Our family had been loyal customers for years. Dr.Quinn is a phenomenal physician, however, since office management has changed it is obvious that they now value profit more than patient satisfaction. I have both health insurance and Humana exam and materials vision insurance. My exam today was an annual exam to get prescription updates for both glasses and contacts. This is covered with a $10 copay with my vision insurance. I did agree for "additional" tests which I was told would be scheduled a few months later which would require the use of my health insurance at that time. However when I left my visit, without having the "additional testing" which I was told would cost $65.00 at a later date, I was presented with a $127 copay, and they used my health insurance instead of vision insurance. I didn't purchase contacts/glasses- and did NOT agree to any additional testing other than what I was told would be scheduled at a later date. Quinn eye center office mgt. chose to use my health insurance instead of my vision insurance adding one item (which I had NOT previously agreed to not been informed of cost) claiming they were "saving" me money. When I attempted to resolve this issue, speaking with both Christine and John Michael, I received 2 different rationales for this cost. I cannot recommend an eye doctor who charges a $127 copay for annual eye exam when the patient has vision insurance that would cover these items with only a $10.00 copay. After appointment, I called my Humana vision insurance representative who indeed told me that both contact and eyeglass prescriptions are included in their annual eye exam with only a $10 copay. It is very sad because we have been loyal patients for years. I CANNOT in good conscience recommend them any more. read more

The Doctors and staff are professional and cordial. The execution of referrals and Rx -- not so great. Between this location and the other Dr. they referred me to, I'm in over $500 with no Rx and nothing to show for the money spent - and this is with insurance! When asked why that matters she shut up but never tried to help. Called today to get the model number so I can communicate directly with the brand website... no answer and no return call. The doctor was nice however she grossly over prescribed and this ended up causing problems for years for me. My prescription was too high for what I actually needed, and I developed constant eye pain, eye strain, headaches, dizziness due to my vision being off for years. If you value your time and bedside manner, I'd steer clear from this location. The doctor who worked with me couldn't answer questions regarding the contacts I was trying out, and brushed off the eye dilation as being the cause for bluriness. When I was given contacts to try out, the doctor removed some from the pack because "they are more expensive". I didn't think 5 daily contacts was going to break the bank but I suppose for this center this will. When I left, I didn't receive a prescription for my glasses and was prescribed bi-weekly's instead of daily's.. yet I only tried out the daily's. I had to come back to pick up the prescription and try out a pair of bi-weekly's before committing to a year supply. And when I returned I was left in the waiting room for about an hour while the doctor "figured out" something that was expressed to me over the phone would just be a quick pick up and everything would be ready. Never had a bad experience at an eye doctor but somehow these people managed to do it. Not coming back here, I hardly trusted the results from the exam. read more

First, I called months ago about a routine eye exam. The person who answered the phone had to check with someone else to see if my eyecare henefits covered it. Really??? A routine eye exam??? He came back to say that my benefits didn't cover it and that I would need a referral from my primary care physician. Really??? For a routine eye exam??? I called my provider, and the person I spoke with laughed because (a) my plan DOES cover a routine eye exam and (b) I DON'T need a referral. Then I called today -- a Tuesday -- THREE times and got a recording each time. I left a name and callback number the first time. It took THREE HOURS for me to be called back. These are examples of BAD, BAD MANAGEMENT. I will consequently NOT be doing ANY business with Quinn. read more

I was so impressed with this eye center. My mom recommended it to me and I immediately made an appointment for an eye exam. I got to the appointment about 10 minutes early, they had all the paperwork ready for me to be filled out, and took me back into a room right on time. I was completely done about 35 minutes later. The doctor and technicians were so nice and informative. I really appreciated that they were on time and got me out quickly. I also really loved the extra touches this office had, such as coffee in the waiting areas. Little things like this are much appreciated! read more

I am so disappointed. Our prior visits to Quinn were good with prompt attentive service. At this moment we have been sitting for over an hour. No one has offered any updates. My dad had a really bad eye infection on top off shingles. He could get into see his regular eye doctor. We found Quinn eye center. They weren't seeing patients that day but told me he would see my dad at 3:00. I was so shocked and so relieved he could see him. DrQuinn and all the staff weren't nice caring and professional. Dr Quinn did such a through job cleaning and taking care of my dad's eye. My husband and I are going to change to dr Quinn. We can't say enough how wonder Dr Quinn is. I made an appt several years ago and my experience has stuck with me. It was a nice office and everyone was very professional. My optometrist was experienced and friendly and thought I got a good exam. What I was so surprised by though was how much he encouraged me to have LASIK/PRK (for thin corneas). My vision at the time was only -2.25 or -2.5 at the worst, which I didn't feel like was that challenging to live with. But he insisted "well you can only see something at such and such distance when others can see it at 20 feet, that is pretty significant". I decided not to spend my money or take risks with my eyes. Since then, my vision has actually improved on its own, I have been down prescribed each time I go to an optometrist and I now wear -1.5. (All the optometrists have been different and found this independently). If I had listened to his advice I would be over corrected. This is not an issue with distance vision but is a common reason why people have to wear reading glasses at an earlier age. I am so glad I decided against his advice and wonder if the optometrists receives commissions for laser eye surgery referrals? I was also frustrated by the office's insistence that in order to obtain a contact lens prescription one must have a fitting service. This is an additional fee which cuts into your contact lens insurance reimbursement...this I realize is not unique to this office but is pretty much universal. It is still annoying that you don't get that as part of the basic service for the exam. read more

