The best hot chicken in San Antonio. Bathrooms spotless is just great restaurant management. Decor is hip and cool! Get rich or die fry in'....they ain't dyin'....

Recommend: Maybe I…read morerecently visited Dave's Hot Chicken in Schertz, and it seems like they just opened--because it was very busy. I'm guessing once the initial rush dies down, the experience might feel a bit more relaxed. When I first walked in, there was a slight unpleasant smell, kind of like body odor, which wasn't the best first impression. That said, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Even though I ordered through the kiosk (which was easy and straightforward to use), employees still checked in to see if I needed anything. After placing my order, it took about 10-15 minutes to get my food, which felt reasonable considering how crowded it was. I decided to sit outside since it was a nice day, and they do have both indoor and outdoor seating options. As for the food--portions are definitely generous. I ordered two sliders (mild spice level) and a salad. The sliders had thick pieces of chicken, and while they were filling, the chicken itself was a bit too thick for my liking and didn't have much flavor beyond the spicy seasoning on the outside. On the positive side, the sauce on the sliders was really good. The salad was also a standout--I genuinely enjoyed it. The fries were another highlight: fresh, crispy, and paired well with the sauce. Overall, this visit felt a bit hit-or-miss, possibly because of how busy things were. I'm willing to give it another try down the line to see if the experience improves once things settle. If you're curious, it's worth checking out for yourself.

I had such an exceptional experience this Sunday afternoon at 1:59 PM at Raising Cane's Chicken…read moreFingers, Potranco Rd that I felt compelled to share it. The team working at that time, especially the two employees taking orders outside, were absolutely phenomenal. They were professional, patient, and incredibly courteous. What stood out most was that they did not rush me at all while I placed my order. In the past, I've felt hurried at other locations, including Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, 10938 Culebra Rd, so this level of attentiveness truly made a difference. Their positive energy was contagious and genuinely uplifting. It's clear they take pride in their work and care about creating a great customer experience. The atmosphere they created was welcoming, efficient, and upbeat, exactly what great service should feel like. This team represents the brand exceptionally well. Thank you for making my Sunday afternoon such a great one!

I haven't eaten at canes in probably 4 years. I know I'm not crazy, but the chicken seems to have gotten smaller. If we are being honest with ourselves, we just come for the sauce. Eat the chicken by itself, and tell me it's amazing. You can't because it's not. It's bland. The fries the same, dip them in the sauce, great, no sauce, meh! The toast is great though! Heck go get some strips from Popeyes, then buy sauce at heb or Walmart.

SECOND VISIT My…read moresecond time accidentally ordering pick up via the McD's app since this place has opened this year. I hate that I keep doing that! Pros: It has a drive thru that is open 24/7. Cons: This place is "To-Go" only, so there is no place to get comfy there. Keep that in mind. It's strictly grab up your food and eat in your car, head home or some other destination. Not really a "con", just something to be aware of. Their website needs some major attention as the hours are not updated, it literally says they're closed right now. Smh. https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/location/tx/san-antonio/12844-potranco-road/40943.html#accordion-6ce38473d6-item-7e260aa21e What really irritated me were the drinks. I ordered 2 large Sprites (with no ice) and when my order comes out to me at curbside, I see the worker struggling to hold my bag of food and two large cups in his arms. A drink holder/carrier would've been a nice offer (whether I accepted or not), I mean, what makes you think I wanna struggle like you are when I get to my destination?! My usual McD's location brings items out in a caddy with sauces and other conveniences that could easily include folded drink holders in case patrons request one. It's a thoughtful touch and I would've certainly accepted one. But the real issue was my drinks were LITERALLY HALF FULL. I don't like ice watering down my drinks so I ask for none, which every other location will still fill my drink to the top. Not this location. See pic. I should've photographed the other, but I offered it to my hubby as it had slightly more than this one (I'm a nice wifey). The levels between the cups weren't even level. But really? Are you THAT hard up that you penny pinch on freaking soda?! It reminded me that they actually did that the first time I was stuck picking up my order here. Clearly a unique move by a franchisee that has approached operations for this new location with a very strict budget. Good luck to them, genuinely, but I'm good. I'll pass on this location and stick to my usual location further up the road @ 14250 Potranco Rd. near the 211.
