He threw a literal fit about how we placed our order and refused to accommodate our request, forcing us to go through one of the employees instead--who, to their credit, was excellent. To make matters worse, we witnessed him arguing with his wife while we were just trying to relax outside with a drink and smoke. Two story white historic home with a gorgeous large wrap around porch which has been furnished with comfy outdoor seating and tables. Ceiling fats provide and nice breeze when warm- standing gas heaters are placed in cooler months. Walking into the large foyer displays a glass case and table with a generous selection of cigars- if not familiar with the brands / types - no worries, they will be happy to steer in right direction!! the original beautifully restored hand carved staircase leads upstairs, to the right is where you can place order- large selection of liquor, wine and beer are available as well as light bites. This is the place that local cigar fans have been waiting for. A welcome addition to the local scene. The owners have transformed an older house into a total cigar lounge, an oasis for cigar smokers. Several rooms have been set up with a unique theme, the "living room", the "theatre room", the" Sports room", the "conference room". There is a great deck/patio area in the back which will be an outstanding venue on nicer days. The whole place is well appointed with new plasma TVs, leather theatre style seating. The room sized humidor is being stocked with the most popular offerings of the top cigar companies from around the world. As a younger guy from a big city in Canada.. I was a little nervous on my first coast to coast trip across the US. I had stopped into a couple of cigar lounges along the way for a drink and a smoke. Some were good(MA), some were horrid(NY) and some were spectacular. R&R Cigars firmly fits into the spectacular category. Unaccustomed to the Southern US and only about 90 minutes outside of the Big Easy, I didn't have high expectations for finding a decent smoke in the small city of Tuscaloosa. Once again, I was dead wrong. Tucked into a Victorian(I think) style home was a beautiful cigar lounge. When I walked in through the door I was greeted by an attentive clerk who quickly fixed me up a glass of single malt and showed me around. Clearly a great venue for a sporting events (huge 4K TVs everywhere), what really struck me was the great selection. Several HTF drams of Balvenie were on the scotch list along with a sizable selection of bourbon and other libations. This, coupled with an absolutely massive selection of cigars made for a fine evening. I smoked three cigars: Padron 85th, Fuente Anniversario and an R&R house blend the "Black Warrior". Shockingly enough the house blend held up to its two predecessors quite well. It was an enjoyable medium-full smoke, that had a beautiful band which drew on the nearby Black Warrior river. Midway through the evening I learned that the gentleman who had assisted me was in fact the owner, Reagan. Cool as a cucumber and not one to gloat, he was an excellent guide. So excellent in fact that I decided to grab a hotel room nearby and pop back the following morning for another smoke. Reagan, there once more, was kind enough to gift me another of R&Rs house blends as I headed on. Not smoking this one Chief, it will sit in my humidor as a momento of the best part of my trip. All I can say is if you find yourself within 500 miles of Tuscaloosa then you have no choice. Get in there and see Reagan. You will learn about cigars, sample great whisky and talk football, history, politics or you name it. It's places like this that the foundation of Southern hospitality was built upon. Once you've been you'll spend the rest of your days trying to figure out how to get back. read more

Every time I'm in Tuscaloosa, I drop in to visit with the incredibly pleasant staff and owners and stick around to enjoy a cigar (and maybe a football game or two). I must have come at the wrong time of the day, because I've been to alot of cigars bar establishments and they may not have had the best looking spot, but customer service was on point.
