This is an amazing shop in Lenexa that is all things KC (Mo or Ks). We have a made in Omaha ..in Omaha..but it not laid out this way at all. Made in KC looks like a collective group of small locally owned businesses. Each inlet is owned by a different business, and offers unique items unlike it's neighbors bay. Items range from art, to glassware, jewelry, apparel, and everything Taylor Swift. I will say it is a little over kill with the Taylor Swift stuff, and I am a swiftie (be careful of item spelled swifty) But I suppose this is also a trendy store. I walked out with some cute jewerly and stickers. It's definitely a fun spot to look around. I love that there is a huge coffee shop attached. Looks like you could make a whole day of it here.

Adorable little shop and cafe. My latte was perfect and it ended up being a good bright and airy spot for me to get a few hours of work done. Great r shirt selection for KC souvenirs as well.

Talk about a one stop shop kinda place! I walked in randomly the other night and found a coffee bar, ice cream shop, and shuffle board court attached to this made in kc gift shop. We ended up sticking around for an hour and half just checking out all the local products and sitting at the bar inside. I ended up ordering an espresso martini and trying the honey lavender ice cream (it was gone before I could take a picture.) Both the bartenders were so nice and welcoming, I will definitely be back to try out the shuffle board courts next time.

Welcome to Lenexa, Made in KC!

If you have not made it out far enough west to the burgeoning City Center of Lenexa, then perhaps Made in KC Marketplace will draw you out there. It is yet another Kansas City institution finding its way to the western edges of Johnson County in the up-and-coming area just near Shawnee Mission Park. I'm spoiled: this is my neighborhood, and while I love so many other areas of our great city, now I can have a shorter trek to a local Made. With some of their newest designs from Carly Rae and Jill Marie, there is literally something for everyone. Want to celebrate the Chiefs or highlight the Kaufmann Center? Combed cotton clothing, local artist prints, and more will let you rep KC or share it with visiting loved ones. A coaster set is a fabulous way to add KC accents to any room, and that's the simple stuff! And the food & drink? Build your own six-pack with single bottles/cans from some local breweries. There are BBQ sauces from all corners of the metro. There are coffees from our amazing roasters like Parisi and Roasterie. Lest I forget, KC's own Christopher Elbow has a selection of chocolates for the cacao lover in your life. But if you want a sample of coffee or cocktail syrup, then belly up to their cafe counter and bar and order up your favorite. You can do all of this while enjoying a triad of shuffleboard decks in this extremely airy and well-lit space. I have been to locations of this great local company all over the metro, but I think this is by far the largest and most open of all of them. The holidays are a great time to share this great city with visitors, but don't forget, you're here all the time, so make Made in KC your gift destination.

They won't ship their honey, but will ship other food products. The honey is very good.

Fun and cool souvenirs. Playing shuffleboard with a drink was a great way to spend time between soccer games.

It's COSTCO, not a personalized service or concierge. It is going to be busy, the parking lot is…read moregoing to be full, and you can make sure that the lines are usually a bit of a wait. But so what? The value you can get for your money, even though you have to buy in bulk, is pretty exceptional. Costco is a staple in our house for the necessities, such as milk, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and more. We never get out of this location with a bill that is anything under $150 and that's just fine with us. Yes, we are privileged. Yes, we buy something that we did not "need" on every visit, though we have tried so many winners making these all very reasonable risks. A fave: Rao's frozen eggplant parm. Two trays for maybe $12, and that is two-plus meals for the wife & I when we make up a salad & bread to go with. The kids? Eggplant? Pffft. Sure, I could knock the parking lot, or sure, I could knock the lines at checkout. But I have come to expect that, and I don't have any real problem. My knocks are the "seasonal" or "one-time" buys that aren't marked that way, so if I get something that I like, and it's not there the next time I go, then that kind of irritates me. I'm not talking about Christmas candy; I'm talking about a cereal, or a vegetable, or even a bulk snack. If I like it and I cannot get it the next time, then it makes me wonder why I purchased things in the first place. But oh well, I enjoyed it while I had it. The membership is worth it, and so is getting a snack on the way out. Whenever I hear that the economy is bad, I just look at the parking lot in Costco and remind myself how much freedom we have in our country and how far disposable incomes might go. Yes, I am privileged and I am grateful for that, but I love buying 10 or so winter coats for kids and donating them. The cost value is there for me, but the real value is the availability of affordable goods that I can give to those in need. Without Costco, I may not be able to do that.

I just had surgery 3 weeks ago thus the need for one. Oh and he said they only have 4. Only 4 for your entire store? Guess I'm going across the street to Sam's. They have like 10 atleast.
