I lost my grandmother just before COVID hit, and it has been quite challenging for our family to settle her affairs as agencies and businesses are operating without adequate staff and support. R & D has been absolutely wonderful. They are responsive, kind, and competent. Don took time out to really explain things to me and help me get the ball rolling. I'm very selective about the accounting firm I use for my personal, business and living trust accounting services. The problem always is that many accounting companies make service promises and don't deliver. Not so with RandD Accounting in Broomfield. Have you ever tried to contact an accountant during tax time and never get a response? Don at R and D responded back to me on a SUNDAY several times within the hour. All three of my returns were filed on time - which is the first time this has ever happened with any accountant firm I have used. Deeply shocked by this service - or lack thereof. I'd strongly urge anyone looking to try elsewhere. I'd used R and D the year prior and they were good. This year, however, they failed me to a shocking degree and caused a huge amount of stress through their negligence. I got my documents in well before their given deadline but heard nothing from them until I prompted them over email - the response was terse and unhelpful. They remained uncommunicative, which made me deeply anxious, and by the time tax day came round my anxiety was vindicated: there was simply nothing from them. I called, they said I'd receive an email by noon. By 2pm there was still nothing. I called again, the call was dropped. I called again, they said they'd call back. I'd relied on them, trusted them, and they betrayed that trust and left me horribly in the lurch. Appalling to be treated with such contempt. Please go elsewhere. read more

We are a small business that worked with Don and Rand D for approx 3 years after they were recommended to us by ADP. Earlier this year in February 2016 they missed another deadline (Payroll this time - missed the deadline for submittal by several hours so our employees were not paid in time) and when we questioned where the discrepancy was and how we could avoid it, they came back with "we're probably not the best fit for you - find someone else." Turns out they just signed up several significant sized clients from another firm who was found to be embezzling payroll taxes from their clients. Don was the one who pointed out that they would be even busier so our measly 8 employees were small potatoes to them. Nothing like scrambling to find a new tax accountant and payroll service at the beginning of tax season!!! Thanks Don - so very professional of you and R and D. Fast forward to today - we have been having our new account review the books and find / fix any discrepancies with our business and personal taxes. Low and behold many have been found in 2014 and 2013 and we now are going to owe the IRS around $9K due with penalties because of the lack of detail and possibly knowledge. Poor service, slow responses, little to no attention to details and consistent mistakes were trademarks of R&D when we worked with them. If it were not for more issues and mistakes being found on previous returns I probably would have never written this review. Maybe if we were a larger company with more income generating activities for Don and his team we would have not had the problems. Don - you know exactly who we are and what you did. Went in to get taxes done, pay by the form. The company was extremely professional from start to finish, to include the initial phone call. We dealt with Don, who was helpful through the whole process, and was very kind. He took our forms, and necessary information. Don then worked on our return, and a week later had given a return back to us quite larger then we have ever received. I will definitely be going back to R&D for the foreseeable future. read more
