Owners, Claudia and Ronaldo, are such great people! They were great hosts for our Even Start Program (KUSD) families!

I work with a KUSD Program called Even Start Family Literacy Program and we invited our families to go apple picking at R&M Orchards! The owners are both pleasant to work with, are good people, and were great hosts for our program! Our families and I had a blast picking apples and we got to eat one as well while we were there! I felt like a kid again, picking apples for the first time with wonder! Fun morning for our program participants! Thank you for sharing this beautiful space with our community and families! We will definitely come back next year and we look forward to it!

Thanks for sharing all the info to make this a good trip!

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

There's a tavern, a quick eats restaurant, gift shop, bakery, snacks, and LOTS of CHEESE The guy at the cheese counter was AMAZING!! He talked about everything from aging to flavor, he literally could've sold me a cow because I spent about $30 on cheese that day Everyone enjoyed their meal because a grilled cheese at the cheese castle just hit different...lol! My teens and young adult went with the burger and fries, which they also enjoyed. This was literally a quick trip from Chicago and I'd definitely do it again but I'd make sure to bring a cooler and lots of ice packs (which they have available for purchase).

Of course when you come to Wisconsin you are going to want to find some cheese. Why wouldn't you pick a place that is shaped like a castle? This place does a great job of having it all... above and beyond cheese! A restaurant/bar, a snack counter, ice cream, candy, bakery, liquor section, tee shirts and all types of local foods from other Wisconsin business. And FREE SAMPLES! I've been here many times because it's a great place to pull over and take a break and shop for some cool foods while on my way home from a trip to Illinois or other places south of me. Pro tip: find the bakery products in the frozen section from the Elegant Farmer, everything they make is great.

The truck is basically a converted camper and looks super bright and clean with about 3-4 young women working the truck. Orders are taken at the window and menus are on a little cart next to the window. The toasts we ordered, the twist toast and hi honey were both good. The toast, the home made sour dough was great and had a great crust and crumb. The avocado mash was a bit thin and lacked seasoning but was fresh and bright tasting. The twist toast was better once I hit the truffle oil, but it was drizzled on what seemed like less than a quarter of the serving. $23 for 2 toasts and a drink. I think about 10-15% over priced considering portion and location (no over head of brick and mortar), especially the portions. They were really small portions. Giving this a little more though over the many visits now- the issue is the prep and portions have a lot of variability which crates the feeling the portions and prep are "lite" vs. the previous visit. Nail down prep and portion size and it's perfect then. Adding a little more mash is what they need. Bowls are always spot on. Overall - really really great addition and super nice people.

We had the granola butter toast--one with bananas and one with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries and we shared a cold pressed juice - watermelon, ginger, and lime. The toast was awesome with fresh ingredients with yummy vanilla granola nut butter, fresh fruit, cinnamon, and a drizzle of honey. The juice was refreshing. It is a little bit pricey $25 for two toasts and one juice, but definitely worth it as the ingredients are fresh and healthy and made to order. We will definitely be back again.
