Randy (the owner of R&R Painting) and his team did a great job to complete our interior painting project for the main level of our LKN home. He was very responsive during the proposal bidding process and his proposed price was very reasonable considering the attention to detail that his team demonstrated throughout the project and the quality of the finished product. Unlike many other contractors, Randy was on the job site each day to address any issues and has a lead person designated to direct the work of the others. Although most of the work was relatively straighforward, we have 24' ceilings in our living room and entryway that provided a more challenging effort for painting the ceilings and walls. We were very pleased with the outcome, including the ongoing cleanup of the work areas and the protection of furniture and other items. I urge you to take your business to any other painting company! Randy from RandR Painting talks a good game, but falls extremely short in his professionalism. He stands around talking about politics, his family, his fire fighting days and even walks straight into your home completely unannounced as if he owns the place - unbelievable!! What he doesn't ever want to talk about are the mistakes made by his company. We hired him this past winter to paint the exterior of our home. He came out, told us he could make our house look good as new, and promised to start as soon as the weather permitted. Fast forward to June 10th, the first day they started, and the only day Randy bothered to show up for weeks until he started work on our garage doors - another nightmare story to be told! Almost no prep to our house was done before they started painting, in fact we pressure washed the back of the house in order to help speed up the process, and only the area of the front porch was pressure washed by RandR Painting. He never relayed to his crew what needed to be done, they had no direction by Randy and had no idea what had been outlined in Randy's quote to us. We had to continually show them, and tell them what needed to be done and what had been told would be done by his company. They were trying to cut every single corner they could - even stated they had spent too much time at our property and now the job was costing him money. Not our fault he can't properly and accurately bid a job after all these years in business. Now don't get me wrong, his crew of guys is very friendly, polite and accommodating and they do know what they are doing, Randy is the problem, he never told them or directed them what we had agreed upon with the contract/work order - he sent his crew to our house blind. They applied only primer in many places and then insisted they had applied two coats of finish paint, (there is a tool that actually measures the thickness of paint and layers just for these types of situations - we have one) they didn't properly cut in, mask off or tarp ANYTHING leaving us with drips and splatters on our deck surface, new patio furniture, ceiling fan, railings, windows, our copper gutters and down spouts, all the edges of our asphalt shingles, our rock work, our retaining wall, and even our cars! We tried to contact him several times to come out and go over the project, explaining it had gone off track and we weren't happy with the quality of the job - he blamed the paint!! He actually blamed Sherwin Williams Emerald Exterior oil based primer and finish paint! We went to Sherwin Williams and talked to the representative, he shook his head and said no way was the paint to blame. When we told him it wasn't the paint he all the sudden expressed how he was very busy and didn't have time to come out. The next call he was asking for money without addressing our concerns. Again we asked him to come out and go over the project, this time he had heart problems. I knew if I asked him out again he'd say the dog ate his paint brush! Move ahead three months later - THREE MONTHS! - they finished the job, BUT NOT BEFORE WE HAD TO GET HIS INSURANCE COMPANY INVOLVED! This entire summer we had people crawling all over our house painting, the whole summer! He is refusing to return to our home and take any responsibility for the personal property damage his company has done to our home. Instead he sent one of his employees to deal with his mess, I felt so sorry for Danny, he had to deal with our frustrations because his boss made him. Randy offered to give us back $2,500. of the $7,000 we already paid him, (video recording of that conversation) if we'd just let it go. We didn't enter into a $10,410.00 dollar contract with Randy, only to have him walk away with tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage done to our home. I will say much of the thin painting and sloppy cut in work has been handled - but that came with a fight! I shouldn't have had to walk around my house taking pictures and marking it with blue tape just to get him to finish his job to an adequate standard, but I did - twice. We shouldn't have had to take time out of our work schedules to make many phone calls and appointments for other painters, gutter companies, window cleaning services, roofers and insurance companies to come by our home and asses what needs to be fixed - but we did, and we still have others coming out next week. RandR Painting robbed us of our summer and has monopolized a lot of our free time because of his blatant disregard for our time and hard earned money. As of yesterday 9/18/19, we're still waiting to hear back from his insurance company as to what damages will be covered by his policy. Again, stay away from Randy and RandR Painting unless your idea of fun is Watching the slowest painting process ever, a massive mess for you to clean up, and trying to get reimbursed for personal property damage by insurance companies. read more

I don't understand companies any more. There was a time not to long ago they would fight to earn your business, now they just don't give a rat's ass! Contacted R & R Monday morning May 6th to get someone to come out and quote me on painting the exterior of my house. Was told it was crazy that day but someone would call me back Tuesday morning. Tuesday came and went and so did Wednesday. So Thursday morning I went to their website and again requested another quote to paint my house. Now here it is two weeks later and no one has ever contacted me. Fine I am not going to call or email over and over and over again and beg you to come out and give me a quote. If you don't want my business, then I will find someone that does. I have now contacted four painting companies and only one has called me back and came out to give me a quote. R & R painting, Century painting and Glenny's painting all must make so much money they felt they didn't need to call me back or come out to quote me on painting my house. read more

We just had our townhome painted by Randy and his team. We are extremely happy with the results. This is the second time we used R&R Painting and both experiences have been great. Randy provides an estimate and sticks to it. His team showed up every day, on time and called us when they were wrapping up for the day. They were very professional and friendly to work with. We changed our minds on one color mid-job and they graciously went along with our change, no problem. The icing on the cake; Randy and Danny came back on Saturday, after our job was done, and helped to correct a problem that the floor installers had left behind. I would not hire this company. What a mess I am still finding where they missed spots and still cleaning up there mess. They were all over my house. They didn't go room to room. I did get a lower price and it showed in the quality. They broke a light switch and put it back on too and never said anything. When I told the painter he said he would replace it and never did. I also happy that we came across Randy and his team! He came over and gave us a free estimate. His estimate was fair and competitive. We were not in a huge hurry to get the interior painting as we were just getting settled in to the new house. Randy kept in contact with me every step of the way. When both our schedules worked his team came over and completed the entire interior (3000 sqft) including trim, doors, kick plates and spindles on the staircase in 3 1/2 days. The finished product was perfect. Randy came over and we did a final walk through to see if there were any areas that needed touching up. We are also in the process of getting our kitchen counters and backsplash done and once that is complete Randy is going to send a crew member over to complete areas around our kitchen. Randy is professional and a genuinely nice guy. I love that he has ties to the community that I live in and he has been able to recommend other businesses while we work on our house.
