Had an impound and was being charged $535.50 for 1.5 hours of work and was told it was towed 22 miles from LOC-1605 W ROSAMOND BLVD ROSAMOND, CA 93560 to DEST- R&J TOWING LANCASTER YARD 42302 8TH ST E LANCASTER, CA...................................when our Goldstar GPS told us that it was a day later than they claimed (they charge $78 a day) and in fact it DID NOT get towed 22 miles. It got towed 1.5 miles to DEST-R&J TOWING ROSAMOND, CA 1733 SIERRA HWY ROSAMOND, CA 93560.........................1.5 miles for $535.50 was not changed. Got the supervisor who started yelling at me about a condition report (reports i do everyday and do NOT take an hour an a half) I attempted to be reasonable. They would not. They have your car and will not release or give up that vehicle until you pay for cost that they cannot and will not explain. Again if you value you wallet and money AVOID THIS PLACE at all cost. I've included the bills and highlighted area. They may have made a couple of bucks off this one. That is well worth the review for us..............hopefully it helps someone in the future make a decision. (still dont have that "condition report"......hard to do without a key that we have in Florida....) Used these guys thru AAA, and they're the shadiest company around. My car was towed from a shop in Palmdale on a flatbed and delivered almost 6 hours later by another truck, hauled on the 2 front wheels. Causing damages to the rear Differential and some scuff marks on the hood and bumper. The car was brand new 2023 model GR Corolla, which is an AWD vehicle with about 200 miles, and Raul at first admitted fault and later denied any damages. It took me 4 months and hours and hours of my time to finally get payment to have my car fixed and had to forfeit the correct amount to fix my front end from the poor customer service by there insurance company. Okay, this wasn't exactly what I was expecting. We all hate vehicle break downs. So I had to deal with this inconvenience. I was traveling to Bakersfield, California and just north of Los Angeles, CA on I-5. Then my alternator went out and lost power to my Ford F250. I called AAA for a tow, I requested a flat bed towing truck and I was expecting it. I waited a long time, and there are some issues to be dealt with AAA. I did get a tow, as I waited a couple of hours for the tow truck, but I was surprised to see the tow truck pull up with another vehicle on the flat bed. This driver did some type of reserve tow using a tow bar and towed my Ford F250 backwards and it was not on the requested flat bed or tilt bed as some called. The tow was okay, but some how the driver snapped off my drivers side rear view mirror on the process. I don't know how he did it, but he did snap off my mirror. It was very late at night during this service call and into the early morning hours. I had pictures and video footage of my truck with the mirrors on luckily. ( I felt I had to prove it they were on the truck just prior the tow.) You never expect to have your vehicle physically damaged from tow truck company, in the process of their duties. Getting the damage repaired was a hassle. Either the driver did not own up to it or what ever. ( I don't know or no conjectures from me here.) They made me jumps some hoops to be reimbursed for the damage. It took a couple of weeks, but they sent me a check to almost cover most the cost of the replacement mirror and then I paid out out of pocket to have the mirror installed. They did make it right and I'm please, their office staff was polite and I did follow up with them with several telephone calls. Now, I don't know much about history with tow companies, but I'm glad they are there when you need them. I my case they did make this unfortunate incident right, and I am good with that and they did provide the service. The only recommendation, they have to be more attentive on their service. I have no ill will on this tow truck company. I wish them the best on their continued business. read more

Called AAA to get my boyfriend's car towed about 90 miles to our go-to auto repair shop. We asked if we needed to be there to receive the car and the tow truck driver told us no so we went to grab something to eat. We made sure the address was correct on his tablet and told them that the auto shop knows that they will be receiving the car and that if anything changes we will let him know. He called us and told us he was there and I asked him to give the keys to the auto shop manager thinking that was the end of it. That was around 2:30pm and the auto shop closes at 3pm. Fast forward 2 days we called the auto shop to check up on the car and they told us they had never received the car and even waited until 3:15pm. Called the towing company and they said the GPS shows the correct address and they would get back to us which they have not since they kept telling us the tow truck driver was "not in". We wanted to get to the bottom of it so we texted the tow truck driver number and he said that he gave the keys to whom he believed was the correct person. I went to the area of said drop off and talked to the auto shop and a couple of the other auto shops in the area to try and search for the car and nothing. They claim they "did their job" but at the end of the day the car is missing and stress levels are high. We've been trying to play detective for the past week but to no avail. A stolen vehicle report has been filed and all we can do is hope something turns up and that this would not happen to anyone else. Lessons learned, don't make assumptions and try not to create "should've" scenarios because those thoughts can be unnecessarily stress inducing and pointless since the reality is that, it is what it is. I've also experienced driving along side them and their drivers not paying attention to other vehicles around them, switching lanes without using their turn signal. Angel saved the day! My trailer came off the truck and got stuck teetering on the edge of a water wash. The first driver said he couldn't help and left. Angel used a pulley and a chain, moved it out of the dirt, then helped me hook back to my truck so that I could go home. I was so thankful! He said he's been doing this for 21 years and it showed. Don't call this company!! They were allegedly dispatched to unlock our vehicle door because my husband had inadvertently locked us out. We called AAA and were told that R&J would be there within the hour. They didn't show. I called AAA again and was told that they would be there in 20 minutes. Again they never showed up. I called AAA again and was told that they would be there in 15 minutes. Again they didn't come. I then asked them to please send us someone else. It was dark, cold and somewhat windy and we were freezing cold. It took them a little while but they finally sent someone who showed up and got our door unlocked. The other day while driving home we saw a flat bed truck exceed 90mph on the freeway and cut in and out of the double yellow lines into the carpool lane over 4 times. He did not have a passenger either. They clearly do not care about their safety or the safety of others around them to be driving such big heavy vehicles at these speeds. Called R & J towing through AAA to ask about them helping us with our trailer. All we needed was for them to send out a tow truck driver to help us lift the front tongue of our travel trailer. The dispatch lady said, "oh we don't do that." Like hell you don't. You're a registered RV Plus vendor with AAA and you are required to assist when called, especially when it's a simple as bringing our your truck and helping. Don't worry, we're also filing a full complaint with the better business bureau and AAA. You are not the kind of vendor that should be getting a contract with AAA. If you're looking for another company in the Palmdale/Lancaster area, try Countrywide Towing or anyone other than R & J. If you're the owner of R & J, it's time to step up your customer service with your dispatch team and inform them to not say "oh, we don't do that", when AAA contracts with you to do it. read more
