First time visiting and highly recommend! I've been looking for a new fabric store to work on some children's apparel projects as an over confident creative (DIYnot?) While the store is definitely tailored towards quilting, they have an incredible selection of cotton fabrics, sewing tools, cutting tools, elastics, etc. I could've gotten lost just checking out all of the prints and patterns - wish I had more time to look around! I did find what I needed thanks to the person working there. He was super friendly and very helpful in locating materials and providing recommendations for fabric/material measurements based upon my project. I also met some other customers and the vibe overall was so inviting and cozy. The price for everything was very fair and I would happily go back!! I am brand new to quilting. I came in (from out of town) to purchase a backing for my first quilt. I showed the gal my top and said I was looking for a backing that was solid. She took me to a room where they had discounted material. I asked what color she thought would be best and she walked away. Cute lil shop. It's been awhile since I was last at Quilter's Cottage, and I had forgotten what a fabulous collection they have. I was looking for 8 coordinating fabrics for an upcoming class and I was able to easily find them. And driving from Hemet didn't take as much time as I was thinking it would. It will become one of my go to quilt stores again...even tried talking the man cutting the fabric into opening a quilt store in Hemet! We would love it! read more

Second trip to this wonderful little cottage in a week! I just cannot stay away! The selection of fabrics is outstanding. I was introduced to a new fabric line that I had never seen or touched before, and all I can say is Fabulous! Margaret and her husband are amazing. I was having problems with my Martelli cutter, here I was able to find replacement parts to make it as good as new. Small, but mighty, this tiny store packs a punch and definitely makes the most of the available space. I have shopped at stores twice the size where I couldn't find anything to purchase. I loved the organization of fabrics, and that they had a large number of fabrics that I had not seen yet at other stores. The fabrics are well-organized which makes it easy to find what you are looking for. Out of the three of us, one was looking for specific colors (which she found), and I was avowed that I "didn't need any more fabric" (famous last words!). I picked up (and set down) many charm packs and fat quarter packs, until I got to the holiday section (always my downfall). It was the Halloween fabric that did me in! Ultimately, this is a store that I would highly recommend you taking the time to visit... you won't regret it! read more

I stopped by on the Cruisin Quilters run. What a cute store! A wide variety of fabric choices (Moda, Asian, kids, modern, traditional, etc etc). They had bins of half yard cuts (for the run, I'm sure) and they were very nicely displayed. I was impressed! It's quite large and well organized. They specialize in Bernina. Their notions wall was incredible. I found some things that I couldn't find elsewhere in San Diego (the pounce pad with iron off chalk). I was going to order online but was so happy to find it in a store and support local. Fallbrook is not at all close to where I live, but the store was so nice that I may find a reason to go up there a few times a year just to check it out. There's another run in June, I think. read more

This was my first visit, and hopefully not my last. I was at Temecula Creek and after golf, I wanted to visit a fabric/quilt store. I checked out Yelp and decided to go to this shop, even though it was farther than others I found, because it sounded like a neat store. We were greeted with smiles and I liked how unique they arranged the fabrics-each little room had a theme! I wasn't planning on buying any more fabric (as I've said a thousand times before) but found a fabric that was different and perfect for a quilt I need in a month or so. I also got a unique rotary cutter, which I used today and it's very cool! I may be in the area again next month, so I hope I'll have time to visit again! read more

Quilter's Cottage is my favorite quilt shop for purchasing fabric and attending classes and clubs. It is a charming and wonderful quilt shop located in the heart of downtown Fallbrook. The shop has a great selection of fabrics (top name brands of batiks and woven collections), patterns, templates and rulers, threads and accessories any quilter/sewist would need. The shop is also an authorized Bernina dealer. The owner, Jan, is amazing and so very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations and fabric selections.
