This place gets five stars for having veggies and salad. Those are difficult items to find in the Azores. They also had a zucchini and cauliflower creamed soup. My boyfriend had the steak with traditional garlic and pepper sauce. The meat was chewy. It was 13€ and included 2 sides! The beer and wine were reasonably priced. The view is amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating. For dessert, we had their homemade ice cream. We had a banana split and the cookies and cream. plenty of parking in the attached lot.

Haven't been on the island long but love this place so brightly colored they have a little shop you can buy cheese, wine, jams, and little stuff like that right by the dinning room, we had a reservation both times going with large 7/9 ppl groups all the food looked so good and came Farley quick the workers were very friendly we got some sangria and it was great definitely recommend as well as saving room for ice cream and waffles but if you can't you can get some ice cream to go The view is also a amazing from both in and outdoor seating

The gelato here is the best I've ever had. And you can't beat the view ...it's amazing!...I had the fresh crepes with one scoop of gelato and Carmel sauce on top with nuts...so good!

Many people rave about this place and it is nice; however, it is not amazing. You have to stand in line and wait to pre-order/pay for your meals upfront and it can be very time consuming. We waited for quite a while (about 30-40 mins) to receive our drinks and food. They should give you your drinks immediately after you place your order at the counter. The food was decent and the facility was nice and clean. There is also a nice view and plenty of seating. The cookies and cream ice cream was great. There is a small store that has lots of food, wines, and many other things for purchase. I will probably try this place one more time to see if I have a better experience.

During our week's stay on Terceira Island, we became regulars at Quinta dos Açores, stopping every other day or so for lunch or an ice cream treat. The ice cream counter has a fantastic selection that changes every couple days or so. The salads are fresh and tasty, and I am told by the others in our party that the waffles are wonderful. (Pictures included!) From the dining area on the second level, you can see, beyond the black lava stone fences and jewel-green fields that are a hallmark of the Azores, the twin bays of Angra in the distance. My only caveat for American visitors is to immediately turn right at the entrance and go upstairs to eat. You don't want to do what we did and witness beef being butchered in the processing plant downstairs. I then made the mistake of ordering a hamburger for lunch. That being said, Quinta dos Açores is a must for your Terceira Island visit!

This place was highly recommended by friends that have lived on the island. It is a one stop shop for visitors. They have great selection of souvenirs, all natural food and ice cream. I am very impressed of how clean and modern the place looks even outside at the parking lot slots there's a sense of art when this place was built. There's only one thing on the first floor which is a viewing area to where they butcher or package meat. The second floor is where you can shop and eat. The prices are reasonable at their souvenir shop. Most of what they sell are local or from Portugal such as jewelries, boxed chocolates, wines, and anything you can think of. They also sell fresh meat, seafood, cheese and minimal selection of fresh vegetables. The restaurant and ice cream parlor is adjacent to the shop. The food is really good, you can taste the grass fed cows from the ground meat on their burgers. The onion ring is also fresh and has a nice crunch from its batter. Oh my...the crepes and ice cream are to die for. You can really taste the all natural ingredients from cows milk it's made from. I highly recommend this place. I love the cleanliness and their belief of providing customers with all natural ingredients on the food they serve. This place will not disappoint you based on my experience.

We first came here as part of our half a day bus tour of the island, so I was a bit skeptical and thought this might be another tourists trap. The place is a one stop shop for grocery items, cheese, wine, butcher shop, souvenirs, dining and they even have a play area for kids. It's very bright and spacious, we were given a nice selection of local cheeses and yogurts to try as part of the tour. It was nice since we could then purchase any of the items we liked. The prices here are very reasonable, a great place to stock up on olive oil and passion fruit liquor which seems to be very popular. On our second visit we came to the dining area, the steak and egg dish was really delicious. My favorite food items here was their hearty soup, it had cabbage, sausage and other veggies plus it came with buttered garlic toast. The soup is about 2 euros and definitely fills you up. Be sure to leave room for dessert, the crepes were delicious!!

People are nice... the food I ordered was ok I've had better. The fries were cold. My son loved the ice cream so that's a plus.

WHAT. AN. EXPERIENCE…read more Fresh, high-quality food, a warm and genuinely homey atmosphere, and some of the most attentive service we experienced in the Azores. This family-style restaurant is easily one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The experience starts the moment you walk in. On the way to your table, you stop by the wine wall and choose what you'd like to drink. There's no traditional menu and only a limited selection of dishes, but that's part of what makes this place so special. Everything is focused on what's fresh and available that day. We were a group of 10, which worked perfectly because we were able to order and share practically everything they had. We had **fresh-caught fried swordfish with potatoes**, beautifully crisp on the outside while remaining tender and delicate inside. The **grilled octopus with vegetables** was another standout--simple, fresh, and cooked exactly right. We also tried the **fresh tuna**, a **ribeye with French fries and a fried egg on top**, and **duck with potatoes**. Every dish felt comforting and unpretentious, but the quality of the ingredients really spoke for itself. And after all that food, we finished with coffee--exactly the way you should end a long, leisurely Portuguese meal. What I loved most was that this didn't feel like a restaurant trying to impress you. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home and being fed incredibly well. No unnecessary frills, no complicated menu--just great ingredients, generous portions, family-style hospitality, and food made with care. Taberna Roberto deserves every bit of recognition it gets. If you're visiting São Miguel, this is one place I would absolutely make the trip for. One of those meals you remember long after the trip is over.

