Mathew Meschke, came to my home and asked I he could inspect my roof for hail damage because a very…read moresevere storm had been in this area a few months earlier and several of my neighbors had needed to file insurance claims to get their roofs repaired. I didn't think that I had any roof damage, and I wasn't interested but Mathew was so professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind that I finally agreed that he and I would go up on my roof and inspect it together. Once we were on the roof Mathew showed me that my roof did in fact have hail damage and that his company Meschke Construction, would help me with my insurance claim and all the necessary repairs. I asked many questions because I had never filed an insurance claim for a major repair to my home and I had heard horror stories of companies taking advantage of customers. But every concern I brought up Mathew addressed and put me at ease. So, I signed an agreement with Meschke Construction (that I could back out of in the first three days if I changed my mind) and Mathew assured me that if the insurance company did not honor my claim that I did not have to honor this contract or move forward with these repairs at this time and this contract with Meschke Construction for my homes hail damage repair would be voided. Then Mathew helped me schedule an appointment with my Farmers insurance adjuster and when the adjuster came to my home Mathew was with me and the adjuster and the adjuster did in fact find hail damage and wrote up a claim for my roof to be repaired. Mathew then introduced me to the other people at Meschke Construction who would be responsible for the various processes to get my claim repairs completed, for example he introduced me to Jason who would be a liaison, between me, Meschke Construction, and Farmers Insurance, Jake and Greg who oversaw the crew scheduling and Luke who was the general manager. The whole team at Meschke Construction including Brandon, Katie and even Michael, who oversees estimates, helped me through the process on getting my repairs done by keeping me informed, following through and addressing weather issues insurance glitches when they arose while still working to ensure that my repairs were completed at the highest quality. Now to date all the repairs to my home have been completed and the insurance claim paid, for several months now, and I couldn't be happier.

We used Lakeland Contractors to replace the floorboards and railing on our deck. It was a large…read moreproject of around $25,000. We choose them because they seems to be interested in the job and brought two people to provide an estimate. They have average pricing and average quality relative to the other bids we received and the final work product. We chose them because of their energy when estimating our job. However their project management was a nightmare. We put 50% down in December in order to get started right away in the spring so we could use the "new" deck all summer. There were a number of excuses why they could not start in May when we wanted them to even with six months of planning and them having our money. But they said if they could start in June, then they would be able to stay on the job full time and finish it fast. As it turned out, we should have started earlier as the job took over seven weeks to complete because of poor project management and lack of work ethic. They averaged 4-5 working hour (if we were lucky) per day. I had repeated conversations about the lack of hours worked and the speed of the project as we could not use our deck during the great summer months of June and most of July. Our best interest was clearly not their concern. They started after 9:00 am most of the time and finished before 4:00 pm. This would include leaving during the job to get a few supplies and whatever else they were doing. Some days they worked only a few hours. On days when the weather was a problem for only a couple of hours, they never came back or skipped the day all together. There was never any urgency to complete the job regardless of what we requested. No working into the evenings, no working on the weekends. The work, when finally completed was adequate. However, the stress of not having responsible people who really wanted to work on a regular basis was overwhelming. In hind sight, I would have used a different firm.
