My friend Melissa introduced me to Rigger's Loft, a wine collective located in the shipyard of Point Potrero in Richmond, CA. R&B cellars is one of the wineries that makes their wine at Rigger's Loft. The view of the city from this place is amazing, so check this place out if you want to relax outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Staff is really nice and friendly, they also know their wine and can recommend a glass or bottle based on your preferences. I bought a Groupon for two wine tastings and tour at R&B cellars and brought my fiancé. We loved it so much, I decided to join their Wine Club. I get a free tasting of glass for myself and a guest every time we go. Rigger's Loft has lots of weekly events including live music, food trucks, bbq's, firework shows, trivia night, oyster Sundays, paint and sip, happy hour, etc. It's a fun place for an event and we love how there is always something new going on. read more

Just visited this place. Very nice views of the bay and love music. Though the wine bottle that we picked was terrible. Not sure whether is was corked or just terrible by itself. Wichira Zinfandel. Please don't pick this!!! Ruins your experience. Food was not that great but edible given this is not a restaurant. read more

Reason for visit: Friend hang out and special event! Visit date: September 7, 2018 First time? Yes. R&B Cellars is easy to work with. I called way in advance to see if I could reserve a table for a special celebration I was throwing. They were accommodating and answered all of my RSVP questions. Like "can we bring treats?" (Yes- cake/dessert is allowed, but no additional food or beverage), and "is there a minimum per person to reserve a table?" (No.) When I arrived I had my choice of seating. Once I picked the table I wanted, staff set us up with glassware, bread sticks, and helped me pick out a couple of bottles of wine for the occasion. The space is ample, with great views of the Bay. There are games, live music on select nights, and food trucks. On our visit there was a taco truck. This is a great space for a casual night out, and it's great for groups, small and large. read more

Great and large variety of wines, nice winemakers and in a great location. They have unique single grape wines like Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also experiment with blends. Customer service was great... Frank was a pleasant host for our tasting. Unfortunately I can only give 3 stars because there were too many dogs running thru the place like it was a dog park. Dogs do not belong everywhere. And if dogs are allowed, they should be required to stay on a leash near their owner. The view is great but I most likely will not return. read more

What a great place! So we were out exploring and just happened to see the winery on the YELP App so we thought we would give it a try. There was live music (starting at 2pm or 3pm) and the ambiance was casual and inviting. The service was great, the person pouring our wines was friendly and knowledgeable. They even have a Food Truck on site so you can grab food or a cheese plate. Prices are reasonable and while its a bit of a drive back into the docks area, its well worth the ride for the great views and overall experience. read more

Beautiful venue for wine tasting. Beautiful views of SF. I so much wanted to like this place. I tasted four wines all from R&B Cellars. Unfortunately 2 out of 4 had gone bad and were undrinkable. I brought this to the attention of the person serving the wine. I love this place, and its new facility, the Rigger's Loft. Out on the waterfront near Pt. Richmond, just the drive out to the winery lets you know that you are entering another world. Once there, the space is lively and friendly - the owners are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and talented people. The tasting room is spacious and open, and the view is terrific - boats and ships pass by regularly. The wines are great, and they have plenty of varieties. And unlike some wineries that put out a large number of different but mediocre wines, these are all terrific. I had the privilege of tailing along behind Kevin, the head winemaker there at a wine festival once - we came across a few different wines (from several wineries) that were pretty indifferent. Kevin thought for a moment, and then took a glass and pour a little of this one wine, a splash of another, and topped it off with a third. His on-the-spot improvised blend was alive with taste on my tongue, like some sort of modern day alchemy - I have never seen (tasted) anything like it before or since. The owners are also jazz musicians, and seem to be pretty tied into the local music scene. Every time I go there is another set of musicians playing (and well, and not too loudly), and they often sit in with them. They are really fostering a lovely little community there - diverse, mature, friendly, talented, relaxed. Go. I sent with a friend that had a membership and you're entitled to sample a little wine. Nice relaxed atmosphere to enjoy wine. I like the building the business is housed in. They have a ping pong table that you can use. I was impressed with the food truck though that produced better quality fare than I would of expected. I had a chicken and sausage paella that was decent. There were other dishes we had that were good too. read more

I am so happy for them on their new location. Barbara and Kevin give you information and make you feel good. You get alot for an affordable selection of wines. My favorite is the Improvisor. Hands-Down the Best Winery and Tasting Room on the Bay! I can't say enough good things about R&B. They have amazing wines at every price-point. Their best value is probably the Sauvignon Blanc (light, crisp and complex) and the Improviser (a fruity and bold red). But the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc are absolutely breathtakingly stunning! The winemakers, Kevin and Barbara were even there and had a glass of wine with me on my last visit! You can tell the passion they have for wine with every sip, and they are just the most charming and down-to-earth people. So to sum it up... Give this place a chance while there was an issue with my recent visit they have addressed the issues and it is a nice place to visit and try a good selection of wines. Follow up to my prior review below. I actually received a call from one of the owners as well as the tasting room manager. Both were very interested to hear about my experience and to let me know they have spoken to the server since my experience was not what they want happening. Apparently our server was simply mistaken and you are allowed to mix an match tastings you are not locked into just the suggested flights. This is how it was on my first visit so it was very good to hear it was a mistake not a policy change. I am definitely looking forward to visiting R&B Cellars in the near future. They do have some very nice wines. This was our second visit to the new tasting room. We waited 8 months anticipating the opening. During the first visit the owners were there and that makes all the difference. This is co-op and they share space with a hard cider and another winery. They offer four different flights of 4 tastes each which are $10 and include a hard cider and different wines and also exclusive fight or 4 tastings for $15. I was told you cannot interchange wines between fights nor can you simply pay $10 or $15 and try 4 tastes of what you want. When I asked they server said "No you can only do flights nothing else and no substitutions".My trouble was I could not find a flight I wanted to try three of the selection which were included much less all 4. However, I could have easily come up with 4 things I wanted to taste from the four flights. read more

What an extraordinary place to try AMAZING wines!!!!! I love sweet, fruity, rich red wines and i have to say i found my home! Their flight wines of 4 or samples is great! I always get their creamy truffle cheese and crackers and it is quite an experience! A bite of heaven in a nutshell. Service is exceptional and they do go over each wine and how it is made. Good wine, good Customer service. Frank was good Wine Educator. With this being a destination I truly wanted good wines, good views, good food. Well all was well until I thought I was in a dog park. I have an allergy with dogs but to have dog owners not keep their dogs on leash and run around at full speed is not what I wanted to experience. If it were my child, they would have been restrained...very inconsiderate. And much as I like the wines, my next trip and referrals would be to head to Napa where you experience Wine and Ambiance and respect of experience....Too bad....the bay views are great. read more
