Lisa Barbaro from grand plans was the first designer to respond to my request for information. We agreed in advance to a price for the design plan should I proceed work with her design. This was very fair. As a consultant myself, I actually suggested she charge a bit more for her service. I was impressed that she offered to visit my property so she could see firsthand the light, the soil, etc..Lisa was on time and prepared with a survey of my lot. She did not charge for this consultation, which I found to be a good first step. She spent a sufficient amount of time at my home, asking questions and gaining insight about me and my ideas and preferences. We agreed that she would provide me with a written plan for concept, a digital 2D plan and revision(s), plant lists, and care guidelines for phase one of my multi phase project. NEXT STEP- waiting for the schematic plan. Depending upon the anticipated cost vs my budget, I may proceed to implementing the project using Grand Plans or as a DYI. I'll review again once I have the plan

My flower gardens were overrun with mugwort. If you know anything about mugwort, it's nearly impossible to kill off. Other projects included improving curb appeal and dealing with constant runoff from the lawn. Last year a lovely stone wall was built. I could not be happier with the service we received from R & D Tree! My first phone call was answered promptly by Darlene and we scheduled an estimate walk through. Ramiro showed up on time, walked the property with me and listened to my requests that ranged from taking a tree down over a roadway and several larger limbs being removed from over the house and driveway. He explained how they would remove each branch along the way and made some recommendations as to how to improve my overall look and some tree health. Ramiro gave me a very fair estimate, sealed on a handshake. The work was completed a few weeks later while I was at work. The crew showed up on time and got right to work(ring cam). When I got home everything was taken care of as we agreed, including a couple of branches I said I would take down myself. The whole yard was clean and neat. Great company and quality people! I will absolutely have R & D Tree Service back for my tree needs in the future and will recommend them to anyone needing tree work. read more

What a lovely family. Darleen Quijada does the call backs and Ramiro Quijada came right out to provide an estimate on the work we needed. We agreed on a price and they came out within a reasonable period of time. They not only did the take down of the trees but offered to do the stump grinding that same day. George (foreman/son) spoke with my husband a few times during the take down ensuring that everything was done to his satisfaction. They cleaned up all the debris and left only wood that we could burn in our fireplace. Would highly recommend this family business. read more

I had a dead tree close to my house and driveway. R&D came to my house and was surprised it was still standing. They gave me a great price, and because it was ready to go in the next windstorm, they moved mountains to get to me in two days. Believe me when I say during all these horrible windstorms we've been having, I bless them. I'm sure last night might have taken it down. I've had R&D do work for me on 4 occasions. Twice at the current house and twice at the previous. Ramiro and Darlene are incredibly personable and a pleasure to work with. We had a tree come down on our deck just before Christmas. We contacted 3 different companies for estimates, all were very prompt in providing an estimate. Ramiro came in the lowest which allowed us to do some preventative tree trimming. I was comfortable moving forward with Ramiro and Darlene thanks to prior reviews and recommendations.
