I've been consistently impressed here. Shawna is WONDERFUL! I know my baby dog is in good hands…read morehere. Dr Shawna Bais has been so calm and reassuring when I'm feeling worried or stressed about something wrong with my pet. I actually heard a story from a friend about how he and his wife had taken their cat to several vets in town and felt they were all dismissive until they came here and Shawna was the first vet that listened and cared and helped them with the cat. I had to smile when they told me the story because I felt the same way when I came here. She heard me. She cared. And she has taken wonderful care of my puppy. Tonight was really the moment that solidified all this for me. Long story short, I emailed and called after hours. Late at night. On a weekend. And guess who looked at my emailed pictures and called me back? I could have cried in gratitude. She was so reassuring, gave me helpful suggestions and wasn't at all upset with me for potentially spoiling her time off. Over and over I'm thankful Shawna is our vet. She's such a blessing!

I've never worked with the vet here so I can't comment towards his medical work but office staff is…read moreclearly not trained. I called to ask about spaying a cat and who ever answered couldn't give me any info. Just kept saying they were booked. I asked how much it would be and he didn't know because there's additional charges but that there was a waiting list. I said that I was ok with being placed in a waiting list, I asked that what was an approximate time for my cat to get looked at and he couldn't give me a time frame either, that he didn't know. I asked when it was a good time to spay my cat and he said 6 months. I asked if I were to be placed on the waiting list and got called before my cat was 6 months old if it would affect her. He didn't know. Ask what would happen with my place if I got called and it wasn't time he didn't know.

Thank God he did she was in so much pain, wasn't drinking or eating and just didn't want to move. No other Vet clinic from Wenatchee to Leavenworth...would see her even Cascade after $600 no diagnosis sent me home with pain meds because I didn't have $1200 for an X-ray. That was just for the x-ray. Dr. Duke let me stay with her during the entire exam even the X-ray. After just a few minutes with her he was already figuring out what was wrong, She had a really high fever and she had something in her stomach she wasn't digesting, he showed me everything on the x-ray. Gave her an antibiotic shot, & pills & meds to pass the stuff out of her stomach that was causing so much pain & infection. He also dewormed her, trimmed her nails. All those clinics say they care about your pet, only if you got the money other wise they will turn your pet away to die period. Tell me again how much they care for your pet, two faced its all an act! Dr. Duke charged me way less than $600 including x-ray, meds and all. Wow the vet clinics are really price gouging us all.

We recently returned to Wenatchee to find that our favorite Vet, Dr. Berdan had retired. After…read moreseveral disappointing experiences with other veterinarians, we found Dr. Dario Duke on Yelp. The reviews were so glowing that I was skeptical. Nonetheless, we called him and he was very receptive. He saw and treated our Italian Greyhound the same day, after hours! We've since adopted a terrier mix from the local shelter and Dr. Duke has scheduled her vaccinations promptly. His clinic is a separate building on a property where other animals are corralled in his care. He is obviously the 'real deal' in veterinary medicine--reminds us of James Herriot caring for "All Creatures Great and Small". His charges are the best we've found currently in the area, but that's not the priority. The interest and care he has shown our animals is the most important, and he has won our confidence.
