Ashlyn is a gem in the hard to navigate world of non-traditional medicine. Thousands of…read moreacupuncturists. How do you choose one? Yelp to the rescue! I'm glad I found Ashlyn on here because acupuncture with her has been a fantastic experience. Since going in for treatment, I've felt less stressed, anxious and have more energy to give. I originally went in for some knee / neck injuries, but was also curious to see the effects of acupuncture on anxiety and stress. There's definitely more to her than the treatment itself. Her compassion radiates and she looks at the whole picture (there's a reason your first appointment with her is 90 minutes long and there are no needles used) to give you suggestions for overall health and wellness. I've cut down on coffee significantly, per her suggestion...and that in itself has been a small (but noticeable) change. The first needle treatment we did was a 'cleansing' of sorts, to release the bad 'mojo.' I came into it with an open mind, but knowing that I could truly only measure its effects with how I felt after. The session itself was pretty intense. Lots of sweating -- somewhat painful (but not overwhelmingly so), but I'll tell you that after it, I felt a whole lot of tension leave my body and felt a sense of clarity and happiness. If it was placebo, I'll gladly pay to experience it again. Ashlyn is not cheap, but that's because she spends the entire session with you. Other acupuncturists will often simply stick needles in you and then leave the room, but not her. She simply puts the needle in until the point is stimulated, then withdraws it immediately. It's different than my previous experience, but it works. She also uses matcha quite often to stimulate points before using a needle. I still have ongoing sessions with her, but after a few (the second session where we actually did needle work was more subtle than the first one, but still awesome)...I'm convinced. I'll gladly recommend her to anyone. If you're looking for a phenomenal acupuncturist, stop looking.

A true healer. I went to Ashlyn after I got nerve damage in my arm. My doctor's office had told me…read morethat I would need an archaic and painful procedure, so I decided to try acupuncture first. In one visit, Ashlyn made the pain go away. Based on that experience, I decided to see Ashlyn regularly with my general health concerns. My asthma has never been better and she even helped alleviate some of my morning sickness. If you have gone to acupuncture before, you have probably not been to an acupuncturist like Ashlyn. I used to go a lot when I lived in California, but I had never been to someone who does 5-element acupuncture. Appointments tend to take a bit longer (especially the first one) and she doesn't actually leave the needles in. She does this thing where she puts the needle in until you feel a twinge (I am sure there is some technical name for this) and then takes it out. It may be disconcerting the first time, but I can't argue with the results.

Dr. May Wang Yelp Review…read more Dr. Wang has hands down provided me with the most compassionate, responsive, expert, and most importantly, impactful, medical treatment and services I have ever received in my life. She takes the time to get to know you at a human level, dives into the reasons why you are seeking medical treatment, and addresses all ailments comprehensively, as opposed to the segmented treatment I've become so accustomed to elsewhere which never seems to lead to a comprehensive resolution. Initially, I sought out Dr. Wang's acupuncture services for severe heartburn and heart palpitations due to a diagnosed leaky tricuspid heart valve. She was quick to emphasize that I would need to continue seeing my cardiologist for my standard Echocardiograms, stress tests and EKGs for ongoing tracking of the extent of my valve leak which I appreciated. The first few acupuncture treatments were intense but manageable and so very worth it because after 3-4 sessions, all of that intensity dissolved (needle pain, sweaty palms, etc.). I now enjoy the relaxation of acupuncture more than a spa treatment. After a few weeks of multi treatments a week, I started to see significant improvements which immediately benefited my daily quality of life. The heartburn symptoms dissipated, heart palpitations ceased, and my sleeping and energy made me feel like I turned the clock back 15 years. Now my maintenance plan is once a month. I've never felt stronger or healthier and am back to running 4 miles a day a couple times of week which I wasn't able to do for years and only have Dr. Wang to thank. A few weeks ago, I started having severe pain from running in my calf, to the extent that I couldn't run. I went in for my monthly appointment and shared this issue with Dr. Wang and she knew the exact spot and muscle to tackle in both of my calves. The pain was gone immediately after treatment and I was back to my routine the following day with no further issues. Thank you, Dr. Wang, for being you and I am so thankful to have discovered the vast benefits of your acupuncture treatments!! - Kate

I was able to set up my initially appointment the same week, which I thought was great! When I arrived, Kevin was a little backed up, but he made sure to let me know that so I was prepared. The place is clean and quaint, has a large waiting area, and several treatment rooms. When I finally got in the room with Kevin, we went over all the details of my visit and he made sure to ask all the pertinent questions and checked my joints, etc. to help him help me more effectively. Once he started treatment, he was very thorough and quick compared to other places I've been. He did explain what he was doing and also how he would let me rest while the needles did their work, but would check on me regularly. I always get so relaxed during treatment, and this time was no different. I was able to get a small nap in and felt so comfortable. At the end, he followed up with a ointment and quick massage, which is typical. He was a little rougher with that than I'm used to, but wasn't uncomfortable. A great experience, and have my next session booked as I will most likely need several for my issue and will continue treatment regularly for general purpose after. Look forward to returning!