Seriously the only place to come for eye exams, contacts or glasses. I've never had such a thorough eye exam discovering an allergy that had been longstanding and missed by previous exams. Very professional office with an almost all female staff (power up!) that is very knowledgeable and takes their time with you despite how busy they are. As others mentioned there is a wait time, but really I spent most of my 30-45 min wait picking out my frames which is about the time I needed, so it just saved time on the back end of the visit. Worth the "wait." They are not a 24 hour or express place, but they made sure I got my lenses the next day because I had no other glasses and needed them to function. I only give 4 stars because the frame selection is decent but not stellar. I felt a lot of the frames were redundant. However, I was lucky enough to find one frame that I really liked, which doesn't always happen with my mug. read more

My whole family uses this practice. Very professionally run and we don't have to wait long to get into the exam room. The eyeglass wear selections are extensive and there is a price range for every budget. The technicians take their time to explain each aspect of the lens fitting and go over each price for add ons such as anti-glare or "bluelight" protection. No pressure, you choose as much or as little as you want for your lenses. Also, I am a clean freak, so I definitely check out the store for messiness. No messiness or clutter behind the counters, everything is put away and in its right place. Also the floors are very clean, and the mirrors on the walls where the glasses are displayed are shiny! There is a coffee/beverage station in the waiting area and it is always very organized and clean. The doctors are patient and explain each step of the exam. Lastly, as soon as my glasses arrived, I was contacted by the staff to come pick them up! Two thumbs up for this facility. read more

Been here 2 years and always had great service here! The receptionists are always very kind and helpful, I go to adjust my glasses every now and then and they are very the staff is very pleasant and fix my glasses quickly. My ophthalmologist is great and answers all my questions. They are taking great precautions with COVID-19. My only complaint is I have a unique insurance that has special benefits and from year to year they seem to forget these benefits, so when I told them verbally this year that I have these benefits they didn't believe me, and they looked it up and read the insurance coverage and still told me my insurance didn't cover this. So I spoke to the ophthalmologist directly and he had someone else check, and they verified the benefit and apologized for the first person who apparently misread my insurance coverage the first time. Just a bit annoying that they don't have that marked down in my chart somewhere and have trouble verifying it every time I get new glasses. This is the only reason I would not give them five stars, but everything else has been perfect! Still, would recommend this place to anyone needing an ophthalmologist - just make sure you know your coverage well in case some new employees mess it up by accident and end up charging you more than you expect! read more

I was very satisfied with my first experience with Quinn Eye Center for my young daughter. They are one of a few places that see children as young as my daughter and everyone on the visit was wonderful. I returned three weeks ago to get an adjustment for the same glasses and the lady who adjusted them was quite unfriendly and acted like she didn't really want to do it. Needless to say she didn't do a good job and we were back in there today for another adjustment. I must say that Brianna had the nastiest attitude I have ever encountered in a place of business. She acted like my daughter was going to give her a disease and it was obvious that adjustments were not on her list of things she wanted to do. And especially not for a child. When my daughter reached for her glasses, Brianna visibly recoiled and made a face like my daughter had coughed on her. Very unprofessional and left me glad that my children are too young too pick up on this behavior. This is the reason I asked Brianna for her name-to write this review. If this business does not want to deal with children, I understand and then they should adjust the minimum age. Otherwise, make sure all of your employees are comfortable working with children. My whole family wears glasses and I was thinking of switching all of us over to Quinn. Not so sure now if I'll be back. read more

I've now been going here for a couple years. I have to add in Debbie. Every time I walk in I get something like "Oh no, my day was going great until you got here." I LOVE her. We haven't worked with Manny much but he's helped out and was very helpful each time and Debbie....she's as sweet and helpful and professional every single time. The doctors are very pleasant. I don't feel rushed. My wife had her first appointment here and they were terrific with her (they were extra patient since my wife doesn't speak a ton of English yet). They don't oversell glasses. If I don't need something, they tell me. If I do, they also tell me. They come up with solutions for my issues/questions. They all patiently answer questions and try to solve them. I still think this whole process of texting landlines (business texting without permission?? Yikes!) is sloppy. I've had too many instances where glasses were ready and they simply don't alert me, etc, etc, but other than that, I can't find anything even mediocre - it's all terrific. read more

I'd rather pay more for a great experience. When u walk through the front doors, everyone greets and speak... Literally everyone. The ladies at the front desk are really nice (and funny) and even the glasses lady was super helpful, not only with eye care but with the Gainesville area. I was seen by Dr. Hodges who is just too freakin awesome for his own dang good!! He explains everything so clear and won't have you sitting in the chair all day. I had several exams done in the past and by far this was my favorite. They're fast, courteous, respectful of your time and the staff really does care about each person. I started going to Quinn when they first opened. I followed him from his last place of employment because during a routine eye exam he found an unusual eye problem with my child. We had a MRI and were referred to Shands that night. Luckily it was a benign diagnosis. I am grateful for his thorough exams on all of his patients. I recently saw Dr. McAllister and she exceeded my expectations also. I appreciate the weekend hours since I work 5 days a week. The staff are professional and polite at all times.
