memberships and trainers, I felt overwhelmed and lost. That changed when I finally booked a meeting with one of the owners, Richard. And let me tell you -- I felt seen. He listened to my goals, understood why my current routine wasn't working (kickboxing, OTF, and Gold's included), and laid out a clear plan tailored to me. My goals: * Build strength * Lift heavy * Prep for two showcases this year * Start training for competition Richard showed me how I was overtraining (too much cardio, not enough rest) and helped me refocus my time and energy. Now I'm working out less, with more intention -- and finally seeing results. So I signed up for the unlimited membership. And here we are -- nearly two months in, and I'm seeing progress I hadn't seen in years. Is it out of my comfort zone? Absolutely. But the community and instructors have made all the difference. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and right up my alley aesthetically. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly Here's a quick shout-out to the amazing instructors I've worked with so far: Art - He will challenge you. He will push you. No BS -- he knows what he's doing. He pays close attention to form and demands the best from you because he wants you to get that pump! His attention to detail and deep knowledge really shine. Richard - Super motivating with a strong presence. He gives great feedback on form and always knows how to push you. Don't be surprised if he adds weight or resistance when you least expect it -- he's not letting you coast. Dulce - I absolutely adore her classes. Her voice, teaching style, and overall vibe are perfect for someone like me -- shy and introverted. She's patient, checks in often, and really makes sure things click if you're struggling. Joseph - Humble, inspirational, and so patient -- even while sneakily adding more weight to push your limits. I really appreciate his calm energy and the way he adapts to different learning styles. Kaitlyn - Mighty and feisty! She's kind before class, but once it starts -- no mercy. She will absolutely make you work, and then some. Mark - Super encouraging and positive. He makes it easy to ask questions -- especially helpful for a newbie like me. He creates a safe space to learn and grow. If you're on the fence about trying this place -- let me just say, if I can do it, so can you. It's worth every drop of sweat. The intimidation fades fast once you meet the staff and community. Truly one of the best decisions I've made for myself.
