He was knowledgeable, responsive, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave me confidence during a very stressful situation. If you're dealing with an eviction or have questions about your tenant rights, I highly recommend reaching out to Brian. His expertise and dedication made a huge difference for me, and I'm truly grateful for all of his help.

Before you hire, please read my experience. I hired Brian Johnson on 6/17/26. He presented himself…read moreas a paralegal and UDA. I hired him to help with the eviction process of my father's tenant. I thought it strange that he only accepted Cash app and Zelle. I was going to do the eviction process myself but I figured since he has experience, this might be easier and $2500 was cheaper than any lawyer. Eviction process usually starts with a 3 day pay or quit notice. Brian and another UDA that I was going to hire stated that the 2 previous pay or quit notices that were given by my father were not completely done correctly. Ok. Brian said that he had licensed and bonded process servers. I trusted Brian and that was my fault to do that. When i looked at the paper work, I noticed that the 3 day notice was served on 6/5/26. How could this be? I hired Brian on 6/17/26. I asked Brian who served that notice and he said that my father did. No he didn't. If you know about eviction procedures, if you make errors in the beginning, you pretty much need to start over. I talked to numerous attorneys and they all couldn't figure out why the 3 day pay or quit notice was pre-dated. Brian is basically asking my dad to perjure himself in court. So, the tenant had retained a free lawyer from Legal Aid. After I felt this process was way over my head and over Brian's level of expertise, I decided to hire a lawyer. I told Brian that I hired an attorney and to dismiss the case. He dismissed the case with prejudice instead of without! This means that you can't reopen the case on the same core merits. It was my fault in not looking up what dismissing a case with prejudice meant but I trusted Brian to know what that meant. He screwed us over. It was a waste of $2500 + $500(discovery papers). I did learn a lot during this process. Brian may be great at defending tenants but He is not very knowledgeable defending landlords. I hired him because I thought he would have more knowledge of the loopholes that tenants would find to prevent eviction. Be careful with Brian Johnson. He will try to charge you for additional paperwork that you can find on eforms. He even attempted to offer a lawyer service to my sister for $4000. If you're a landlord, BEWARE. I am giving 2 stars, because when you are his client, he is very responsive to communication, otherwise it would have been 1 star.

I talked to several process servers and explained all our struggles and difficulties. I asked each of them how they would handle the situation if our defendant proved impossible to serve after trying. Chris's answer to that question was a confident laugh and, "I will have him served." That's why I went with him, and I am very happy I trusted my gut. Chris was able to take the limited clues and information we provided, track him down, and complete substituted service when personal service was not realistically possible. What impressed us most was not just that Chris got the defendant served, but what happened afterward. Close to the hearing, the defendant filed a Motion to Quash Service and also sent us a separate packet challenging the service that had not even been properly filed with the court. It was stressful and confusing, but Chris immediately stepped in, provided detailed records, explained the applicable small claims service rules, and helped us understand exactly how to respond. Chris was patient, responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He did not just serve the papers and disappear -- he stood behind his work and helped us deal with the defendant's attempt to challenge service. The judge ultimately denied the defendant's Motion to Quash and found the service to be valid and sufficient. Serving the defendant was the biggest hurdle in our case, and I am so happy Chris helped us get over it. Now that we've won the judgment, Chris is even guiding us on how to claim the service fee, as it's allowed to be recovered by law. We truly appreciate Chris' professionalism, fast response time, attention to detail, and endless patience in explaining the process when we were panicking. If you are dealing with an evasive defendant, a difficult service issue, or someone trying to avoid being served, I highly recommend Chris and SkipNServe.
