It has some stores you'd expect- Starbucks, CVS, Price Chopper- but then there are different, unexpected shops like Duck Donuts & 2 specialty shoe stores- SAS and The Foot Spot. The Hallmark store and the ACE hardware are better than your average locations of those chains. There's also Salon Mission that offers hair and massage services, Dewey's pizza restaurant, and the wonderful Glenwood movie theater, among others. I've written separate reviews for many of these places. Parking can be tricky and annoying, but what parking lot isn't?!

Most of the shops seemed like destination shops and not just stop to shop for fun to spend time, but the Ace Store here isn't your typical Ace Hardware. At least it isn't during the Christmas season as they had lots of gift ideas such as soaps, cooking pans and pots and mugs, etc. I'll leave a review for it too.

This is one of these brand new fancy futuristic space-age shopping malls that I really hate - which are completely full of all of your very expensive brand name shops including a few local things as well. The Bubble Tea here (which is why I came here the most recent time) was about twice the price Bubble Tea should be, and about half as good. Go figure. Welcome to suburban hell. It is pretty though. Like a lot of the people who come here.

The Crown Center is a family friendly shopping and entertainment spot. Mostly clean and well…read moremaintained space. There are shops like Hallmark, Crayola, Starbucks, convenience store, tea store, souvenir store, Halls (luxury store, mostly expensive goods), local KC good store and so many different restaurants. The hallway connects it to entertainment places like Hallmark visitor center, Kaleidoscope, Sealife and Lego Center. In the plaza they also had ice rink and Christmas decorations. There's indoor parking, street car stop and Union station (minutes away) for guests. Throughout the day, lots of tourists, including families with kids visit this center. The restaurants have varieties like bbq, pizza and sandwiches. Sheridan's frozen custard is a really popular ice cream store. It is also connected to Westin hotel via passageway. I did struggle a bit the signs and directions. There were not clear in some corners. Security personnel are available throughout the plaza, we took some direction help from them. But overall it's a prime spot in KC.

I took my girls down here via streetcar a few days after Christmas and there's just simply nothing to do but eat or buy. We saw a bunch of Christmas village type decorations from their holiday market, but everything was being torn down. There aren't a lot of play areas outside otherwise. So we ventured throughout the inside, and while a few decent restaurants, it's sort of just like an old mall food court. They do have an area back by the Coterie Theater that you can see Santa, or during other seasons, has some kind of fun, free exhibition for kids. The week after Christmas (and for a month or so), it was shuttered with nothing to do. My girls loved using the Link to Union Station, and finding the old school atrium inside the Westin Hotel en route. What can I say, they're easily entertained, which is why it's disappointing that Crown Center can't live up to their low bar. Positives are the Quixotic theater, the Coterie theater, races here like Hospital Hill, the ice terrace, and the Mayor's Christmas tree ceremony. Otherwise, this needs a splash of love and some fresh ideas.

Though its big city counterpart on the east side of the state has distinct historic and architectural relevance, Saint Louis just isn't as placid or stable feeling as K.C. Country Club Plaza just adds so much. Oh, and there's shopping. As someone else put it, this is the Beverly Hills of Missouri. True. Come to think of it, they could rename 47th Rodeo Drive, pronounce it like the livestock event and have an annual cattle drive to celebrate the city's history. Lol. Jk, jk. Kinda. In all seriousness, it's an absolute favorite for more refined fun.

Red Door, Plate, Shake Shack, Aixois, Rally House, etc. It's part of our city's (IMO) disappointing sprawl, but it is what it is. They also turn the pavilion area into an ice rink in the winter, and there are some good spots to eat in here as well. Not a place I'd regularly seek out living far away, but nice to have and I like how they set up things for families each weekend in the summer.

As with other malls in the metro, this was a mall that was wheezing and hacking it's way to the morgue but suddenly, to the credit of the developers here, it changed. A combination of a well placed Target, a plush movie theater remodel with reclining leather seats, and then the coup de gras, a Trader Joe's has made this place relevant. I will say the east side of the mall parking lot is nightmare fuel. It's too condensed and the whole lot lacks any real flow. Tread cautiously. The west side of the mall is more my jam as you can pop into Gary Gribble's Running Store, Starbucks, and a handful of other good spots with relative ease. It still has that weird, echoey mall vibe when you're in the heart of it, but it's not quite as massive as some other malls that are now memories.