Two caveats up front: cash only & no wifi…read more Other than that, this is an outstanding restaurant. Seems like most people get the Steak on a Stone, and that's definitely the thing to do. It's probably the best steak I've ever had. Frank, the spirited owner who REALLY has fun joking around with everyone, delivers you a cut of meat so tall and trim you'll think you're looking at a runway model. But unlike Gigi Hadid, this steak is served to you uncooked on a 500°F brick of volcanic stone. This steak is grilled for you, and mostly BY you, on the superhot slab right there at your table! Frank gets the cooking started for you, but you basically slice each bite onto the smoldering brick and hold it on there for a bit to cook it. It is such perfect beef that you can't mess it up. I also got the simple appetizer spread with two kinds of fresh bread, some cheese, olives, and cute little sausage bites. All of those were exceptionally good, except that the olives are the same kind you get at every restaurant on this island. Seriously, though, what an awesome dinner experience this was. Unless tender red meat is not your scene, you need to try this at least once if you're visiting the island.

The architecture of this restaurant is very unique and stands out from all the other building - looks like spaceship. They have a small parking lot or you can park somewhere nearby on the street. We were there quite early for dinner, we sat the opposite side of the sunset (it was glaring and it wouldn't have been enjoyable because it was really warm in there. Not sure if the AC was broken that day, but they had the fan on which helped a little. The waiter was attentive and gave us the run down on the specials of the day. We had ordered bread and wine. We watched the sky as it turned from golden yellow to pinkish purple. It was a really nice restaurant to enjoy sunset colors and good food. We had ordered the limpets and risotto balls as our appetizers, which were delicious! We could've just ordered a few rounds of that and called it a night, but of course we want to try other entrees. My bf and I got their local beef steak served with cheese, another got a wreckfish entre, and gully jack fish entre. We all enjoyed our meals a lot and cleared the plate, except me. I normally like my steak medium rare, so that's what I ordered. It looked like it was perfectly done. It's two pieces of steak sandwiching local cheese. It was a bit hard to cut through it since the knives weren't that sharp, but I managed. It tasted delicious and fresh, but it was a bit on the chewy side. It wasn't as tender as it looked. Flavor was good and it paired well with a side salad. However it was a bit too much for. I think I would share this dish if I were to order it again, since it's two pieces of steak. I would like to try other dishes. Nothing like ending the night with desserts. My friend and I got their pineapple, since we've been enjoying them in Ponta Delgado. My boyfriend got their brownie and ice cream, while the other got their "special" the lava cake. We were disappointed with the pineapple. It was really sad looking, just sliced in finger length without any kind of presentation. What's worse is that it's not sweet at all. On the other hand, the boys with the chocolate loved theirs. I tried the brownie and I actually liked it a lot for a person that does not eat chocolate. Maybe next time.

We had just gotten into Terceira and were famished and although this isn't close to the airport, it wasn't a far drive so we decided to try it out. Oh, it also happened to be open which was a plus. Pulling into the parking lot we were immediately taken aback by how futuristic and sheek the design of the building was. It looks like a spaceship. We walked in and went up the stairs and were quickly seated next to these giant windows which overlooked the countryside. It truly was picturesque. Even though it was crowded, we were helped quickly, I believe by the manager, who helped us make our decisions. We ordered the sangria and the manager asked if we liked it sweeter or drier to which we replied sweeter. Let me tell you, this was the best sangria we've ever had. It was sweet without being overly sweet and had different fruit than your typical oranges and strawberries. It had those but also blueberries and red currants which popped with flavor as you bit them. For appetizers we got the octopus salad and were feeling a bit adventurous so we also ordered the barnacles. The octopus salad was cold and olive oily and was very tasty, especially with the bread that was served. The barnacles come attached to a rock in a grouping, we got 5 on ours and for .85 Euro/barnacle, they were not pricey. They came presented on a bed of sea salt with a small fork to grab into the shells and pluck the meat out. These were very surprising and had a salty flavor like the ocean and I was very glad I tried them! Try them if you're nervous! For our main dishes my mother got grouper with a large prawn and a side salad. She said it was delicious. The salad, like I have noticed all over the islands, is just raw vegetables that come with vinegar and olive oil on the side, no dressing on the actual salad. It is odd at first but it works as a nice palate cleanser, especially between flavorful and heavy bites of your entree. I ordered fried triggerfish (another fish I had never tried), served with lemon risotto and arugula. My dish was amazing. It was fried to perfection and everything went so well together, also the portion was huge! We were unfortunately too full for dessert and we wish we would've come back here but we were only on the island for two days so it was not really possible. Come here and love it; it truly is a gem!
