    Castrol Oil Price

A simple oil change ended up costing me $190.71, Oil Leak, required two visits, and left me still worried. I'm an engineer and know cars well. I have serious concerns about the shop's practices and professionalism. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding this shop. In my opinion, they prioritize upselling and cutting corners over doing the job right at the expense of your money and potentially your vehicle's health and/or safety. This experience cost me time, money, and stress. Please read my story, hopefully, it helps you. I've attached documentation so you can see the facts and judge for yourself. Thank you It started with a Groupon voucher for oil and oil filter change at $16.15. I took my car to the shop on Saturday, I was told synthetic oil would cost extra (expected), but also claiming screw oil filter are included not cartridge oil filters, despite cartridge filters are cost similarly if not cheaper. Then they refused to perform the "included" tire rotation, claiming my front tires had 3 mm less tread than the rears. That is exactly why tire rotation is done to even out wear. Instead, they tried to charge me $49.95 for it. I declined. Still, I paid $61.62 extra on my first visit. Now the real bad part, the next day, I noticed an oil leak and a stain on my driveway. I regrettably returned on Monday. The technician said the leak was due to a bad oil plug gasket, which they had not replaced. The manager said they "never replace metal gaskets." In my view, that is a basic part of the job and the gasket costs pennies in bulk and replacing, requires no extra labor. To replace it, they drained the oil into a dirty bucket. I refused to have it poured back into my engine due to contamination and future engine problem risk, which any professional should understand. But instead of fixing their mistake at no cost, they charged me $112.94 for new oil. That same oil is sold $55 retail now, less than $50 on sale and likely cheaper in bulk. This charge felt rip off to me as it is a double charge and more than full oil change service in many reputable shops. Now, I'm also left questioning the quality of the oil filter they used as it was not known brand for me and, I don't think they changed the filter o-ring which comes with filter, so more leaks may follow because of that. Yes, they're really quick, but in my opinion, that's because they skip essential steps, avoid responsibility, and prioritize maximizing profit over doing the job properly. They claim they checked a list of items, I was standing beside the car, didn't see they check lights, wipers, other fluids and many other items in the invoice list...

Took for an oil change on September 30th- 2 weeks later (Oct 11th) my oil indicator light came on advising me to top up my oil 1 more litre. I though oil changes were no brainers so i thought nothing of it. My good friend is the foreman at a luxury dealership in Oakville- so when the light came on indicating to top up my oil, I figured id just drop by his shop (Oct 14)- Im no car guy at all- he was shocked to discover the mess and recklessness. They didnt put the cover back on properly, 3 screws missing, and the filter was not attached firmly. Worst of all was the oil pan screw- they screwed it back so tight it morphed the oil pan...this was the cause of the leak...my friend wants me to come back in 5 days to ensure there is no permanent damage. I Returned to the shop that day, showed the manager pictures (7) of what I discovered and they refused to refund my money. I would be curious to see if the owner will reply - he told me today that I should have gone back to their shop to tell them and they would have fixed it free- Im glad I didnt - i never would have discovered what a terrible job they did.

Run and run fast! I took my car in for an oil change...easy, peasy, or so I thought. They showed me a laundry list of things that needed to happen. I opted for an oil change and a new filter. Two days later, the oil light shines bright and red on my dash board. This is the FIRST TIME it has ever lit up. So, I take my car back to Quack Oil Change and they tell me that my oil pan gasket is damaged and needs to be replace. Funny, but that wasn't on the list of things that needed fixing or replacing four days prior!! Google tells me that it will cost about $200 in parts and labour to get this done. DO NOT TRUST YOUR CAR IN THEIR HANDS!

They put a sticky note on my car indicating my tires are off rim. Cars with mounted tires were being prioritized. I watched people come after me and get serviced within 30-60 minutes. I also saw people arrive after me, get greeted by the same person who greeted me, and get marked with the same off rim sticky note, but they got to go ahead of me. When I asked about it, I was lied to and told they were waiting on the other side, yet I watched them arrive and be greeted, and be marked with the same off rim sticky note I was. They lie to your face. They are deceitful and dishonest. When I came to this location to buy my winter tires in January 2025, I was lured in with tires that were a good value. Once I was up on the lift, I was told they were all out of those and only had the more expensive ones. It turned out they had sold all the top of the line ones, and had to admit they only had the tires they lied to me about. 1 Star is too generous a rating for the experiences I've had with this location. It's been 2.5 hours, and I'm finally waiting in a line, but behind people who came after me. I spoke to management about my frustration. They were unsympathetic and didn't care. They lied to me some more, even tried telling me they have people waiting since 8. I'm to believe someone came at 8AM and they're still waiting to go after me? I called at 1:30 to verify how busy it was. I was informed only 4 cars were waiting. Something isn't adding up. Nothing but deceitful liars. I finally got out of there at 6pm. So much for a 2 hour job. 3.5 hours later...

The highway is not exactly clean and there's no real safe place to pull over so I'm hoping I can ride it out to the next exit. I am able to make it safely to Trafalgar Road in Oakville and I exit and take the first right and then the first right ready to change my own tire at a Petro Canada station where I see a Goodyear auto service center. How lucky am I that I don't wipe out on the highway, make it safely to the exit and the first place I pull over has a place that can get me a new tire? Well luck is how you look at it. It could have been I didn't get a flat at all that would have been lucky too but if something is going to happen on the road the best scenario is that you're safe and that you are able to get help as soon as possible. It just so happened the place was open and I spoke to the gentleman at the counter explaining what my issue was. He came outside and looked at the tire. I could tell the tire was a goner. My worry at that point was that the rim was ok. He told me that his guys weren't in just yet but they coming in shortly. He checked to see if they had stock of my particular tire and they didn't which is sort of understandable because I have a non-standard size. It's not the first time I've been told that and I knew it. Well it so happens they didn't have immediate stock but they could get it delivered. I was thinking how long is this going to take? Sitting in the waiting area and just killing time I was able to speak to the gentleman who helped me. I learned that he was the owner and his name was Mauricio. He explained how it is becoming more and more common that service stations such as his business are not as common. Basically how gas stations are just gas stations now and mom and pop service stations attached to gas stations are just not as common. I have to say I agree. Where I live and grew up most of my life in Etobicoke I've seen 4 gas stations/service stations turn into houses or banks or strip malls. I have to go all the way to Saturn Shell near Renforth and Burnhamthorpe to get gas now and it's only a gas station. This Goodyear / Trafalgar tire is on Iroquois Shore which is basically the first street north of the QEW. It's where you would turn if you're coming from the south of Trafalgar and looping around to go to Oakville Place. This place used to be a Certiguard service station but that's no longer since Mauricio took over this space and made it a Goodyear Auto Service Centre. They do brakes, oil changes and of course, tires. So in speaking with Mauricio I learned a lot about him in the short time I was there. He is a very personable person and although he's originally from Sao Paulo Brazil he's been around the GTA long enough that we were able to speak of how things were in the 80's and such. He's a really good guy with a good business in a good area. As far as the service goes they didn't have my tires in stock. I ended up getting a second one because the other one had uneven wear on it and I did notice I was getting a bumpy ride out of it. I ended up changing both. I had to also visit a service center in Pittsburgh to change a flat and destroyed tire in August of last year. I ended up changing both front tires because my other front tire had a bulge. All in all I was able to get both rear tires replaced that they didn't have in stock in about an hour which is pretty quick. They would have been able to do it quicker if they didn't have to have the tires brought in. Fast and friendly service with competitive pricing. What more can one ask for?
