We decided to swing on in to check it out and we were not let down! $20 cover that let us in and out all day which was to be expected for a pretty hyped up game. The yellow hammer was delicious and not too expensive. The service was very quick and friendly despite how packed the bar become during the day. There was plenty of room to move around and a decent amount of seating. Plenty of TVs to watch was happening with other games and they had College Game Day playing on the big screen. Everyone there was extremely friendly despite our group being decked out head to toe in Ole Miss gear. Our overall experience here was great and we will definitely be back next time we visit Tuscaloosa. read more

If you're an alumni and enjoy being treated poorly this is the place for you. Even better you can buy a pass online and they still won't let you in ($40 btw). On top of that everyone will claim to be the manager even the bouncer who has no education and isn't of age. Galettes will steal your money. You cannot trust this business. Whoever owns this place needs to take charge and quit allowing college students to run the place. read more

Well that happened. We couldn't miss the yellow hammer so we made it happen on game day. From what I understand, game day is not the day to go. We paid $10 cover, plus $8 per drink. When we went to leave, we found out we couldn't take our drinks out with us. We only went in to buy the drinks for our group, so we snuck them over the fence. They tasted dangerously good, but after drinking one in record time I'm fairly certain it was just tasty juice without alcohol. The bar looked great, and I'd certainly go back to hang out at the bar. read more

This is your typical college bar, a dive, that has been around forever. A T-Town college tradition. It's nice to see it is still rocking after all these years. It's loud. It's filled with the campus crowd (young), so there is some serious drinking going on here. You are elbow to elbow. The aroma is still the same....unpleasant. I wonder when the sticky floors from spilled booze were last cleaned. The bathrooms are not kept up, so think major yuck!!! The bartenders struggle to keep up with their patrons. Yet, despite all of this they continue to be a huge success. Parents this is where your college kids are spending their monthly allowance ! Let them go and you can find another place for a civilized drink!!!! Sometimes though you just want to say you have been there and done that. read more

This is the dirtiest bar I've been to in my entire life. The ground feels nasty, there is trash everywhere, and the trash cans are filled to the top that sometimes a bottle falls off and breaks on the floor. Objectively, it's awful but for the sake of memories (taking my roommate out for the first time, and watching the national championship), I'd come back. The bathroom is nasty. There are two stalls. One vomits toilet paper and the other had no lock. There were no paper towels and it was only 9PM. The tradition is to get the Yellow Hammer drink. The bartenders are nice and they mean well. They just have too many people to attend to and they do the best they can. read more

I am an out of state student and already pay a lot of money to go to this school....went to wine Wednesday here and the University of Alabama made action cards available on Apple wallet to make it convenient for student to not have to carry their action card. When coming here on Wednesday I presented my Apple wallet verified action card and they denied it and made me pay $10. By no means do I care about paying $10 but it is the principle of them trying to rip off college students. I would not be surprised if the bouncer took my $10 and put it in his pocket. Would love for the manager or university to answer this and give me a valid response as to why they do not accept this when every other place on campus does.... read more

Easily best bar in Tuscaloosa. The new layout is perfect because you don't feel crammed in or like you won't be able to get a drink at the bar. The hybrid indoor/outdoor feel is great if it's winter or summer. Would recommend to anyone whether it's game day or not! read more

I did not eat here didn't even know they had food. Went a few times when I was visiting my son. Had Yellow Hammer drinks that we're great, they are a sweet cocktail that would have an umbrella in them if you were on the beach. You also get to keep the cup. The TVs were large and brand new. Cocktails came fast, happy hour was $2.00 domestics which I thought was a great price, there were also many other well drink specials. The bathrooms were very clean. The only negative was they don't have much seating, it seems they want you to stand drink and go, no time to hang out and chit chat unless you like to do that standing. This is the ultimate T-town dive bar. Don't come if you're expecting red carpet service, clean bathrooms or sophisticated company. This is THE place to get shimmered prior-to, during or after a game: cue lots of college kids, the out-of-town country folks looking for a yellow hammer, and a band that places 'Sweet Home Alabama' twice in an hour. The drinks are cheap, the waits are long and line to the bathroom wraps around the room. But, it's fun and makes me very thankful I'm no longer in college. read more

Came here the night before the Bama/OleMiss game and and had a fantastic time. Our bartender Toni was terrific and no matter how crazy it got, we always got our Yellowhammers quickly. We came back on Gameday and really enjoyed the Garage and terrific service again! Can't wait to be back next year! read more

This is probably the best bar I've ever been in. From the soft lighting, to the smell of tradition and heritage, this bar really makes you feel right at home in God's country. And what better place to watch God's football team, the Crimson Tide? I strongly recommend the Yellowhammer, a drink consisting of secret ingredients that comes in a yellow novelty cup. If it's bartender ass your after, Gallettes has some of the best in the business. There aren't any strip clubs in town, so where else are you going to find hot women that will be nice to you for money? The bouncers are courteous and well dressed, always ready to lend a helping hand. I can't stress enough how good this bar is. Just writing this review has made me feel funny in my trousers. read more

The epitome of awful appreciation for the customer. Bouncers are the guido-douche type with rocks for brains. I left my credit card at this bar the night before. This has happened to me before at bars like Moe's, The Booth, etc. with no issues returning it to me. Came up to the bar after just returning from Montgomery. I was told I had to wait in a 30 minute line and pay their 10$ door price to get my credit card. Needless to say, I will not be won't be returning to this bar, neither will my friends who had to wait on me for half an hour because of this nonsense. Zero appreciation for the customer. I have no idea how this place stays in business. There is no sign, it is just a door in the side of a brick building. I had heard people talk about Gallettes but had no clue this was it until my friend brought me here. The place looks and smells absolutely nasty, like puke and stale beer. The crowd here gets absolutely rowdy and hammered so if that's your thing then this is the place for you but it's not always for me. read more
